Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 968 Fun, food, and anger

[Eon's POV: ]

"Hmm~. Hmmm~."n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Festivals.

They are special occasions of feasting or celebration, often with a religious or cultural focus. That's the basic thing that we learn about the festival in our Culture, society, and history class.

'They are important things as we have learned, and I think we all understand that much already."

They bring people together, transcending cultural and religious differences, and create a sense of unity and shared joy… and much more actually.

"Woooooooooooow!"

"Come here, oh friends come here~! We have the best craft works of the century!"

"Fresh skewers! Twenty points only!"

"Hahaha! Did you see that guy~! Hahaha! So funny~."

In the academy where students from all kinds of backgrounds gather, in this blessed place where all kinds of beings from all over the world gather on special occasions, diversity and shared joy are a common thing actually.

'In the academy, we have things that transcends common sense during what people call a 'festival' actually.'

Festivals are an expressive way to celebrate glorious heritage, culture, and traditions, rejoicing in special moments and emotions with loved ones. And in the academy that concept is elevated to the highest standard possible.

-Whaaaaaa!

-Wooooooooooo~!

-SHAAAAAAAAA…

A garden area filled with people, stalls set on distant paths, people lining up to get a taste of the fun things they had prepared, and with their unique performances, the students as well as the teachers were making this entire academy garden of ours an entirely new kind of place.

"How about we try Lizzy's fried rice bowl this time~!"

"Hey no! That line's too long!"

"Why would we have to stand in a line~. That's practically our stall~."

There were people and where there are people, food, drinks, and water is needed.

There were free water facilities, but they didn't matter to the guests when there were various stalls selling water that was made with magic, with their spirits, was from their familiars, or was directly obtained from the groundwater somewhere in this very garden.

They didn't even pack the water… bastards were selling the water in glasses that were covered in spells and enchantments!

'A few of them with good packaging were selling those things for a few Wisdom coins, a few hundred gold in the empire's currency.'

And, people were actually purchasing that simple water at that absurd price, hahaha~.

They were quite genuinely making bank right now.

'Learning about the economy and currency was a good thing. At the very least, as long as someone was attending all the classes, they would make enough money from these kinds of big events to last for the rest of their years in this academy.'

They just needed to manage their money well and not fall for various fraudulent schemes.

'Well, if they do fall to some scammer somewhere on this island, the academy wouldn't do anything about it and just tell them to consider this a learning experience.'

Which was right since along with how to raise money and how to handle it, all of us were also taught how to identify and scam the scammers, something we would actually need in our lives outside the academy.

"Uriel… look at that line, girl. We shouldn't-."

"Shut up and just follow me." She just dragged me with her to the back of the shop through the long line, and then went inside the stall without paying any attention to the ones standing guard.

"Hmm? Oh! You two! Perfect timing!"

Unlike the others, Liz was actually selling something that was a once in a lifetime experience, not just some simple food bowl.

"Help me with this! Gimme your ten minutes." She slammed an ID sticker on us and positioned us before a certain crowd.

"You two are good with languages, right? Please deal with them. Please!"

She had gotten better after the midterms where she made a well prepared dish, and presented it even better.

She could even go and compete for the title of a Master now, she had become that good actually.

And, with all her creativity, knowledge that she had learned from us, as well as her passion for this craft, she had come up with this unique product.

"What are we getting in exchange or helping you?" Rein had a smirk as she asked her that while I continued taking orders from the individuals who could not speak the common languages.

They were mostly beast kins, or common people from a different land so they might not understand a lot that was going on.

{ "How can we help you, sir?" }

But, they were still customers, and since it seemed like the person that was helping her all this time was taken to the infirmary due to some complications, we were like a godsend help for her at the moment.

"You two are amazing~."

Knowing a lot of languages and being fluent with them were two different things, yet I could speak any language there thanks to my knowledge of the truth of the Origin true energy, and rune knowledge.

Rein could understand anything that she could see thanks to her special eyes, even the words and languages, and then she copied them with her Mana technique.

It was a simple thing, unlike how everyone made it out to be, but for those who didn't understand it, this was the same as using a skill.

And, we didn't explain something that couldn't be put into simple words in the first place.

"Looks like we need some of the special ones here, Liz!"

"Yes! Coming right up!"

She wasn't preparing bowls of rice as most of the people here were doing, and she wasn't using costly packaging that had spells and enchantments on them.

Those were costly things and since she didn't have that much money, she had used a special alchemy technique to freezed the rice that she had already prepared, and dried the soup that would go into it.

'It already existed in the east, but with her own packaging and new method that was actually more organic and diversely acceptable by the greater masses, she had remade the cup rice.'

This was one of the big things, and half of the people that were interested in this product were particularly those who could see how they all could carry this thing around and store it for a long enough time to last for a few days.

The only thing they needed to prepare then was warm water, and if the conditions were right, they could get it in any place they were in regardless of the geological conditions.

'It was a great product, and she could sell it on a much larger scale than this if she wanted.'

But that was something that we can discuss some other time.

"Hmm? Hey…!"

We were helping Liz, but we weren't here to do this.

We just dropped by to see what was going on and were going to go our own way as soon as we were done here, but while we were at the counter looking at these special bunch of people, Tia somehow arrived near the counter and ended up seeing us.

"Oh shit…"

It wasn't even half an hour ago that we argued with her over how we had a lot of things to see and do today and could not help her with her own counter, so she was angry at us already.

"How can you two do this to me?!"

She wasn't supposed to be here.

In all this commotion, I didn't even notice her, and Rein didn't either.

She was small so she just flew to us while ignoring all those people before the counter and directly grabbed my collar as if I was a heinous criminal.

"You said you two had other plans! You said you weren't going to work in any other stall! You ESPECIALLY said you weren't going to do anything with food!

Then…! Then…! What the hell is this?!"

She was angry, and since despite her small size her raw strength was greater than mine, it hurt when she was pulling my collar like that.

"Tia! Is that how you behave at your friend's counter?!"

Rein got angry over this behaviour as well, and even Lizzy shouted a moment later.

"That's right! What is the meaning of this, Tia!"

There were so many customers waiting for their orders and there were limited people here!

And among all of this, she was causing another scene?!

"For goodness's sake Tia! My helper just got punched in the face by a stranger!"

There was some chaos here and as I could see, Tia's own counter was getting crowded with people that the rest of her people couldn't handle.

It was also something related to food, but along with a lot of Pixidust involved so it was a big attraction for the guests who considered fairies in general to be a rare sight.

There were not that many of them out in the common places, though one could see some on the island of magic's wealth.

But then again, they were all just fairies that still preferred to do what they wanted to do.

"Haaaa! Just stop it! I don't have energy to deal with anything right now!

There were customers here, and the festival was just starting right now.

'The business was booming, and if they messed around like that, how would they maximise their profits?!'

I can tell that's what Liz wanted to shout right now, but didn't.

She just picked Tia from her dress, off my collar, and threw her out of her stall.

Right now, at the very least, business was the priority.
