Transcendent Dawn

Chapter 598: 0598: Infected (Additional 5200, Seeking Monthly Tickets)

Chapter 598: Chapter 0598: Infected (Additional 5200, Seeking Monthly Tickets)

“Is it a dream?”

Lejay gave a bitter smile as he looked at the once again silent room.

However, his pupils quickly shrunk.

A crystal was quietly floating in mid-air where Su Lu had vanished.

“Mysterious…”

He mumbled and reached out to grab it.

Bang!

The crystal was not cold to the touch, instead, it felt warm. But along with the ‘contact’, a terrifying piece of information exploded in his mind.

Profession, mysterious, instant…

After a lot of mysterious knowledge, there was Su Lu’s warning: “To create a world revolution, you can’t do without strength… here is my final gift to you. Of course, you know that the more the mystery spreads, the bigger the door to the world opens, and it could bring even more terrifying dangers… So, it’s up to you.”

This world still possessed a mysterious power, though very faint.

The Royal Family of the Feudal Kingdom Maximilian clearly possessed some transcendent power. If Lejay did not have any self-preservation ability, it would be impossible to carry out any action.

Su Lu had merely passed the mysterious ‘key’ to Lejay.

As for deciding whether to ‘open the door’ and how wide to open it, it was entirely up to him.

Even if he messes it all up in the end, his incarnation can leave at any time, at most letting Lady Moon regain control of another world, without any actual loss.

“But, Son of the World, I hope you won’t disappoint me.”

He gave a slight smile and truly left this camp.

Several months later.

North Territory, outside the ‘City of Hope’.

A huge railway station was built in the distant suburbs, strictly guarded around, almost like a military camp.

Su Lu got off the train from the south to the capital, only to see a group of soldiers wearing fully-enclosed clothing, forcefully dealing with all passengers: “Line up, start the quarantine!”

Most passengers were obedient, those who occasionally had a bad temper and complained a couple of times were immediately subdued with a baton.

Su Lu knew that as a quarantine center, these soldiers could absolutely open fire in emergencies.

This horrible service, if it was performed by private railway companies during peaceful times, the companies would probably go bankrupt. But unexpectedly, it got the support of the majority of the people.

‘These passengers, most of them are from the ‘epidemic area’ or places close to the ‘epidemic area’. Although they have undergone several ‘quarantines’, the City of Hope will not let their guard down.’

Su Lu watched as a line of people entered a certain tent, and then came out one after the other, their faces showing relieved smiles.

Soon, it was his turn.

After entering the tent, the light inside was dim, with soldiers guarding all around, two of them were even standing behind Su Lu, seemingly ready to suppress him to the ground at any sign of abnormality.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

“Pass your identification over, and place your hand on the stone.”

At the center of the tent, there was a person who was dressed much like Lejay, wearing a bird-beak mask.

He looked at Su Lu and spoke with a low voice.

On his desk in front of him, there was only a stack of thick files, ink with a signing pen, a seal, and a white stone.

‘Mysterious power…’

Su Lu placed his hand on the stone and quickly understood; ‘A detection mechanism… It only reacts when the target possesses something ‘special’…’

Ten seconds later, the bird-beaked officer glanced at Su Lu, looked at the unchanging white stone, and heavily struck a dark green stamp reading ‘Quarantine Passed’ on the identification papers that Su Lu had casually gotten.

Su Lu collected his papers and left the tent from the other end.

The passengers seem to have a much better complexion and are showing relaxed smiles. Under guidance, they slowly walked out from behind the rails.

Just as Su Lu was blending into the crowd and walking out of the train station, a shrill whistle sounded.

“Martial law! Martial law!”

“There’s an infected person!”

The soldiers on both sides hurriedly shouted and acted, closing the prison-like metal doors and spraying strong smelling disinfectants.

The passengers were thrown into chaos as they watched all the quarantine windows closed.

Those who were a step too late and hadn’t walked out of the train station looked like prisoners trapped in a cell, gripping the bars and crying out in despair.

“One step heaven, one step hell.”

Su Lu had just made a self-mocking comment when he suddenly saw a line of quarantine soldiers surrounding him. He rolled his eyes, knowing that this group of people also couldn’t avoid a second observation.

In fact, even the train station might be closed for a while.

The whole City of Hope barely maintained the operation of its administrative system in the world stricken by plague due to these extremely stringent rules and regulations.

‘Of course… perhaps there’s also a bit of a mysterious power.’

Su Lu looked in a certain direction.

Over there, a more elite group of occupational individuals rushed over.

They uniformly wore crow-beak shaped masks, their actions far quicker than ordinary soldiers.

‘Royal occupational individuals? Though only first tier, but this aura…’

Su Lu felt it, these ‘bird-beak soldiers’ must have an extremely unusual way of levelling up, perhaps it has something to do with the secrets the royal family hides.

“Current King Jindum, who was unknown when he was the Crown Prince, suddenly became noticeable when the plague came, clearly something is fishy…”

“And, it’s too coincidental.”

Su Lu thought of this, gave a cold laugh, and took advantage of the chaos to disappear from everyone’s field of view.

He wasn’t truly invisible, just using the magic of light and shadow to hide his figure.

Because of the chaos due to the discovery of an infected person, this small abnormality was not noticed by anyone.

By the time the exiting passengers were taken for examination, Su Lu was already on the outskirts of the train station.

He had eyed a ‘bird-beak person’.

The latter was clad in a white uniform, his face with goggles and a mask showed no emotion, he was patrolling around the station.

From all of a sudden, he startled like a cat that just got scared, his whole body going into shock, sensing dangerous approach.

But it was of no use, the next moment, the ‘bird-beak person’ was knocked unconscious and his figure also disappeared into the void.

A shrill whistle rang throughout the surroundings, not long after, a team of kingdom soldiers and occupational individuals rushed over: “Someone attacked Cook… What audacity.”

A bird-beak individual wearing a gold medal roared: “Find him, capture him!”

Wilderness.

“Let’s see what you really look like.”

Su Lu took off a bird-beak mask, suddenly revealing a very sickening face.

The dark red skin appeared as though it was burnt or splashed with sulphuric acid, unhealed muscle tissues and lymph fluids could be seen, it was a face that had been disfigured!

“You should not come out at night, you might scare some children.”

Su Lu exuded inspiration and unsurprisingly found something unusual about him.

“A pathogen? Infected body? Using a kind of disease that won’t spread the plague, stimulating the human body into producing transcendent power… Is this the occupational path possessed by the royal family? Maybe it should be named [Infected]?”
