Natural Disaster: I Started By Hoarding Tens Of Billions Of Supplies

Chapter 378: Yuan Rihui’s Anger

Chapter 378: Yuan Rihui’s Anger

After filling half the room with food, Yao Ran took out boxes of common medicines, including antipyretics, antibiotics, alcohol, bandages, and ointment for external injuries and bruises.

Chen Zizhen stood frozen in surprise when he saw this scene, realizing for the first time that Yao Ran was a space ability user.

Before he could react, Yao Ran filled the remaining empty space with diluted lake water. She then instructed, "This is a special water that can improve health. Make sure it's only used for drinking or cooking."

Hearing this, Chen Zizhen quickly nodded and said, "Understood."

Having completed her task, Yao Ran added, "These supplies should last for at least a week. We are living in Sector A, Area 5, number 20. When you have used up the supplies, come find us there."

Chen Zizhen's eyes flickered for a moment upon hearing that they lived in Sector A. He then nodded and said, "I understand."

With her instructions given, Yao Ran said, "It's getting late. We will take our leave now." "I will escort you two out," Chen Zizhen offered as he locked the warehouse door.

Since Sector F was less organized than Sector A, Yao Ran didn't refuse his offer. With Chen Zizhen leading the way, they reached the entrance of Sector F in no time. After bidding their goodbyes, Yao Ran and Long Yu returned to Sector A.

Back at their residence, they locked the door and went to the space to wash away the pungent smell on their bodies. Once they were clean, they left the space and appeared in the bedroom.

Looking at the only bed in the small bedroom, Long Yu hesitated before glancing at Yao Ran. Watching her calmly prepare the bed with a fresh cover and sheets, he tentatively asked, "Ran Ran, where do I sleep tonight?"

Yao Ran paused and then turned to look at him. Noticing his blushing face, she smirked and replied, "On the bed."

Long Yu's eyes lit up immediately at her words. A moment later, he calmed down and asked, "You... Are you sure you want to share the bed with me?"

After taking out the pillows, Yao Ran sat on the bed and asked back, "Didn't we share a bed before, back when I fainted? Why? Don't you want to?"

"Of course I want to!" Long Yu blurted out without thinking.

Looking into her calm eyes, Long Yu's fast heartbeats slowly calmed down.

Sitting beside her on the bed, he gently held her hand and played with her fingers for a moment before whispering, "Thank you for trusting me."

Yao Ran smiled warmly at his words. Leaning in, she kissed his cheek. Watching him blush again, Yao Ran chuckled and teasingly said, "Let's eat first before sleeping."

Without waiting for Long Yu's response, she retrieved a prepared meal from her space and quickly arranged their dinner. After eating, Yao Ran turned off the small lamp in the bedroom. Lying beside Long Yu, they embraced each other and drifted into a peaceful, dreamless sleep.

Life inside the underground shelter was monotonous but fulfilling.

For the next two days, Yao Ran, Long Yu, and Shi Xuan trained in their residence. With just the two of them present, Yao Ran and Long Yu spent most of their time in Yao Ran's space, tending to the farmland, fish pond, and animal husbandry.

On the third day, the guest Yao Ran had been expecting finally arrived.

Seeing Yuan Rihui standing outside, Yao Ran stepped aside and said, "Please come in, Brother Yuan."

Entering the living room, Yuan Rihui spotted Long Yu sitting there and greeted him, "Brother Long."

Long Yu looked up from the book he was reading and raised an eyebrow at Yuan Rihui's haggard appearance. Placing the book on the table, he asked, "Brother Yuan, you don't look well."

Yuan Rihui pulled out a chair and sat down in front of him. Accepting the glass of water Long Yu poured for him, he took a big gulp and waved his hand tiredly.

"Don't even mention it. Working with those wealthy people is exhausting. It's really not a job for humans."

After closing the door, Yao Ran joined them, sitting beside Long Yu, and asked, "What happened?"

Yuan Rihui sighed and recounted what had happened these few days. "Three days ago, after we relocated to Sector B, there were three assassination attempts targeting me and my elder cousin. Can you believe it? Three assassination attempts in just half a day!"

Looking at his bloodshot eyes from lack of sleep and pale complexion, Yao Ran asked, "Do you know who sent the assassins?"

Yuan Rihui nodded, "It was my clients."

Confused by his answer, Yao Ran curiously asked, "Why would your clients want to assassinate you? Wouldn't they be cutting off their own supply line by doing that?"

Her question made Yuan Rihui's anger flare. Clenching his fists, he replied, "Miss Yao, you may not know."

"The relationships among those people are incredibly messy. Just because they can't eliminate their enemies, they target me instead. It's cowardly, and it makes me furious!"

"So, are you going to stop doing business with them?" Long Yu asked.

Yuan Rihui snorted, his eyes gleaming with malice. He sneered and said, "Of course not. I will keep doing business with them—but at ten times the original price. Let's see how long they can keep their arrogance when I empty their pocket!"

Seeing his anger, Yao Ran and Long Yu exchanged glances.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

After a moment of silence, Yao Ran asked, "Brother Yuan, you didn't come here just to vent about your clients, did you?"

At her words, Yuan Rihui's anger vanished instantly.

He smiled and said, "Miss Yao, thanks to the supplies you provided earlier, I gained access to the secret society and joined it. Through its members, I successfully identified people connected to The Ark."

He pulled a file from his backpack and placed it on the table. While Yao Ran and Long Yu read through it, Yuan Rihui waited patiently, sipping his water.
