Natural Disaster: I Started By Hoarding Tens Of Billions Of Supplies

Chapter 380: Realization

Chapter 380: Realization

Yao Ran paused for a moment before adding, "I also want to recruit your brothers from the First and Second Armies. Now that we know Du Zhaoyi is a member of The Ark, letting these soldiers work for him will only give Du Zhaoyi the opportunity to use them as his chess pieces and weapons."

Long Yu nodded and then asked, "Then what will you do when the sandstorm passes?"

Clenching her hands, Yao Ran answered firmly, "I want to go to Yucheng City."

Hearing this, Long Yu stared at her and asked, "Are you ready to face the people from The Origin?"

"Yes. I need to uncover the truth behind my grandpa's decision to establish the Yao Security Company," Yao Ran replied, determination shining in her eyes.

Seeing her determination, Long Yu said, "Alright. I will inform Huang Qian and the others about our next steps."

Yao Ran nodded. "Mhm."

While Yao Ran and Long Yu continued with their daily routine, Yuan Rihui was as busy as a bee.

After informing Ling Yi about his decision to join Long Yu's team and Yao Ran's plan to establish a mercenary group, he sought out Chen Zizhen to coordinate their tasks.

Meanwhile, as everyone busied themselves with their respective duties, Du Zhaoyi was in the middle of a phone call.

"Director Gao, I have found the woman you are looking for," he said while looking at the report.

Sitting in his office, Gao Shuwei's hands froze when he heard what Du Zhaoyi said. His eyes flickered briefly before he asked, "Where?"

"At my place," Du Zhaoyi answered calmly.

When Du Zhaoyi said that, Gao Shuwei fell into deep thought. After receiving no response, Du Zhaoyi asked, "Director Gao, do you want me to bring her to you?"

"No. Just observe her and report to me if anything happens," Gao Shuwei replied after a long silence.

Hearing this, Du Zhaoyi's eyes flashed with interest and curiosity, but he responded calmly, "Understood."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

After saying that, Du Zhaoyi ended the call. He tapped the table slowly and muttered, "You spent a lot of resources to find her, but now that I have given you the answer, you just want to observe her. Gao Shuwei, what are you planning?"

While Du Zhaoyi speculated about Gao Shuwei's intentions, Gao Shuwei appeared to realize something. He frowned, then opened a secret file on his computer. As he read through it carefully, his eyes widened in realization.

After a moment of silence, he suddenly chuckled and muttered, clearly in a good mood, "No wonder everything is not the same as before. Looks like I can get what I want this time."

Calming himself, he picked up his phone and dialed a number. When the call connected, he said, "Brother, keep an eye on Du Zhaoyi for me. Make sure he doesn't act without orders."

The person on the other end replied, "Alright."

"Thanks."

After hanging up, Gao Shuwei leaned back in his chair and rubbed his tired eyes. Breathing a sigh of relief, he whispered, "Grandpa, I hope you are making the right decision this time."

A week later, Yao Ran was awakened by a commotion outside. Opening her eyes, she looked at her watch and saw that it was already six in the morning. Seeing that the place beside her was empty, she went to the bathroom to wash her face.

Afterward, she went to the living room but couldn't find Long Yu. Soon, she spotted a small note on the table and read it.

[Ran Ran, something happened. I'm going out to check it. If you awake, wait for me to come back.]

After reading the note and learning that Long Yu had gone out to check something, Yao Ran returned to the bedroom and entered her space to tend to the animals and crops. By the time she emerged, Long Yu had already returned.

As she appeared back to the bedroom, Yao Ran overheard faint voices in the living room. Curious, she walked over. When the people in the living room saw her, they greeted her

warmly.

Surprised to see them, Yao Ran asked, "Captain Li, Brother Yuan, Boss Ling, Chen Zizhen- what brings you all here today?"

After she took a seat beside Long Yu, Shi Xuan replied, "We came to discuss what to do now that the sandstorm had disappeared."

Hearing this, Yao Ran said, "That's good news. When can we leave the underground shelter?" At her question, the others exchanged glances. Noticing their hesitant expressions, Yao Ran turned to Long Yu and asked, "What's wrong?"

Long Yu replied, "The sandstorm is gone, but eternal night has begun."

As his words sank in, Yao Ran felt her heart drop.

Compared to other natural disasters, eternal night wasn't the deadliest, but it brought out the worst in people and slowed crop growth.

Without sunlight, survivors would rely heavily on electricity. However, gasoline was limited, and solar generators were useless during the eternal night. With no light or food, chaos would

soon erupt.

"What will the base do now?" Yao Ran asked after a moment of thought.

Of everyone present, only Li Tianyu had access to such information.

Under everyone's gaze, he replied calmly, "The underground shelter depends heavily on electricity, so Commander Xu, Commander Du, and the senior officers have decided to relocate everyone back to the surface. However, the base will no longer provide supplies daily for them."

"The gates will remain open for 24 hours, and survivors can leave at any time, but the soldiers won't be responsible for the safety of those who leave the base."

After hearing this, Yao Ran considered the situation and asked, "Captain Li, do you know when the relocation will begin?"

"If nothing changes, it should be by noon today," Li Tianyu replied.

Noticing her deep in thought, Long Yu asked, "Ran Ran, do you have a plan?"

Coming out of her thoughts, Yao Ran nodded. "I want to leave this place before the base makes an official announcement."
