Chapter 48
C48 – God Koizeit’s Trial
The Legacy of God Koizeit!
As Qiang Nantie transformed into a beam of light, he was whisked away into the inheritance space.
“You’ve entered the inheritance space and have become a member of the Wind Tribe.”
Is that all there is to it?
How was he supposed to complete the inheritance without any further guidance?
With no other option, he’d have to adapt his plan as events unfolded.
Qiang Nantie examined himself, realizing he had reverted to a primitive state!
His clothes had been replaced by animal hides, with just enough to cover his modesty.
His physique had become notably more upright, particularly in certain areas.
He felt his strength was immense, yet he could no longer connect with his Heart of Overlord, rendering his equipment skills unusable.
Surveying his surroundings, he found himself in a barren landscape where the spiritual energy was incredibly rich.
Wandering about, he came upon a cliff and noticed a man clad in animal skins. Strikingly, the lower half of the man’s body was that of a serpent.
“Could this be Anytus?”
Driven by curiosity, Qiang Nantie approached and inquired, “Excuse me, are you Anytus?”
The man faced him, revealing a countenance of handsome features and apparent wisdom.
“From which tribe do you hail? What is it that you seek from me?” Anytus inquired with a warm smile.
“It is you, Anytus!”
A surge of excitement filled Qiang Nantie’s heart. Anytus was a patriarch of civilization! He never imagined he’d have the opportunity for a face-to-face exchange with such an illustrious figure.
He knew of Anytus as a man of profound wisdom, often sought after for counsel. Anytus seemed to assume Qiang Nantie was another seeker of wisdom.
Taking a seat, Qiang Nantie said, “I didn’t come to pose questions. I noticed you’re deep in thought here. Could you share what’s on your mind? Perhaps I could offer some assistance?”
After all, it was Anytus’ legacy that had brought him here, and only through engaging with Anytus could Qiang Nantie hope to complete the Trial.
It was a chance he had to take.
Anytus was genuinely taken aback, as no one had ever approached him quite like this before.
“What is your name?” Anytus asked, studying Qiang Nantie intently.
“I’m Qiang Nantie, of the Prime Ribbon Tribe. Are you contemplating the cosmos?” Qiang Nantie ventured boldly.
Upon hearing Qiang Nantie’s musings, Anytus inquired, “How do you perceive this world?”
Qiang Nantie paused to consider before responding, “It can be categorized in many ways. It really depends on which aspect you’re referring to.”
“Isn’t it all just one world?” Anytus was genuinely perplexed by Qiang Nantie’s statement.
With a smile, Qiang Nantie explained, “The ground beneath our feet is the earth, and the expanse above is the sky. Yet humans, animals, trees, flowers, grass—anything, really—can be considered a world unto itself.”
Qiang Nantie’s insight seemed to unlock a new realm of understanding for Anytus, who suddenly grasped many previously elusive concepts. He closed his eyes, lost in thought for an extended period.
“Did I misspeak?” Qiang Nantie wondered to himself.
As a man of future generations, he had the advantage of standing on the shoulders of giants, possessing an understanding of the universe that was beyond the ancients’ grasp.
Yet it was from the time of Anytus and the early humans that all these things began.
Without their cultural foundation, the splendor of future ages would not exist.
After what felt like an eternity, just as Qiang Nantie suspected Anytus had dozed off, a burst of golden light emanated from Anytus, unleashing a powerful energy that catapulted Qiang Nantie dozens of meters, leaving him sprawled on his back.
He found his head buried in a hole excavated by a groundhog.
Swiftly, a force seized his ankles and extricated his head from the burrow.
“My apologies, I lost control,” Anytus said with regret.
“No harm done. I’m just glad I could be of assistance,” Qiang Nantie replied, spitting out the dirt from his mouth.
So this is what it feels like to eat dirt?
“I’m truly grateful to you. You possess such extensive knowledge!” Anytus exclaimed with joy.
Qiang Nantie couldn’t help but think that if Anytus had been born in the future, he would have surpassed him in strength.
“Brother!”
At that moment, a melodious voice called out. Qiang Nantie turned to see yet another stunning woman, with the head of a human and the body of a snake, clad in animal skins and surpassing even Huamo in beauty.
“Let me introduce you. This is my wife, Monima,” Anytus announced.
“Hello, Monima,” Qiang Nantie promptly greeted her.
Monima, too, was a figure of legend, yet he was uncertain whether her creation of humans from earth was fact or myth.
She was truly beautiful, as pure and ethereal as a fairy.
Monima smiled at Qiang Nantie and then said, “Our tribe’s food supply is running low. The Lord is summoning everyone for a hunt.”
“Alright,” Anytus responded.
“I’ll join you,” Qiang Nantie declared.
Together, they arrived at the heart of the tribe.
The tribe was rudimentary, with houses of straw that offered scant protection against the elements.
Though he was a stranger to them, the tribe accepted him as one of their own.
As he journeyed, he watched Anytus and Monima, noting that while Anytus possessed great wisdom, his true capabilities had yet to manifest, with many discoveries still beyond his reach.
He noted that the era’s constraints meant the tribe’s people were not particularly clever.
Most were straightforward, with brawn over brain, not given to overthinking, much less to intellectual pursuits.
In the tribe, a few wise souls like Anytus served as its leaders.
Among them, several bore the serpentine visage of Monima and Anytus, piquing his curiosity.
The Lord gathered the tribe’s robust young men, arming them with rudimentary wooden tools tipped with stone spearheads, and led them up the mountain to hunt.
Their sustenance was singularly derived from the hunt.
The aging patriarch entrusted the hunting to Anytus, and the men readied themselves for the task ahead.
After Anytus and Monima exchanged farewells, Anytus approached Qiang Nantie, weapon in hand, and instructed, “Stay close to me.”
“Understood,” Qiang Nantie acknowledged.
Perhaps it was only by shadowing Anytus and witnessing his evolution that Qiang Nantie could triumph in this Trial.
The ancient tribe lacked for nothing in the way of untamed forests and formidable beasts.
They ventured into the woods, led by those with seasoned knowledge.
Qiang Nantie soon realized he was the least formidable among the tribe’s sturdy folk, a humbling revelation for someone who once took pride in his own robust stature.
It was only then that he recognized his own arrogance.
The primitive people were equipped with mere simple weapons, lacking even the most basic footwear like grass shoes. Qiang Nantie did indeed wish to leverage his experience to bolster the tribe’s strength, yet he believed that the purpose of this Trial was not to engage in such tasks.
He ought not to squander his time on these trivial matters.
His focus should be on following Anytus with a clear conscience. It was only by doing so that he could expedite the completion of his Trial.
