Spending My Retirement In A Game

Chapter 329 - Perfect Eyesight

After Eisen finished all of the metallic base parts for the golems and placed the different parts that were needed into the upper part of their torsos, meaning the soul generators and different mana batteries, he moved on to making the things for the the sensory organs.

First, the old man grabbed his Alchemy set and started to work on a potion that was supposed to increase sight in different ways, and then tampered with the material ratios to make it a slightly thick consistency, similar to very thick gravy, and then used hardening to try and make it the right thickness to be used in the Golems’ eyes.

And next, Eisen prepared a little bit of glass, although not to blow it, but simply to make the lenses. And in order to do that, Eisen once more mixed the materials for the same potion into the silica, soda ash and limestone, and added a good bit of mana-crystal powder to make it more resilient.

All that the old man then needed to do was pour the glass out into some small molds to get the shape right. Once glass hardened properly, Eisen then began to enchant the six lenses a little bit. They were relatively simple enchantments which were just once more supposed to enhance sight, however.

The other sensory organs, such as those for the ears and noses, were also enchanted to enhance their specific use, although there didn’t really seem to be a good way to properly enhance them otherwise, just as Jyuuk had said when Eisen spoke to him about it.

And then, Eisen grabbed the Crystal Eyes that he had leftover and swiftly grabbed a few chunks off of them, slowly shaping them into hollow eyes, before placing them to the side to where the other materials for the eyes were laying while Eisen quickly sent a message to Jyuuk to let him know that he was finished.

While the old man was then waiting for the beastperson to arrive and work on the eyes with Eisen, he then placed the crystal pieces for the ears into the ear-cannals that he had prepared in the Steel-Heads, and the pieces for the noses into a relatively deep part in the nasal cavity which he had hollowed out.

"The stuff for the eyes is finished?" Jyuuk asked as he took a look around at the bodies of the three golems, and Eisen nodded his head with a smirk. "Mhm, they’re finished. And after we finish the eyes, I’ll get to enchanting them as well." He explained, and then grinned before looking at the Golems. "The eyes and these guys as well, of course." Eisen chuckled before handing Jyuuk the different things for the first set of eyes, which he grabbed quite swiftly and then nearly immediately got to work. And it seemed like it didn’t take all that long to finish the eyes up either, because Jyuuk soon waited for Eisen to help him close them up!

"Alright, and now I just need to figure out the Iris?" Eisen asked, before Jyuuk nodded his head with a smile. "Mhm, I’d say so, yes. I suggest you make it some kind of paste as well, at the very least something that can spread or stretch so that the pupil can shrink and grow when needed." Jyuuk pointed out, so the old man nodded his head and sat down with some materials in front of him.

And what he figured the best choice was to use a gem, and preferably a gem that fit together with the element that fit together with the specific golem. And that, more exactly, would mean an earth gem for the Tank, a Fire and a Wind gem for the Damage Dealer, and a Light and a Darkness gem for the Supporter, because ’Support’ magic was a type of concept magic.

But what Eisen did next was not directly work on the irises of the golems’ eyes, but instead he stood up and left the room with what he would basically describe as a mountain of gems.

And then, Eisen made his way over to where he saw Bree before, simply on the main deck, speaking to Dien. He was hoping that she was still there, but he really couldn’t know, after all a few hours had passed since then.

But to his luck, it seemed like they were still there! And without hesitation, Eisen then stepped up to the young Fey-Kin with a smile on his face. "Hello there, you two!" Eisen exclaimed with a grin, and Bree looked up at the old man with her natural excitement written on her face.

"Hey Eisen!" She replied, and the old man just chuckled a bit. "So, I would like to ask you a favor. Could I try to enchant something using your support element?" He asked, and Bree nodded immediately.

"Of course! I didn’t know your skill was at Rank 4 already!" Bree replied, and Eisen nodded his head with a smile. "Just yesterday, yeah. It’s just going to take a few moments." He explained and pushed his hand into his pocket and grabbed a few enchanting marbles, before placing them on Bree’s open hand, before Eisen encapsuled her hand with his own two hands.

"And just to make sure, the skill is called directly ’Support Magic’, right?" Eisen asked, hoping that he wouldn’t accidentally waste these enchanting marbles by using them with the wrong ability, and Bree nodded her head happily.

And so, Eisen slowly closed his eyes and poured his mana into the marbles, before letting the marbles slowly pull in some of Bree’s mana, and then Eisen just concentrated on that one ability. Just a few moments later, the enchanting marbles were now enchanted with Bree’s element, which Eisen was more than just glad to see when he inspected them.

"It works!" He exclaimed excitedly, and then immediately went on to finish the ability-enchanting process by moving the ’Support’ element onto some pre-combined Light and Darkness Gems, and then onto each one light and darkness gem, which Eisen would use for the irises.

"Thank you." Eisen told Bree with a smile, before placing his hand onto the top of Bree’s head, before looking at Dien as well. "Do either of you know people on this ship with the pure earth, wind and fire elements?" He asked, and Dien immediately nodded.

"Yeah, there’s a bunch of them, actually." He pointed out, and Eisen looked at him surprised. "Really? I thought the majority of people get special elements?" The old man asked in return, but Dien just shook his head immediately.

"The opposite, rather. About two thirds of people get one of the basic elements as their first, and only a third of people get a special element right off the bet, although even people with the basic elements get a special element later in life when their element upgrades itself, if they should pursue that. But for example, Children can also get an element, but it’s impossible for anyone under the age of 15 to get a special element. That’s one of the ’Adult’ privileges, I guess." Dien pointed out, so Eisen slowly nodded his head with a grin.

"Ah, got it... Then I’ll be off to the orphanage’s area, I guess." Eisen chuckled and waved at the two of them before stepping down the stairs into the belly of the ship and headed directly to the area that he was speaking about, and soon entered the room where all of the children were currently playing, although some of the older children were sitting around in the corner of the ship.

Some of them seemed to have just started puberty, so they were complaining about stuff whenever Eisen saw them, but he figured they were the safest bet of people to ask for the three elements he needed.

And with a smile on his face, Eisen then decided to squat down in front of the group of young teenagers, although most of the younger children were already making movement rather tough because they started climbing on top of the old man.

"Hello all of you, how are you?" Eisen asked, and a young, red-haired girl replied with a bright smile. "I’m great! These guys aren’t though, they’re so mopy!" She exclaimed, and Eisen chuckled in response.

"Yeah, I get it. Don’t worry all of you, we’re going to be a the islands in about two days, then you won’t be stuck on this ship anymore." He explained to them, and the first one to respond now was a young, rather ’chunky’ young beastperson boy, and judging from his characteristics, he seemed to be a Grizzly-type.

"As long as there’s going to be food there, I don’t care." The boy replied, and Eisen tilted his head to the side with a smile, "Isn’t there enough food on this ship for you?" He inquired, and another child seemed to want to answer for the boy after coming to sprint over from the other side of the room rather quickly and quietly.

"Nah, nothing’s enough for that guy. He never stops eating, ya know?" That other child said, and Eisen simply laughed once more. These three seemed to be the oldest children of the current group as well, and just judging from their characters, Eisen figured they were just the people he was looking for. Quite quickly, he activated his Truth-Seeing Eyes and took a look at the place where their mana originated in their bodies, noticing small colored dots within all of them.

"You three, want to do me a favor?" Eisen asked, and the three kids looked at each other and the old man surprised, but ended up happily doing so.

And then, Eisen left the room again with a bunch of enchanted crystals and gems, also happy to know that there were a few promising young children around.

All of the children were pretty energetic, and those that were just very angry or pessimistic about everything were in the vast minority, but even they would end up finding their true purpose on the islands. After all, it would be impossible not to find anything that they liked to do in any one of the many, many towns that they were creating.

He really wanted to give the children from that orphanage a place to live, and in general just wanted to create a place that everyone could feel safe at, and where everyone could feel like they belonged.

With those kind of idiologic thoughts within his mind, Eisen stepped back up the stairs all the way to the meeting room, sitting down at the table where Jyuuk was already waiting for him, seemingly having finished the rest of the eyes to the point that he himself could reach without transmutation.

"Oh, done already?" Eisen asked as he grabbed a few of the gems that he was going to use for the Irises, and Jyuuk nodded his head, curiously watching what Eisen was going for, "Mhm, it didn’t really take that long. You just need to help me fix everything in place properly." The beastperson replied, before Eisen nodded his head and then swiftly did as asked, covering the four eyes that still needed to be finished in his mana before using transmutation in a few small places.

"Alright, perfect. Thanks, Jyuuk." Eisen told him with a smile, before first transmuting the enchanted light and darkness gems that he made with Bree’s help, encapsuling the light gem within the darkness gem, kind of fusing it together in some small parts, before he simply softened the whole thing down and used the small blade enchanted with transmutation to cut out two small circular pieces as the irises, slowly and carefully placing them onto the spot in the eye where they were meant to go and fixated them there with some light transmutation.

"Huh, Black and White Central Heterochromic Eyes... Nice." Jyuuk muttered, and Eisen chuckled in response as he closed the first eye up with a thin protective layer of mana-crystal-glass and then did the same thing with the second eye, before looking up at Jyuuk again.

"Is it good like this?" Eisen asked as he showed the eyes to the Beastperson, who just ended up slowly nodding. "Yeah, basically perfect. So how will you enchant these now?" Jyuuk asked, before Eisen just slightly shrugged while preparing the irises, made by encapsuling the green wind gem in the red fire gem, for the Damage-Dealer’s eyes.

"Just relatively simply, really. Just something to make them hold in place properly, because it wouldn’t be that great if they popped-out mid-combat. In the end, I can always take them out again and enchant them if I get some good idea."
