Chapter 156 - GO HOME
"Ma'am ... today I am very happy!" Ellena exclaimed happily, as soon as she got home and immediately met Briana who was busy cooking in the kitchen.
She was so happy she immediately hugged her mother from behind, making the middle-aged woman surprised.
"Elle, you really surprised me!" Briana seemed to turn down the stove, then removed Ellena's hand from her stomach, turning her body to face her daughter.
"What's wrong? What makes you this happy, huh?" Briana asked, looking curiously. What actually made Elena look so happy about?
"Finally, I got a job, Ma'am. So, tomorrow I'm already working and I don't have to go around looking for work anymore," replied Ellena with teary eyes, holding back emotion.
Like Ellena, Briana immediately put on a similar expression when she heard the good news. "Is that true?" She asked confirming and immediately got a nod from Ellena.
"Thank God, I'm so glad to hear that, Elle."
"Me too, Ma'am. It turns out that there are still people who want to help and believe in me. Pray for me, Ma'am," Ellena replied, holding her mother's arm.
"Yes, of course. I hope you get a job with a good position, also a kind boss and most importantly you feel comfortable working there," said Briana with a smile that was getting wider.
"Of course I will feel at home. My boss is kind, friendly, and not arrogant like most rich people. I hope the employees are also kind like my boss," explained Ellena confidently.
"Oh yeah? Thank goodness for that, I am also happy." Briana looked sadly at Ellena's face. "Okay, Mother will continue cooking again. You better take a shower, then rest. You must be very tired."She ordered later.
"Ma'am, what are you cooking?" asked Ellena curiously, before agreeing to her mother's orders. Her face looked leaning forward, slightly swerved to the left and right, just to confirm the menu of the dishes in the pan.
"Ah, this is your favorite tofu stew." Briana replied as she turned to face the stove.
"Ah, it feels like my stomach is hungry again." Ellena whispered as she gently rubbed her stomach from outside the shirt. For some reason she suddenly felt hungry again, after seeing her mother's cooking which was very tempting, although not yet ripe. In fact, she had just finished eating an hour ago.
"Hungry again?" Briana looked at Ellena questioningly as if something surprised her. "Do you have eaten?" She asked for sure.
Ellena was silent for a moment, before responding, "Yes, Ma'am. My boss asked me to eat out earlier. I couldn't refuse, because she insisted. I don't think there's anything wrong with accepting Mr. Richard's request, as a thank you for accepting me to work in his office. He also forced me because in return for my help yesterday," explained Ellena at length.
Briana sighed heavily, looking at Ellena a little disappointed.
"Don't be too easy to accept other men's invitations, Elle. Remember! You're still Lucas' legal wife. You just have to prioritize your relationship as a co-worker, you don't need to do anything other than work. Take care of your good name as a wife, and take care of yourself." Your husband's good name, even though you don't live with him right now." Briana advised.
"Yes, Ma'am. I understand what you mean. I promise I will take good care of myself, I won't disappoint Mom and Lucas." Ellena replied with a regretful expression. What her mother said was true. But even she couldn't do anything when Richard forced her.
"Anyway I don't want to see you close with another man when you are still Lucas' wife. No matter how good the man is, you are still the best husband at the moment. Take good care of the honor of your household and believe that one day you will be reunited." Briana gave a serious look while holding Ellena's forearm, hoping that the woman in front of her would understand what she was saying.
"Okay, Ma'am. I promise I will do whatever you ask." Ellena whispered, looking to bend her neck.
Sorry. Hearing Briana's words, she went back to reflecting on what sheì had been through with Richard. Is that wrong? Yes, there seems to be something wrong with him. She shouldn't be too friendly in front of other men, just to not want to make other men chase after her.
Ah, she became guilty. Not only behaviout mother, Lucas would also be very angry if he saw him having lunch with another man.
Ellena seemed to be biting her lower lip which was slightly trembling, trying to neutralize the feeling that was bothering her mind.
'Lucas, I'm sorry." Ellena muttered under her breath.
"Well, don't think about it too much. You'll end up stressed and sick. You'd better take a shower and get some rest!"
Briana's voice immediately made Ellena jump. For a moment his daydream broke. Ske then looked at his mother's face.
"Okay, I'll take a shower first, Mom." Ellena hissed and then walked away from her mother, while Briana resumed cooking activities.
***
Undergoing treatment for a few days, it is very tedious. However, this afternoon Lucas seemed very happy, because he had just received word from the doctor that he had been allowed to go home.
Finally the day he had been waiting for, was now in sight. In just a matter of hours, he would be home soon. In the most comfortable place so far, even though the atmosphere now is not the same as before. The house must have been quiet, because Ellena wasn't there.
No need to think anymore, Lucas immediately asked Alex to immediately finish the hospital administration. It seemed like he couldn't wait to get home. Perhaps he will find something important related to his wife in his house. Yes, he hoped so.
"Are you ready, Lucas?" asked Albert who had been waiting for Lucas for a long time. Beside him, his wife also doesn't want to miss a happy moment for her son.
"I'm ready, Dad," Lucas replied, still sitting on the gurney, but this time he was no longer in the patient uniform.
Meanwhile, beside Lucas appeared Adley who was also ready to pick up his best friend. As soon as he heard the news that Lucas would be returning home today, he immediately went to the hospital after returning from work.
"Come on, let's go out. Looks like Alex will also be finished soon," said Albert.
Lucas immediately agreed to his father's invitation. He appears to be in a wheelchair, pushed out of the room by Adley. While Albert and Veronica seemed to walk flanking him.
Just a few meters from the room, they passed Alex who had just finished paying.
"Are you done, Alex?" Adley asked as he stopped in his tracks, when Alex was standing right in front of him.
"Yes, Mr. Adley. I have finished all the administration," Alex replied, looking at Lucas and Adley in turn. "I have also prepared the car in front," he added later.
"Thanks, Alex," Lucas said.
"Don't say that, sir. It's my job," Alex replied respectfully.
They then left the hospital, towards the car that was parked in front of the main door.
"Lucas, don't you want to share the car with Mommy and Daddy?" Albert asked as Alex opened the car door for Lucas.
"No, Dad. I'll be in the car with Alex and Adley," Lucas refused.
"Okay. Alex, please be careful while driving." Albert looked at Alex warningly.
"Very well, sir," Alex replied, nodding slowly.
Now they are in the car. Lucas was seen sitting alone in the back seat, while Adley and Alex were sitting next to each other in the front seat.
This trip was led by Alex. A few minutes on the way, they didn't talk about anything. They are still busy with their respective activities. Alex was busy driving, Adley was busy playing the gadget in his hand. Meanwhile, Lucas was busy with his thoughts and Ellena was the object.
Didn't expect that he would lose Ellena so quickly, even before the contract period was over. Ah, somehow he can live the days without his wife by his side. A figure that he loves and will always miss his existence.
'Elle, where are you now? Don't you miss me right now? I'm awake, I'm awake from the coma, but why did you just leave me?' Lucas whispered in his heart
"Lucas, even though you're home from the hospital and declared cured, you still can't go straight to work. You have to rest for the next few days, for your health."
Adley's statement immediately made Lucas flinch. He quickly stopped his daydream and focused his gaze ahead. Adley seems to be still focused on the future.
"I don't know. I feel so bored like this all the time. Just lying down, there's nothing to do. I really want to go back to the office.
"Don't be crazy!" said Adley, rolling his eyes back. "You should rest. Shouldn't you also have enough strength to find your wife's whereabouts now?"
"Ahuk, ahuk!"
Alex suddenly coughed in the middle of driving, suddenly distracting Lucas and Adley.
"What are you doing, Alex?" asked Adley, looking seriously at the face of his best friend's personal assistant.
"Oh, it's okay, Sir. My throat is just a little itchy," replied Alex who immediately got a nod of his head from Adley.
"Don't worry, I'll take good care of the company. I'll make sure that there won't be the slightest mistake that disappoints you." Adley said again. Now his gaze had shifted back to Ghibran.
"I trust you. You are indeed the most reliable friend and co-worker." Lucas replied, who already knew how his best friend was. "So, how was the condition of the company during my stay?" He asked curiously.
"The company is under control. Everything is fine." Adley replied confidently. "Oh yes, next Monday I will go to Bogor for a meeting with Mr. Richard." He added to inform.
Lucas frowned while holding his chin as if he was remembering the name Adley had mentioned.
"He is the owner of the largest travel company in Bogor, which will cooperate with our branch company there," said Adley, who seemed to know what Lucas was thinking.
