Warlock of Oceans: My Poseidon System

Chapter 116 Entrance Scaling Exams (3)

"Geez… what the hell…. Apparently, the Crestsplitter family is famous for absorbing other families. They're a very mixed family of various different races, but what is common throughout all of them is their white hair, pale white skin, ghastly white eyes, and their ghost-like appearance. In fact, I think the number one ranked student in our school is from that very same family."

"If they're that big, then how come I haven't heard of them before?"

"They're not ones to make public appearances. Only their head maybe once in a while, but even then, that is stretching it. And I will say they're strong. Really fucking strong."

As we turned back towards the television displaying the matches, we saw the naga had a massive split through its entire body. It had been cut vertically from the tip of its nose all the way to the end of its tail, which sparked with green flames.

"Damn, she's good."

Indeed she was extremely strong. I might have had a bit of trouble dealing with her if I fought her in my current state. Although, that doesn't mean she was going to win. And the only reason I thought this was because the next monster that she faced, a clear weakness, had been revealed in the way she moved, swung her sword, and just observed the fight in general.

She was an amateur. Sure, she was a kid, so that was a given, but she was just such an amateur when it came to battle IQ that I could assume that she was bred and born to be a glass killer. Was that the entirety of the Crestsplitter family, or was that just her? It was hard to tell due to her young age.

"Would you win against that asshole?" Asger asked as we watched the girl get overwhelmed by the flying creature. It was like a moth but ten times bigger, meaning she should have been able to hit it with a few calculations, but she failed to apply those academics to her fighting style. So, in the end, she lost by the allotted time running out.

"Absolutely."

"Okay, and finally, can we have the Rank 1 come up. Cyrus Claydol, good luck," The elf announced, and with everybody looking at me as I stepped in front of the opening auditorium walls, I coldly stared at the injured Fishman. Her right arm was broken, and she had burn marks scorching her back.

She glared back at me, only to see the eyes of our entire grade watch as she limped over to the corner of the room. She was lonely. She had no friends, no family, no familiars to even sit with. She was a sad, sad child, and I would have pitied her more if it wasn't for her personality.

FWOOSH… BOOOM

The walls behind me collided, separating me from the rest of the world. A light stench of blood hung in the air, and the lingering mana from all of these summoned monsters was incredibly thick. It was almost like I was moving through a viscous material as I stepped forward. But, just as I was about to complain about this, all of the lingering mana disappeared, and a monster appeared right in front of me.

A high troll. A monster, when compared to the adventurer ranking system, is on par with A-class adventurers. But, that doesn't mean a single A-class can take them down, even if they're a massive damage dealer, as you need tanks to absorb the damage and long-range damage dealers to slowly dwindle down the thing's health and weak points.

With thick gray skin and eyes that were as hard as stones, the sword they had given me wasn't going to do much. And as it towered over me, absorbing just where it was, it soon noticed my presence. It looked down at me with its shitty eyesight. Not that it mattered much in a tight and enclosed room where everything was white but me.

"Hmm… It should-"

The monster's chest expanded as it opened its crusty lips to suck in as much air as possible. Clearly, it was going in for a taunting attack that also had a paralysis effect. It was pretty common amongst this species, so instead of covering my ears, I dropped my sword and cupped my hands.

CLAP

My head was dizzy for just a moment, but with a few adjustments to my sense of balance, I got back in tip-top shape. The monster roared at the top of its lungs, shaking the very floor I was now running across, attempting to close the distance with this easy chance.

[Water Ring] [Water Magic]n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

The rings of water that surrounded me gave me a boost to my water magic, but in a split second, I made a separate decision. This was no longer viable in a fight. It was way too weak, especially when a high troll is a dark monster. If use light attacks, then I should be able to do more damage.

[Aether Control] [Aether Explosion] [Aether Creation]

The rings of water around me instantly glowed a bright white light before exploding, sending sizzling drops of liquid to fly right into the troll's mouth. It ate it, but there was no real effect since the inside of its mouth was as tough as its skin on the outside.

I created two glowing white daggers in each hand of mine. They shimmered brightly, especially with the tendrils of aether that exploded from them like the tentacles of an abyssal beast now converted to a higher power.

The monster soon finished roaring, and as it sucked in another breath, I saw a fist as large as my entire body get sent flying toward me. But it was simple. There was no calculation intended with that punch. It was nothing more than a beastly flail.

Tup

My feet left the ground and landed on the troll's arm. It attempted to swat me off with its free hand, but in a split second, I increased my speed to its max, just barely dodging the attack that most likely would have severely injured me. If not severely injured, it would have just straight-up killed me.

Like the wind was carrying me, I effortlessly ran up the troll's body before leaping into the air. And as predicted, it opened its gaping mouth whilst reaching towards me with both of its hands at the same time.

[Fingers: Water Strings] [Tidal Strike] [Aetheric Infusion]

My daggers were coated with sizzling water, and as I swung down into the beast's mouth, I roped in a few strings of water that were infused with aether. They traveled down into the beast's esophagus, and with the help of the strings, I wormed them down into the beast's stomach.

Now, the only problem was that I was about to be crushed from both sides.

"Just kidding," I smiled before suddenly getting yanked up toward the top of the white facility. I just barely scraped the ceiling as the monster below me began to bloat from the inside. And with a single activation of one of my skills, I saw the monster's cheeks expand and its stomach triple in size. "[Aether Explosion]."

BOOOOOOOM

The monster exploded from the inside out, instantly dying as it obliterated its two hearts and severely burned its lungs. It had no choice but to return to its master as particles of mana flew directly toward a blank wall.

"I would have gotten so many levels if this wasn't a summon…." I grit my teeth. It was annoying, but I had to suck it up as all of my senses besides hearing brought a new presence to my attention.

Experience tales with empire

Instantly, I knew I had to activate something. Anything that would give me the edge against this beast that appeared behind me.

[Spine: Brand of The Angel] [World of Flesh]

One was a reward for interfering with the previous mission, and the other was from my tarot power being the hanged man or something like that. And just from their names, you could tell they were powerful, but I didn't expect them to be utterly game-changing.

"Kekekekeke…"

"Ah… so it was a shaman. I got all worried for nothing," I smiled back at the green monster grinning from ear to ear. Its rotten teeth left a stench in the room, and its overwhelming presence had already been tripled through its extremely powerful buffs.

The Goblin Shaman doesn't sound too powerful in general. I mean, it's just a goblin, right? How could a mere goblin be powerful at all? But no, there was only one Goblin that surpassed even the Goblin Lord… and that was the Goblin Shaman.

The monster grew in size, its warted nose twitching upwards as its entire body distorted into something different. It was now as big as the troll, and with muscles ten times the size of its original body and its staff growing to match the monster's power, it had matched part of the power of its creator.

"The Goblin God. But, it's unfortunate that you went up against me," I licked my lips at the sight of all the foreign mana swirling around the goblin's body. This was its source of indescribable power… and it was something so easily manipulatable for a being like me.
