Yugioh Card Summoner

CH.5 Out of the Forest

CH.5 Out of the Forest

As we made our way through the forest, the time Kagemusha stayed summoned quickly ran to an end. This forest didn’t have any fruits because all the trees were evergreen, mostly spruce. I did find some wild berries, but they are not super filling. At least they were not poisonous. Kage did take the role of poison tester even thought system said the berries are fine. When the time was up a card appeared under Kagemusha.

“This is goodbye, Master. I hope to serve you again.”

“Yes, Kagemusha of the Blue Flame. You have served me well. I also hope I get the opportunity to summon you again.”

Kagemusha lowered himself back to the kneeling position that he had been in when he was summoned and then entered the card on the ground. As that happened, his card in my right hand also vanished. I kinda was hoping the card would stay sense I said I would summon him again. I don’t even know if it will be him again or some alternative world version of him that I summon, if I get another Kagemusha of the Blue Flame.

As I keep walking, I finally decide to ask system about the cards disappearing.

“System support, do you know if there is a way to keep the cards from disappearing after using them?”

(Masters skill is not a normal part of this world. Information on finer points is not available. If Masters skill works like most skills in this world, it should get better as Master uses it and as Master levels up.)

“So level ups and usage. Or I’ll have to get used to saying goodbye to servants like him. Well let’s hope for the best. It would also be nice to be able to use spells multiple times. I can just imagine unlimited uses of Pot of Greed. So many packs…”

As I was daydreaming about something I knew will never be, system support pulled me out of it.

(Master, you need to keep walking if you want to make it into town today.)

“Yeah…”

(Master, 3 goblins ahead. Please course a little more to the right to avoid them.)

“Sure” I answered in a quiet voice to systems recommendation.

Our walk through the forest has gone on for an hour more, saying goodbye to Kage. With system supports help, I haven’t run into any monsters and these goblins were the first we had to change course to avoid. This forest really isn’t a home to very many beasts. It really might be too overgrown for them. But shouldn’t that make it a great place for small herbivores and beasts that hunt them. Actually what do monsters eat? System did warn me about a goblin group, but what were they doing? Hunting or maybe scouting? Do these goblins need to kidnap females to reproduce?

(Master, goblins do have females, but they can also reproduce with humanoid females of other races, so goblins do sometimes kidnap females. However the group we avoided is too small to be a kidnapping group, because even a young female could kill two or three goblins.)

“Even if they are unarmed?`”

(Unarmed three might be difficult but one is easy.)

“Why do goblins even need to kidnap people if they have females of their own?”

(Goblins born from females of other races have a high likelihood of being hobgoblins.)

“So cross-species reproduction is good evolution. Good to know.”

(No Master. Hobgoblin is not an evolved goblin, it is its own species.)

“Then how is one born between a goblin and a human?”

(Unknown. Hobgoblins might simply be abnormally large goblins and a bigger human body is more likely to give birth to one.)

“God, goblin biology must be a mess.”

(Yes you are right master for example…)

“Stop it! I don’t want to know. My brain is already fried with stupid goblin info. All I need to know is that they are bad and should be killed. I almost want to turn back and kill the three we left back there.”

(I can not recommend that. The edge of the forest is only 200 meters away from us.)

“That should make moving easier. I can also summon a panda to ride. Beast taxi for the win.”

(Are you sure you can use your summons so freely master? You don’t have many left.)

“I still have three pack tokens and the panda will make sure that no monsters try to attack me on the way to town. I can also open those packs while riding a panda, which would be more difficult to do while walking.”

It’s actually kinda interesting that I’m not super tired from all this walking. Taking the dungeon into consideration I have been walking for little over three hours now. I definitely should be more tired by now. Did my body improve that much from 2 level ups? Or was it upgraded by the world hopping?

The overgrown forest came to an end and we entered plains with some trees still around, but at least I could see more than 50 meters ahead of me. The trees are also different from the trees in the forest. In the forest the trees were evergreens, mainly spruce or something that looks like spruce. I think there were some pines closer to the dungeon entrance as well. But on these plains looked to be mostly some kind of oaks.

“Are they fruit trees? Some of them have fruits hanging from them?”

(Master they are cabo trees and the fruit is cabo fruit. It is not poisonous, but it tastes very bad. I do not recommend eating them unless you must. The berries in the forest taste much better.)

“Well that sucks. I just wanted some fruit.”

(Master might want to summon another monster now. There are wild boars in this area.)

“Sure. We also should get a move on so we might get to town today.”

I pull Frenzied Panda from my right pocket. I think a panda is more fun to ride than a big turkey. Sorry Skull Red Bird.

“I summon Frenzied Panda.”

The already familiar sight of a card on the ground appeared and from it a large panda rose. The panda was quite large but not as big as Uraby was. He was holding a long bamboo stick and stood at 2,4 meters tall. Not bad at all.

“Hello. Will you let me ride you?”

“Growl.”

The panda responded with a growl and nodded. Then he placed his bamboo stick back into a card that reappeared on the ground for just enough time to take it in. So they can put their weapons away. That’s nice if I ever have a warrior monster with me in a town. I mean they look kinda like humans so they should do fine in towns.

“Can you get that bamboo stick back when you want?”

“Growl”

With another growl Frenzied Panda placed its front paws on the ground and from the quickly appearing card pulled out the bamboo stick. Then he placed it back into the card and got on all fours to let me ride him.

“Okay, let’s roll out!”

(Master, I don’t think we will be rolling.)

“Fine, let's move. You really ruin my references system.”

(I apologize Master, but I simply can not understand them as they are not of this world.)

“So you realize that they are not of this world, but can’t realize not to comment on them. Your thinking process is strange.”

(I apologize, Master. I will try to do better in the future.)

“No, it’s fine. I like that side of you as well.”

(Thank you.) a quiet reply came.

Is system really getting a personality. I need to come up with a name for her if she is, but her voice is just like hers so it would be weird to call her anything but that. But she dumped me. Can I name someone as helpful as the system after her?
