The Blue Eyes

Chapter 272 - IT'S SHOWTIME

His hands gripped tightly onto the steering wheel when his car finally reached the Chilad area. It was almost noon, and what greeted them when they arrived at the previously humble and calm district was chaos.

There was a battle between the human army and the opponent. Their opponent was not humans, but it was werewolves. It was not even three months since the last werewolves war, but the history repeated itself once again.

Kevin stopped his silver car, and the black sedan owned by Casper behind his car also stopped speeding.

"So, it's a war against werewolves again?" Kevin questioned the other people in the car.

Grace was sitting next to him in the front passenger seat, while Blue was sitting alone in the back seat. Meanwhile, the three men were in Casper's black car that stopped behind the silver car.

"It's indeed a rebellion, but they used werewolves to attack us," Grace replied while clenching her fist. "He indeed wanted to avenge his ancestor."

Grace had told him about the reason behind the coup d'etat. The reason was none other than revenge for the coup d'etat that happened a hundred years ago. Grace said that she had always known about the history, but she didn't expect that the person would go this far to seek revenge.

A hundred years had passed, and that person finally got a chance to avenge his ancestor. Kevin thought it was quite ridiculous, but it happened for real.

"You don't need to worry, Kevin," the short-haired lady spoke again. "The army is surrounding Chilad now, and they are armed with weapons that can subdue werewolves."

There were no werewolves around their cars, but they could hear the sound of gunshot and explosion from a distance. Not only that, but some buildings around them were on fire as well.

Kevin felt a déjà vu. It was the third time he witnessed a war against werewolves, and it felt like a nightmare.

"We don't know how strong the werewolves are, so we'd better remain vigilant."

Right after Kevin finished speaking, they all could hear a series of screams coming from a direction, and they simultaneously turned their heads toward the scream. They widened their eyes when they saw a group of werewolf monsters running toward their cars.

Kevin was speechless, but then he noticed that someone was banging the window beside him. He turned his head and found Jack was the one who dared to bang his car window.

Without hesitation, Kevin rolled down the window to speak with the blonde man.

"Just go to the buried valley to save Kris, and we will fight with those monsters."

Kevin was surprised by Jack's statement. "What do you mean by you guys will fight those monsters, Jack?"

The monsters were getting closer to them, so they'd better make a quick decision.

"Just believe in me and leave immediately! Don't you remember what you've done to my body? I'm not weak, so just trust me!"

Kevin was still hesitant even after Jack continued to reassure him, but then he nodded his head as he said, "Promise me that you and the others will see me again, Jack. You guys will attend my wedding, right?"

Jack couldn't help but laugh upon hearing Kevin's question. "You are so confident about a wedding even in this situation. You must be crazy."

Jack was being sarcastic, but Kevin just smiled as he said, "Be safe, Jack. I'll never forgive myself if you and the others get killed." And he immediately rolled up the window and started the car engine again.

The werewolf monsters were so close to his car, but he immediately brought his car to leave those monsters. Those monsters tried to stop the car, but Jack's voice halted their movements.

"Don't you guys want to pay respect to your senior here?"

Those monsters turned to Jack and growled at Jack in confusion.

"What did you say to them, Jack? You're no longer a werewolf, so you're not their senior anymore!"

Another voice greeted his ears, and when Jack turned to the side, he found Casper got ready with his weapons. In his hands were two weapons specially made by Selena Beischel. Those were the weapons that were used to suppress the werewolves from the last year's war.

"Who says that I'm not a werewolf anymore?" Jack questioned the soldier with a smirk on his face as his hazel eyes gradually turned red.

Casper gasped when he noticed the change. "W-why did your eyes turn red? You... you aren't a werewolf anymore, right?"

Jack was still smirking but didn't say anything as his body gradually transformed into a werewolves monsters with black fur. Jack returned to his original form as a werewolf who stood on his two feet, and Casper felt like fainting when he witnessed the transformation.

And it seemed that the other werewolf monsters there were surprised as well when they felt a different aura of their opponent. They probably couldn't remember their identity and couldn't think with their brains right now, but they still had the instinct to protect themselves.

And their instinct told them that Jack was dangerous.

"I don't know what's happening there, but we'd better finish it soon so we can help Kevin to save Kris!"

Both Jack and Casper could hear someone screaming from distance, and when they turned their head to the back, they could see Luke poking his head from the car window and staring at them lazily.

They could see the IT expert was ready with a controller in his hands, and they knew that it was showtime.

Jack smirked before turning his head to their opponent again. "Let's finish it soon so we can get married before Kevin and Kris, Cas!" He screamed before dashing toward the group of werewolf monsters.

Casper widened his eyes in surprise, and his face reddened in embarrassment, but then he could hear the sound of drones above his head. He looked up and found that those drones were Luke's weapons.

"It's indeed a showtime."
