Chapter 94: [Dave's POV]
Chapter 94: [Dave's POV]
The Battle between 'The SpearHead' VS 'The Home Of The Nine Tails' !!.
.....
Of course, Dave knew he would be distressing his parents. But it should have been egregious to them why the vice leader of the number one guild would leave their villa without a word.
...
Dave's legs heated up as he commenced sprinting towards the capital. The dirt flew behind him as he trod the land. Immediately, within a second, his legs crackled, eventually getting swathed in blue and yellow lightning.
Dave bolted through the pathway. His feet ricocheted of trees and walls, leaving cracks behind.
Dave's God gifted Legendary Seed carried the Legendary perk of... 'The Emperor Of Lightning'.
'Davedevil' was a pretty lame name... and Dave utterly despised it. But there was another name for him which was in the rising, a name pertaining itself to that of a legend, a name that was cool for the likes of the crowd and Dave himself.
It was...
'THE LIGHTNING EMPEROR"
.....
"And there he is"
A tall man donned in his SC-rated Armor and an SC-rated broadsword stabbed onto the ground beside him.
Dave landed a few meters behind and away from the tall man and saluted him, his lightning legs had died down.
"Good Evening Captain!"
Dave wished.
"Ai Ai... Good Evening Dave... It looks like you were too delighted to hear me call"
Cypher, the tall man, chuckled as he walked towards Dave.
"Yes, Captain... It's been almost a year!. A Year!! Since I last smeared demon blood on my hands"
Dave replied, walking towards his Captain.
"Eh?... So you figured it out huh?"
Cypher asked as he took notice of the damp hair stuck to Dave's forehead.
"Jaren!!"
Cypher shouted to the squad of 9 behind him. They were, as Dave guessed, preparing for an attack on the SC-ranked dungeon.
"Yes captain"
A voice followed from the squad.
It was from a man. He was tall, almost equal to that of Dave. His hair was brown and spiky, that they stood out like porcupine needles.
"Give me some fire..."
Cypher asked Jaren, who was one out of his 10 strongest guild members.
"Sure thing"
Jaren smiled as he conjured a fireball on his pinky. The ball of fire, in a breath, grew to a size of a 5 meter tall boulder, and it was just the size which his pinky finger summoned. They could only imagine what his palm could conjure.
"Done... This might be enough for a dryer I guess?"
With a small heave of his pinky finger, he threw the huge fireball at a thrilling speed of 120 mph towards his Captain.
Cypher sidestepped to his left, avoiding the fireball, and grabbed his sword from the ground, and at the same second threw it towards his trusted, vice leader of the guild.
Dave didn't even flinch for a nanosecond when he saw the fireball, which his captain avoided, dash for his head. Instead, Dave hopped on his hind legs, dodging the fireball with a front flip, his hair missed the fire by two centimeters.
Just as he flipped towards his front, Dave, with his left hand, swiftly grabbed the SC-rated sword which was thrown towards him.
*Slice*
Without a glance behind, Dave sliced the huge, destructive fireball with the Legendary Sword, which he wielded in his left hand. The sword was heavy, but not to that extent that the world's third strongest man couldn't handle.
The fireball evaporated to smoke as it got absorbed into the sword. Dave, with his power, thrust the sword into the ground, quenching the absorbed heat into the earth as his foot settled on the ground.
"So that's how you help me dry my hair... Hm... As expected of my captain"
Dave nodded as he touched his hair and found it dry, free of any moisture.
The fireball... it was deadly... deadly enough to dry wet hair within seconds.
"Hahaha... And here I thought your joints had corroded... Well, tough luck I guess, Hahaha"
Cypher chuckled as he patted Dave on his back.
"Heh... Do you think I've been doing nothing this whole time?... How about you start doing office work then... Captain?"
Dave retorted as he shuffled his dry hair, trying to set it up like he usually combs.
"Hehehee... I'm sorry Dave... I am bad at that though!!"
Cypher chuckled.
"I don't give an 'F' about that though Captain. I need you to switch me to the Battle squad. I need to fight!!"
Dave let out his words.
"Okay... Okay!!. That's why I called you out tonight Dave. Don't you see a space free for you behind me *Chuckle*"
His Captain laughed as he walked towards his sword.
Dave's eyebrows perched up as he noticed 9 familiar faces behind Cypher who was now walking towards the sword before him.
"Ahh... Where's Fero?..."
Dave asked his Captain as he realized one out of the 10 'Blades' was missing.
Everyone went tight lipped as Dave asked his question. A curtain of dismay seemed to cover itself over them. Even his Captain seemed to go still when he grabbed his sword which was gouged deep into the ground.
The 10 Blades were a squad of the best combatants in the guild of 'The Spearhead'. They excelled at fighting and dungeon exploration. Dave believed every one of them worthy for their post as one of the 'Blades'.
But he still hadn't understood why he wasn't accepted to the '10 Blades' by his Captain. Even though he knew he was a lot more powerful than all ten of them.
"Fero..."
Cypher started with a tone that brimmed with grief.
"We lost him... in the dungeon..."
Dave's captain completed.
"What... What do you mean you lost him in the dungeon??. Isn't this the first time we are going to infiltrate the dungeon??"
Dave shouted.
He had every right to. Tomorrow was supposed to be the first official raid by a guild on the SC ranked dungeon.
Not only did his Captain call him out in the night for a Raid... now he was saying that he lost one of his comrades to the foxes.
"You can shout all you want Dave... You have every right to... maybe we should've gone according to plans..."
Haskell said.
He was a man in his mid twenties as well. He had short wavy black hair and his build was muscular... everyone was built muscular in the '10 Blades'. Even the ladies!!. Their bodies were too perfect to be true.
"All we wanted to do was to subdue the dungeon as soon as possible. You know Dave... as time passes, it becomes more and more difficult for people to live like they used to. I think even now, the citizens depending on us are struggling to sleep because of fear"
Delvi said. Her voice held up grief and guilt. Her words conveyed facts.
"Stop it"
Dave said.
"Now's not the time to regret what has happened. Let's do what we can... and I am sorry for shouting at you guys"
He finished his words, his eyes met that of his Captain's and they seemed to agree with his notions.
"So does that mean the SC ranked dungeon is tough to clear? Even for you guys?"
Dave asked, walking towards his other 9 comrades.
"I'm embarrassed to say this but it is... Hehe"
Jaren chuckled.
"But before that. Dave, Welcome to 'The 10 Blades' "
Cypher completed his words with a gentle welcoming pat on Dave's back.
"Hm. Thank you for the welcome, but there is no time to waste here. We need to find a way to defeat the foxes."
Dave announced.
"Now that I have understood the Demons, I am pretty sure that I can handle three of them at once, the rest is upon you guys"
Cypher said, sheathing his sword back to its scabbard on his back.
"Then, that leaves us with the 10 of us, If the foxes are as powerful as the reports say, then that'll take two of us for each demon fox"
Dave said.
"But I've got a doubt, Dave..."
Melrain raised her hand. She was short, her blue hair was curly. But the power she carried was befitting the rank of number 10 on the revoker's list.
"Go on, Shoot Mel"
Dave replied, pointing his finger at her.
"Yes... So the Dungeon has 9 foxes right?. Captain will deal with 3 of them, which leaves 6 of them for us... If two of us deal with each of them, then that'll only be 5 of them... What about the last one?"
She asked her question, which did carry sense.
"Hahaha..."
His laugh echoed through the starless night as Dave let his mouth free.
"You guys should stop being tense over this... Seriously!! There's nothing to worry about"
Dave snickered.
For a second everyone present beside him looked at Dave in shock. They were confused. They were going to raid an SC ranked dungeon, which was deemed to be the toughest dungeon to empty because the boss in it was a literal God in every term.
And Dave here was laughing at them.
"What do you mean Dave?"
Cypher was the one to break his laugh.
"Hehe... Your faces, they are ludicrous!!"
Dave paused his laugh and said.
He was once again greeted by the stares of his comrades.
"About the last fox. It will be the boss."
"Huh?? Dave!! What type of nonsense is that??. Leaving the boss for the last would only cost us lives!!. You know according to the reports..."
"Don't worry Creta... Even if we fall, the dungeon will be wiped off."
...........
...........
...........
...........
"Actually, We should just call him"
"Because I know a person who can easily overpower it... Hehe"
*Chuckle*
