Chapter 340: Chapter 213: Comprehensive Upgrade (Part 2)_2

Dealing with the opponent, the longer the time, the more troublesome it became. His patchwork mecha couldn’t handle too much time, only a swift battle would offer a chance.
The moment the force field was breached, Monkey’s chip activated as well.
The world seemed incredibly slow at that moment; Monkey could see every reaction of his opponent, evading each retaliatory move with precise counters, until finally grabbing the opponent’s neck and crushing their condensation pipe, followed by yanking out the cockpit.
In Monkey’s perception, this stretch of time lasted a full minute.
After finishing, Monkey’s mecha emitted large amounts of steam, a minute’s overload control pushing it to the brink of collapse.
However, he had calculated the timing precisely. It wasn’t his first time dismantling a Morning Star with bare hands. He knew every weakness of the opponent’s mecha.
So, despite the apparent gap in strength on paper, Monkey wasn’t afraid of the actual fight.
Flexing his wrist, Monkey knew it was time to open the box.
Upon opening the cockpit of the Morning Star, Monkey sighed as he looked at the aging wild boar inside.
The other, looking at Monkey with anger and fear, had no clue why this guy knew him so well.
Shaking his head, Monkey ordered Teddy Bear out of the cockpit and aimed the weapon at the driver.
“If he resists, shoot him, but avoid vital areas,” Monkey instructed.
“Understood, I’m good at this kind of thing.”
Teddy Bear hopped and leaped toward the wild boar pilot, pressing the gun barrel against his head.
Meanwhile, Monkey, carrying the Morning Star, said to the pilot, “Take me to the processing plant, I need the equipment there.”
Listening to that voice, the driver hesitated before saying, “Monkey? Why do you have such strong driving skills?”
In the game, Monkey’s ID was indeed “Monkey,” and according to the plot, the player had a past interaction with the drivers, which was the emotional basis for them willing to help Monkey.
However, now, that emotional basis was of little use.
Making a gesture to Teddy Bear, the latter understood and harshly shoved the driver before threatening fiercely, “Three-legged wild boars are hard to find, but I don’t mind making one.”
“Your jokes are so old,” Monkey said helplessly.
“Quit it, I’ve already said I specialize in dirty jokes!”
Threatened by Teddy Bear, the president of the Scavenger Organization finally made a decision.
“This way.”
Even if NPCs here are constrained by the world’s limitations, they wouldn’t act out of character, with the most likely change being their attitude towards the protagonist.
According to the original plot, the driver was meant to defeat the player and then decide, based on the player’s actions, that the player had talent before leaving the area.
But now, defeated by Monkey, it was filled with fear and fury. To it, Monkey was an enigmatic infiltrator who had painstakingly laid groundwork for years, all to take everything from him today.
Without a word, Monkey entered the scavenger’s recycling station. Before he could speak, Teddy Bear let loose a volley of gunfire into the air, then roared, “Everyone scatter! This is my territory now!”
One of the supervisors who looked at Teddy Bear, about to ask where this toy came from, received a burst of bullets that neatly trimmed the lion’s mane.
Screams erupted; employees scattered in all directions, and the vast factory was left with only Monkey, Teddy Bear, and the president.
Blowing on the gun barrel, Teddy Bear leaned toward Monkey with a proud tilt of his head, “How’s that, pretty good, huh?”
“You’re going to lead kids astray!”
“No worries, you’re already sixteen, time for you to handle a gun.”
“But I can’t hear dirty jokes?”
“Sorry, buddy, rules are rules, nothing I can do about it.”
Monkey didn’t know what kind of memories had been implanted into this Teddy Bear, but something felt off.
Amidst the mechanical roar, Monkey hit the emergency switch, heavy steel plates enveloping the factory, temporarily sealing off access.
Placing the Morning Star onto the machining table, Monkey adjusted the angle and began preparing to disassemble the Morning Star.
Seeing Monkey’s moves, the president shouted anxiously, “What are you planning to do with my beloved machine!”
“`
“Take out the power furnace; it’s the best part of your Mecha, usable even in the later stages of the arena,”
“No! That’s my most precious possession, you can’t do this! Spare my beloved Mecha, do anything to me instead!”
Teddy Bear looked at the chairman, squinting and sizing him up, but before he could speak, he heard the chairman shout, “Forget it, just a power furnace, I’ll give it to you.”
“I haven’t spoken yet!”
“You wouldn’t have anything good to say anyway.”
Monkey ignored the two of them.
No matter what the chairman said, he was going to remove the power furnace and then install it in his own Mecha.
This was the best power furnace one could encounter in the early stages, and for a Mecha, it was like a heart to the human body, even more critical than the heart itself.
With this power furnace, the performance of other parts and chips could be perfectly utilized, and the strength of the Mecha could be further enhanced.
The recycling station’s equipment was for salvaging gear, but before that, it used to be the chairman’s Mecha repair center, which was later converted into a recycling station.
However, with just a little manipulation, its original functionality could return, making it convenient for Monkey to disassemble.
Seeing Monkey skillfully operating the equipment, the chairman exclaimed in surprise, “How come you’re so adept?”
“Done it too many times, got used to it,” Monkey replied.
“When did you do all this!”
“Geez, can you stop being so dramatic?”
As he spoke, Monkey quickly opened up the abdomen of Morning Star and removed the compact power furnace.
He set Morning Star aside and laid his own Mecha on the workbench, then exited the Mecha and began to modify it using the equipment.
Before long, the power furnace from Morning Star was smoothly installed into his own Mecha, some damaged parts were replaced, and a better neural net was crammed in as well.
All these were from the chairman’s collection, and the cost of everything was quite hefty, causing the chairman a great deal of pain to see.
After the modifications were completed, Monkey’s Mecha had undergone a significant transformation.
Although it still looked like a mixed-brand Mecha, its equipment had been upgraded several grades.
The abdomen’s power was especially potent; even a bystander could tell it was the most expensive part on it.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Re-entering the Mecha, Monkey also didn’t forget to extract the chips from Morning Star and install them properly.
The new Mecha’s chip slot had been expanded to four, and apart from the previous Speed-up Chip, the force field chip from Morning Star could enhance the force field’s intensity, the nanochip could enable self-repair for the Mecha, and the Calculation Chip could optimize the Mecha’s structure with its powerful computing ability, boosting the Mecha’s strength by twenty percent.
These were all very versatile chips that he could directly place inside his own Mecha.
After organizing everything, Monkey returned to the cockpit and then initiated the Mecha.
Accompanied by the sound of the water cooling system running, the Mecha was quickly activated, revitalized after the upgrade, making the chairman exclaim uncontrollably, “What a Mecha, what a Monkey!”
Though still filled with dissatisfaction and anger toward Monkey, the chairman still felt an unrealistic sensation seeing him modify his Mecha so swiftly.
After getting familiar with the current composition of the Mecha, Monkey suddenly heard a roaring sound outside.
Looking through the factory’s surveillance system, Monkey saw a large crowd gathering outside, with more than a dozen standard Mechas surrounding the place and preparing to breach forcefully to rescue the chairman.
Moving his joints, Monkey told Teddy Bear to watch the chairman, and he walked out alone.
Watching the monitor, Teddy Bear yawned.
It was just a one-sided slaughter, utterly boring.
A minute later, Monkey returned unscathed and grabbed Teddy Bear and the Boar together in his hand.
Outside, Mecha debris was scattered everywhere; the warriors before had already fled in all directions.
Back on the chairman’s spaceship, Monkey leapt up and caught onto the bottom of the ship, then activated the thrusters and entered the spaceship.
Pointing his weapon at the spaceship’s pilot, Monkey demanded directly, “To the arena.”
