Chapter 428 428. BINGO

Noah finished the meal without suffering any repercussions from it. It felt funny honestly as he could almost feel Kuis's surprise emanating from his brown eyes.

"It was a nice meal," Noah announced pushing the plate before him forward; having cleared it. He took a deep breath to bask in the delight of the good meal.

The duo had been talking for over an hour, but Noah knew it was probably only to get his mind off whatever side effects of the substance.

It would have worked on someone who wasn't Noah.

"I'm glad you liked it," Kius smiled suddenly standing up.

"Before you leave, as I can see you are ready to. I'd like to give you a little something," Kius announced walking past the table and outside of the room.

Noah wanted to unfold his consciousness, but he refrained from it. He didn't want the man to feel he had suspected something. His instincts were against any rash actions until the totality of the man's vile nature was revealed.

The dining room remained silent, as Tilda continued to eat, silently.

Noah left the young lady alone since he still wasn't certain what part of the plan she was in on.

Kius returned a moment later with a brown bag in his hand.

"I know you said you didn't want money, but this is all I feel I can give for saving my town from destruction," Kius dropped the bag on the ground when Noah's instincts picked something up.

"Tell me, Kius. Why didn't you search for help?" Noah asked waving his hand and storing the bag of gold coins. He was now ready to act.

"What do you mean?" Kius asked, even if his mood plummeted and his eyes almost went cold. That was the first time George had said his name.

"From what I found out, or saw. It would have been easy for someone your level to travel out of this land and get help from somewhere," Noah explained keeping his head facing the table.

Kius fell defensive and slightly startled. "The bandit head usually held calls with me and demanded I showed him my environment. Or else he would kill the hostages," Kius explained calming down at his believable idea.

"I was trapped as it happened at unpredictable times."

An eyebrow rose on Noah's face and Kius's instincts jumped in fear at the sight.

"You could have sent someone," Noah countered.

Kius faked a nervous and embarrassed expression, giving an excuse that Noah considered bull-crap.

"It crossed my mind as I didn't know who I would trust," the man had replied, cringing at his reply. He had single-handedly created a stupid scenario.

"I see," Noah muttered as though he had bought it.

"But you were ready to pay me; an outsider, to do something similar," his words managed to send chills down the man's spine, even his daughter's face had gone dark.

"It's not what you think," Kius tried to find a way out.

"I believe it is, Kius," Noah pushed, he wanted the man to reveal all his cards so he could know what to do.

"It's as if you found your town's state convenient," Noah paused, a smile threatening to appear on his face when he saw Kius's expression begin to turn cold.

"As if you were under an agreement with them, so you let them do whatever they wanted," Noah completed his words, and by this point, Kius had a glare on him.

He had been found out.

"Bingo!" Noah exclaimed making Tilda and her father jerk in fear. But his eyes flickered dangerously when three dark figures appeared out of thin air and converged on his figure.

He let them.

Noah found a series of glowing chains wrapped around his neck, arms waist, and legs.

The items were strong. So much so that even if he had not utilized all his power, they were enough to bring him to his knees without his consent.

He let shock appear on his face as he seemingly struggled to free himself of his binds.

Three auras at the peak of the third tier made him give up in his tries to free himself.

The turn of events had been truly shocking.

A fourth figure appeared beside Kius, and the man now had a sardonic smile on his face, twisting his features and bathing the room in its cynical vibe.

Noah almost felt chills when his eyes landed on the man's expression.

The masked figure whispered something into Kius' ear and the town's head burst into laughter while his daughter rushed to his side. Her face held an expression no less horrible than his.

"For a second there, I thought you would pounce on me like a rabid beast," Kius seemed to release a breath of relief.

Noah glared at him, truly angered. But he pretended to struggle to loose himself since whatever those chains were meant to do, they did not affect him. He felt perfectly fine.

"Ah. Those chains render your mana useless. And you have three individuals at your level. There is probably no greater trouble for you," Kius chucked walking forward, even if he still had caution in his eyes.

"So all I said was true," Noah spoke through his teeth, even if he continued to shake his head at the dead man before him.

"Yes, oh wise one," Kius mocked now relaxed when Noah hadn't jumped on him.

"You aren't the first nor the second. Not even the sixth person to find that out, so it's not exactly shocking that you did."

"Heck, it's more surprising that it took you this long," he walked forward, standing directly over Noah.

"You aren't the first to find out but you're the one who gave me the most trouble," Kius frowned deeply before suddenly hitting Noah across the face. He shrunk back in pain.

Noah had remained still.

Kius uttered a curse as he hissed in pain, before shooting a glare at Noah's figure.

"You're the only one to wipe out the bandits, however, and seemingly very easy at that," Kius continued walking toward the fourth man and asking for a weapon. The man gave him a knife.

"This same knife killed the others. But for the trouble, you've caused me. I'll give it to you later," Kius explained before suddenly swiping the blade at Noah's face.

To the shock of everyone In the room, the knife which had been laced with strong poison broke when it went it hit Noah's face. And the broken portion remained embedded in his face.

Noah frowned at that event but held a strong expression even if the poison had started to seep into his skin causing sharp pain.

Thankfully his body could detoxify 97% of its effects. The remaining three barely did anything to him.

"What the fuck are you made of!" Kius felt forced to ask, as he exchanged glances with the masked men in black attires.

"I'm beginning to understand why Jude had a hard time with you. So much so that he died," Kius hissed still in shock.

Noah could immediately guess who the Jude person was, but he still asked.

"Was that the weak bandit's head," Noah gave a smug grin, one that made the room fall cold.

"Yes," Kius answered rather plainly. "He's the person one of the noble families in on this recommended. They wanted to see your face before you died. You killed one of their precious members."

"Actually all of them you killed belonged to a noble family," Kius explained and his revelation sent Noah's mind reeling in shock.

His revelation put off the masked men, but he waved their worries away.

"He's about to die. There's no need to feel worried," Kius glanced at the masked man farther from him before turning to face Noah with a cruel grin.

"Just like those cursed children he worked with," he revealed and watched with delight, Noah's expression froze before going cold.

"What did you just say," Noah's voice had turned murderous and even held anxiety, even if most of it was hidden by the sudden fury that overwhelmed his existence.

Kius remained ready to reply when his survival instincts suddenly screamed in terror.

Much to the shock and horror of all those watching, Noah's figure exploded into a dense white mist capable of coldness that felt startling.

He ended up turning the entire building into solid ice when he allowed the full power of his passive aura skill, run rampant.
