Chapter 967 First festival in academy
[Eon's POV: ]
"It looks fun, doesn't it?"
Dawn of the first festival of our academy days, the first ever event where we will have people from the island and outside coming to the academy.
"It sure does look pretty, alright."
There are going to be a lot of people present today, and that much is the most basic thing.
The people and the environment are going to play a big role in the Plan, and what is going to happen today might just decide how our semester at least would go.
"Well… it would have been more fun if we were down there instead of here."
-Swiiiiiiiiiiiiish…
At a high floor of the academy, we were finishing up with the last bit of cleaning that we had started yesterday,
And, something that was going on for more than a week now.
"Hey you two! What are you doing there! Come here and help me!"
Cradle and the President were with us, and the rest of the student council members were doing their own jobs work in the other parts of the academy.
Down in the garden, many people had already started gathering outside the gate, ready to enter as soon as the gate opened.
They were the guests and audience that had come to the academy especially for this festival, and, to accommodate all these people, all the class had done their best with the preparations, decorations, with the stalls that were set all around the garden, and the special attractions that were made with the discussion among students with the Presidents.
"Del, let them rest now. They have worked hard all night!"
Yesterday was also one of the nights where we didn't get to sleep.
'We were first chasing after some dangerous people that would have ruined the festival, and then we were peeling and cutting vegetables.
'The council presidents were helping the students in their own way, and they asked for our help for this one last thing.'
The cooking was going to start soon, and with people starting their special special food stalls, for various food and entertainment items, there was going to be a fun air to this exciting event.
'The news about various special items was already spread all over the island, so the rumours about it should have spread to all of the tourists that would be visiting today.'n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Some would look forward to certain things, some would go and meet the people that they had heard about, and depending on the popularity of the students and the advertising of their stalls and products, the profits that they earn would vary greatly.
But, thankfully, the two of us were simply going to enjoy the festival as students.
"You can just leave them there, Cradle. We will inform the students to come and get them from here."
With the preparations for the festival complete both in the ascent and outside on the island, we were prepared to face the Cult and whatever schemes they have cooked up.
'We know what they are planning at the very least, so if luck is on our side, we might not need to worry about anyone finding out about what goes on outside of the academy premises either.'
Not everyone present on the island is going to be present in the academy at once, but there are going to be a lot of people inside here.
With the exception of the academy premises, the rest of the island is going to be in quite a dangerous position.
'Neither Rein, Presidents nor I will be joining the elders in the battle, but we received permission to watch over everything else from a safe distance.'
And that safe distance is going to be the top of the academy castle.
According to the headmaster, the battle is going to commence as soon as the Cult makes their first move since they know about our intentions.
'The battles would take place in the outskirts, in an area with the least populated beasts.'
It was a barren area where nothing much existed in the first place, be it the plant life or the beast life.
From what we know, they were going to engage in the summoning ritual in that place, and as soon as it starts, the battle would begin.
'I don't know what kind of plan, strategy, or tactics they are going to use since all of us will be mere spectators, but I'm hoping to learn from them as much as I'm looking forward to this fun festival.'
Plus the class competition and the older graduates that will be visiting… there are so many fun things to look forward to that I don't even know how to enjoy all of these things.
"Lucifer, I'll need your help with one last thing."
"Hmm? President?"
Now that the work was done and the headmaster was also ready for his side of the plan, we were free to go back, freshen up, and come back for the rest of the festival.
But president Zod stopped me when I was about to leave with Rein.
"I have to go down and brief the staff members over how they should assist the students.
Can you help me with it? Shouldn't take too long."
It was a simple favour, and since we were going to go down anyway, there was no reason to refuse it.
"Yeah, sure."
Rein was going to chat with Cradle anyway and help her move the big pots filled with chopped vegetables.
There were preservation spells cast on these things so there's no need to think about them.
"I'll wait down there Uriel!"
"Yes! I'll be there in a minute!"
The higher floors of the academy castle weren't accessible to the first years since most of the facilities here were used when doing things that we would only learn in the second and third years.
The view here was amazing so, since we have permission to come here anytime we want as a student council member, we hang out here sometimes when we have nothing to do.
The biggest open room of the castle was on this floor, so we were using it for the food preparations until now, but now that all that is done, the students will take care of their own things.
"So…"
"I knew it. There's something more you wanted to talk about."
Well, it was obvious from how he asked specifically me and not both of us.
"Haha, it's nothing serious. I just wanted to ask what you're going to do today… you know, besides being a spectator."
He was asking me what We were going to do when we weren't observing the battle that's most probably going to go on from late morning to late evening or something.
We aren't going to watch the whole thing, obviously, but we will keep an eye on everything that goes on through Celes and Ray's vision.
'With the two of their abilities combined, we can connect everyone remotely as well and show them what someone else was seeing at the moment.'
It's going to be a simple thing with these two, and thanks to their abilities, we might also be able to experience the battle from some certain Perspectives.
"Oh well… there's a lot of things we are looking forward to actually."
The class competition is going to go on from the start of the festival to the very end of the night.
The judges that are going to come will observe everything that the classes have done in all of this time, judge their importance and impact depending on certain bases, and after that, they will cast their votes through the ranking of the twelve classes.
According to the votes, we will get the winners and since the calculations will be done through Sir Quesnel, no one would have to worry about the partiality or prejudice.
"Starting from the various stalls that our friends and the others set up, Uriel and I are planning to go to the teacher's banquet hall, the vice headmaster's collection room, as well as the secret horror chamber of Sir Quesnel.
It's pretty much a date for us, and I think it's going to be the same for most of the other people as well."
I don't know why he would ask something like this when he wasn't even interested in these things, but well, he should have some fun as well.
Just working and worrying about things wasn't a good thing.
Besides, I don't want him or Cradle to just sit there and worry about things outside the academy when there's going to be a ton of fun things going on in here.
"You and Cradle should have some fun as well, you know? I've heard Miss Vivian is going to bring her special tamed beats and her former colleagues and classmates are all going to bring their pets and familiars as well.
It's going to be a fun place there as well. You two should go and visit that place."
Uriel and I will go there as well, of course, but we didn't know at what time we will get to go there in this tight schedule.
There was a looooooot of things to see and experience, and so little time.
'President and Cradle have unique circumstances so 'attraction' isn't going to be a thing between them, but at least, as best friends, they should experience the second last festival in their academy life.'
They are going to go in a few months anyway… they should make the best of what little time they have left in this amazing place.
