The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 80

80 Chicken cutlets hehe

“Uh.....I thought it was a weekend. I want to sleep some more,” he said in a croaky voice as he fell back to sleep.

Zi Feiji’s heart softened seeing his grandson’s current state but unfortunately, the bet had already been placed and he couldn’t lose face. He directly grabbed the corner of the quilt and began to drag him to the bathroom.

“Nope, grandpa needs you to wake up. I am going to take you to a wedding so we need to get you ready. In exchange, you don’t have to go in a girl’s uniform to school anymore,” said Zi Feiji as he continued to pull the quilt with Zi Han on it.

Zi Han would have taken him up on this offer but after that message, yesterday he refused. He had a score to settle with that person so no, he wasn’t going to accept. “No,” replied Zi Han half raising his head.

Zi Feiji paused and looked at Zi Han with a look of confusion. Had he just pushed his grandson into having gender reassignment surgery? He would accept him either way but he didn’t want to be the catalyst.

“Personal reasons,” explained Zi Han after seeing his grandfather’s face change colours like flickering Christmas lights.

“Okay, then what do you want?” asked Zi Feiji trying to find something to bargain with.

Zi Han struggled to get up as he said, “I will think of something,” before walking towards the bathroom, “Oh, and I won’t wear heels.”

“Well, of course not..... Phew, that was easy,” said Zi Feiji only for his daughter to get off the bed while saying,

.....

“I am coming with you. I will go take a shower.”

Zi Feiji who had gotten what he wanted smiled happily as he tapped on his light brain and sent a voice note.

“Old Wayne.... you are screwed. Haha, get ready to pay up,” he said before trotting out of Zi Han’s room.

An hour later Zi Han was suddenly regretting his decision. His grandfather took them to a beauty parlour and instructed an attendant to do a full makeover. He wanted Zi Han’s hidden pretty side to pop in order to win this bet. He was willing to go far and beyond to show Zi Han’s good side in order to win.

Unfortunately, Zi Han was uncooperative. If it weren’t for his mother reassuring him that she wouldn’t let him suffer any losses he would have walked out. By the time the stylist was done with him Zi Han felt like a plastic doll being put up for sale.

“What do you think this bet is all about?” asked Zi Han regret written all over his face.

Zi Xingxi walked over with two small chicken cutlets and pulled his dress at his chest. She shoved them into the bra and said, “Knowing him he probably bet that his grandson in a dress can get more marriage proposals than someone else’s granddaughter.”

Zi Han, “...”

He regretted it. He regretted it big time. At least he didn’t bargain for it with something lousy. He planned to ask for something extremely important in return for this.

Zi Han wasn’t the only one being pulled to do things he didn’t want to. Yi Chen had also thought he could sleep in then wake up late morning and finish off copying the script but he was woken up early by his mother asking him to accompany them to a wedding.

Yi Chen clearly understood what weddings in the federation meant. They were like hunting grounds for elders to find partners for their children. Why? It was because there weren’t plenty of people in the federation hence reducing the chances of finding the perfect suitor.

He knew his mother’s purpose in inviting him. It was to maybe meet someone but Yi Chen wasn’t interested. He could only compromise dropping them off and then coming back to pick them up. At least he had the privilege to refuse but his siblings didn’t have such luxury.

It’s not that she dragged her two other rascals to the wedding to find suitors. She dragged them along because her husband had something to do and leaving these two with the humanoid butler wasn’t a good idea. The last time she did they almost burnt her kitchen down.

Thus she dragged the two minions out of the hovercar while asking, “Are you really not going to come in? Even if it’s just for two minutes? I can’t handle these two by myself.”

Yi Chen wanted to say, “Lies!” but he held back. His mother’s entire world rotated around those two so how could she not be able to handle them. “Mum, I have things to do. I will pick you up in five hours,” he said hence Lin Ruoxi could only give up. She dragged her little accomplices to the large building.

Yi Chen heaved a sigh and he was about to tell the driver to drive back to the mansion when he saw a familiar face. There was no doubt in his mind that that person was Zi Han but.... his hair was longer and he seemed to be wearing makeup.

Though his make-up appeared natural Yi Chen still much prefered seeing his handsome face. Yi Chen suddenly felt an inexplicable sense of crisis thus he hurriedly left the hovercar only for the driver to call out, “Sir!” but he was already gone.

Throughout the ceremony, Yi Chen hid in the shadows but his gaze remained on Zi Han. He wasn’t sure what he was trying to achieve by being here but he couldn’t get himself to leave. His chest felt heavy like something was pressing down on it.

He knew very well what weddings were all about in the federation. Besides the couple getting married it was like hunting season with a mix of predators hunting down prey. He wasn’t sure what Zi Feiji was trying to achieve by bringing his grandson but he sure as hell wasn’t going to let anyone get close to Zi Han.

He strongly felt that they were best suited and no one else at this gathering was worthy of Zi Han thus he stuck around despite telling his mother he would leave.

Unfortunately for him, Mama bear was hovering around her cub. Unlike Zi Han who had a lower mental power, Zi Xingxi could feel a burning gaze on her son but she couldn’t pinpoint the person’s location. Zi Feiji also felt it but he was already counting his winnings at this point. He just assumed that Zi Han’s charm was already working.
