Chapter 220 - REST PEACEFULLY
The meeting with Grace Hasler was a disappointment. He even only had twenty minutes to be in the lady's office before the lady kicked him out of the room. She said that she still had important things to do, so she asked Kevin to leave the room.
Kevin didn't even get enough information from the medusa lady, but the lady mercilessly kicked him out of the room, forcing him to bring his legs leaving the room.
Kevin sighed loudly as he arrived in front of the Intelligence headquarters. He hadn't even called Kris to pick him up, and he was probably going to hail another taxi back home. He didn't want to disturb his lover.
But then his blue eyes caught a familiar red car at the parking lot in front of the headquarters. He didn't want to be fooled by the 'familiar car' incident again, and he brought his eyes to glance at the license number.
And after confirming that it was indeed the car he knew, a big smile spread on his face as he strode toward the car. Without further ado, he opened the front passenger seat door and positioned himself in the seat.
"I haven't even contacted you yet, but you already here for me, Kris?" The raven-haired male asked excitedly as he fastened his seat belt.
It was indeed Kris, and the man smiled a little before bringing his hand to ruffle the jet-black locks. "I was bored at home, and I decided to come here for you."
Kevin chuckled as he caught his lover's hand. "Did you feel uncomfortable in my parents' house, Kris?"
They forcefully moved to Kevin's biological parents' house after the incident in the apartment. They didn't even tell anyone about it because they didn't want anyone to become suspicious of their movement, and it was only both of them and Kris's men that knew about the new arrangement.
"Why do you think like that, Kev? It's your parents' house, and you grew up there until you are 10. I will always feel comfortable as long as you are with me."
Another sweet talk from his lover, and Kevin snorted. "If you are that comfortable, then let's go home now. I'm beyond tired, and all I want to do is sleep now." He let go of his lover's hand and rested his head on the back of the seat.
Kris, instead of complying with his lover's order by starting the car engine, chose to stare at his lover while frowning. "The meeting with the medusa lady didn't go well?" He asked the question as he could read Kevin's mood this afternoon.
Kevin opened his eyes and looked up at his lover. "Don't call her like that," he reprimanded his lover. "Mrs. Hasler is my mother's adoptive child, so she's like an older sister for me."
Kris seemed to be listening to the most ridiculous thing in the world as he suddenly laughed out loud. "So, Mrs. Hasler confirmed that she's indeed your mother's adoptive child? You want to take her as your older sister now?"
He knew that his lover was mocking him, and Kevin snorted at him. "I always want a sister, and if I can have one, then it will be great."
Kris was still laughing while shaking his head in disbelief. "That woman always treats you badly, but you are still willing to take her as your sister? You are really something, Kevin."
The young scientist pouted while turning his head to the window. His lover kept teasing him, and he couldn't take it anymore. "Let's just go home now," he instructed coldly.
Hearing the cold response from his lover, Kris finally relented. He patted the black head while smiling lovingly. "I'm sorry, my darling," he whispered softly. "I didn't mean to insult you, but I think you are really something for accepting someone rude like Grace Hasler to be your sister. Your heart is so kind. Are you a God, Kevin?"
Kris was teasing him, and Kevin finally chuckled as he turned to his handsome lover again. "Yes, I'm God, and I'm your God. Now follow this God's order and just start the car engine already. You don't want this God to punish you, do you?"
They were roleplaying again, and this time, it was quite silly.
Kris laughed for a moment before pressing his lips on his lover's forehead. "I will take you home, my Lord."
The scientist shook his head at his lover's ridiculous attitude. They had been dating for a while, but they would still bicker from time to time. They weren't the sweetest couple on Earth, but they understood each other so well that they never had a major misunderstanding between him.
Kevin could feel how the red car started speeding on the asphalt, and he rested his head on the back of the seat again. Everything that happened to him recently was beyond unexpected. Ever since AZURE was kidnapped, his heart was restless.
He got new information about the buried valley from his adoptive father, but aside from that information, he also got another surprise in the form of Grace Hasler. Who would have thought that the fierce lady was his mother's adoptive child? His mother even deliberately hid the fact from him, but why? Why did his mother go to that extent?
Grace Hasler didn't give him enough answers, and he ended up compiling the questions in his heart. His mother was no longer in the world, so he couldn't question his mother directly. He only had one choice right now.
"Let's go to my foster parents' house instead, Kris."
And the tanned man gave him a puzzled look. "But why, Kev? You said that you were tired, so you should rest at home."
Kevin could feel that Kris was glancing at him, but he didn't return the glance when he answered, "If I want to rest my body, then I need to rest my mind first, Kris.. Let's go to meet my foster parents first so I can rest peacefully."
