RWBY: Dragon's Heart

Chapter 27: Happy Birthday

Chapter 27: Happy Birthday

"Hooo... Now to explain.." Yin muttered as she walked back to the waiting Hajime, Yue, Shia and Tio.

"Hey, we finished-..What's with the face?" Hajime asked, noticing the particularly difficult expression on her face.

"It's time. I got a message from Hecate. And before I tell you more, I'll just warn you now. She said if you kept talking shit, she'll use testicular torsion spell on you." Yin warned, seeing Hajime's complexion pale significantly at the ominous threat.

"...Alright, message received. Still though.. It's frustrating. How long will you be gone?" He asked, shaking the image from his head.

"Less than a year here. Where I'm going, time will move faster. Now, Shia.." Yin turned to the Bunny girl who was gripping her skirt tightly.

"I want to go with-" "You're coming with me." Yin stated, cutting her off mid-declaration. "Eh..?" Shia tilted her head.

"What? You're already mine. Of course you're coming along. I feel you and Nora will get along." Yin replied with a tone nearing dread at the end.

"Can I-" "Nuh uh." Yin cut Tio off next, who began to squirm in pleasure with a red face.

"Tch.. we have to keep her?" Hajime clicked his tongue in annoyance.

"OH YESH..." Tio cried out, breathing heavily.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

"Yeah I'm not bringing that with me.. What will my Mom say? Besides that, it's already enough to take Shia. I don't wanna share my glorious XP with any more. Plus.. you actually might need her." Yin nearly spat in contempt, as Shia snickered to herself.

"Besides that.. Hm.... Go to a nearby town, one with an aquarium. Should have a human faced fish in it. After setting him free, go to the sewers and rescue a kid. After you rescue her and deal with some shit, go back to Orcus and rescue Kaori and Shizuku. Tell Shizuku... that I'll be fine. That I'll be back, alright? I owe some sort of explanation.. even if it mainly includes throwing Hecate under the bus.." Yin muttered the last part to herself.

"Yin.. We'll miss you." Yue smiled as Hajime placed his hand on her head.

"We won't be long. This isn't goodbye, it's 'see you later'. That said.. coming here and traveling with you guys.. I feel a part of myself had been asleep until now. Thank you, for helping wake it up." Yin smiled, before a light enveloped her and Shia.

And then they were gone.

-Elsewhere-

"Whew.. All finished up here." A melodious voice, belonging to Hecate, the Kitsune Goddess sounded out in a strange, all white place.

"Will.... you finally let me go..?" A man asked, grunting in pain. His arm and leg cleanly severed, forcing him to crawl on the floor. He was the self proclaimed God, Ehit.

"Should I? As soon as her mana was released, you plotted to send your human puppets after my daughter, you know? Just like you did with the Dragonmen race. I had to force you to follow canon, to an extent. To be honest, even I was a little confused when they spent all those months training. Then there're the extra months in the dungeon. I guess I dote on her a little much huh?" Hecate asked herself with a rather affectionate smile.

"No! It was just a misunder-"

SPLAT!

Hecate quickly walked away from the now headless corpse of Ehit, which had begun to burn to cinders, already returning her sword to her own inventory. "Wouldn't have had this issue if I sent her to Fairy Tail or DXD.. Oh! Speaking of doting.. Their birthday is coming up soon! Ah~ What to gift her.."

The Goddess left the corpse of Ehit, still thinking aloud as the building began to crumble and collapse in on itself. She snapped her fingers as she walked out into the Human Capital, forcing her presence to be ignored by anyone who saw her.

"I'll have to grab some other Ehit from another timeline.. Then grab Yin and Yang's presents." Hecate nodded to herself as she disappeared into the crowd.

-Remnant, Xion Inn-

Yin and Shia both appeared on the soft bed within the room Yin had gotten. Immediately, the curious Bunny Girl had taken to looking around the room, opening the window and gasping at the image of Remnant's shattered moon.

"It's... beautiful.." Shia whispered, hearing an amused snort from Yin, who sat upright on her bed and watched her.

"This, is Remnant. My world. I'll tell you about it after telling you about me." Yin said, earning Shia's full attention.

The Bunny Demihuman sat next to Yin on the bed, giving her undivided attention.

"Well, let's rip off this bandaid first.. Shia, I'm Thirteen. Turning Fourteen tomorrow." Yin informed, watching as the realization of her words dawned on her.

"Thir... But you look...." Shia flustered, pointing at Yin's chest specifically.

"I'm a Dragon. I develop early." Yin said, followed by a shrug.

"Wow... What will you look like when you grow up..!?" Shia asked loudly before Yin covered her mouth with her brows twitching.

"Probably like my Mom. But more tanned. I'm almost a little clone of her, looks-wise. Or like a more mature Yang..? We look a lot alike, except for the blonde hair and lilac eyes. Though we are twins, after all." Shia's mind quickly wandered as she imagined a blonde Yin before shaking her head.

"Mmshter..!?" Shia exclaimed, muffled through Yin's palm.

"Yes.. You'll meet them later. For now, we should talk about getting you into my clan. Lucky for you, Demihumans kinda exist here. We just call them Faunus. I've heard a rare few have more than one animal trait, but I've never seen it myself. I'll tell you about Faunus-kind later." Yin then took a deep breath before releasing her hold on Shia's mouth. "Um.. you don't own Faunus slaves here, do you?" Shia asked, biting her lip.

"Not that I know of.. I've looked through the net using my scroll and I've never seen slavery openly talked about. Nor have I seen any Faunus slaves myself." Yin replied, then turning her thoughts toward the SDC (Schnee Dust Company).

"That's something I'll have to look into as we explore Remnant. I'll educate you as best I can, so when I introduce you to my friends tomorrow, you won't seem like a complete weirdo." Yin smirked at the determined expression on Shia's face.

"Understood! Please educate me!"

-Nine hours later-

"Ren! It's a travesty! A TRAVESTY, I SAY!!" Nora hit the wooden table she sat at with her

obvious crush.

"No pancakes here..?" Ren asked, resisting the urge to sigh.

"YES!! Why!? Is it a flour shortage!? Is there no sugar!? WHY GOD!?" Nora ran her hands down

her face in lament.

"Nora we'll get pancakes as soon as we return to camp." Yin called out as she descended the staircase of the quiet Inn, Shia in tow.

"Badass Leader! Does that mean we're going back today? And who is..." Nora looked over to

Shia, who had her hammer strapped to her back.

"This is Shia. She wandered into Xion for-" "My friendo.." Nora felt tears well up in her eyes

as she stood up and offered her hand.

"Eh? Huh!? Just like that?" Shia blinked, taking Nora's hand.

"Anyone who mains a warhammer.. But question! Just in case... What's your feelings on pancakes? Do you prefer pancakes or waffles?" Nora asked, her nostrils flared in anticipation.

"Er...?" Shia looked at Yin, who was giving her a knowing side glance.

Shia exhaled and cleared her throat.

"Pancakes for-EVER!" Shia declared loudly, raising her fist, as if she had practiced.

"Pffft-"Yin chortled quietly as Ren looked away, either in horror or amusement.

"Welcome to the clan!" Nora shouted before hugging the Bunny Girl.

"Well. If Yin trusts you.. You're probably a good addition." Ren added with a small smile.

"Glad you took a liking to each other. Now unless you want to eat here, let's go. I'd prefer to eat back at camp." Yin stated, which Ren immediately nodded to.

"Nora gets fiesty when she's hungry. That, combined with being a picky eater... We should hurry." Ren shivered at the last part.

Shia just tilted her head before Nora hooked arms with her and charged out of the Inn, yelling: "Yin-cakes! Let's fuggin GOOOOO!!!"

Ren's expression dropped as he and Yin shared a look.

"Let's get back soon.. Before the high of meeting another hammer-wielder dissapears and

she starts to go full goblin mode." Yin suggested as they both picked up the pace and returned

to their vehicle they had taken from the Beormir.

-An hour and a half later-

The car ride was mostly peaceful, with Ren and Nora asking Shia where she had come from. Shia replied with a fabricated story her and Yin made the night prior. As a wandering Faunus orphan from Menagerie, she honed her skills by fighting Grimm in the wilds with only the bare essentials. It'd explain her overall cluelessness about Mistralian culture, lack of a scroll and her skills. Another thing to look into doing, however, was giving Shia aura. Given she has a soul, there was no reason it shouldn't work. Yin made a mental note to try and awaken her aura later, after she's introduced to the clan.

After a minor annoyance with some young Nevermore chasing them, they arrived at camp. Not a moment too soon too, as Nora's hunger and sugar-lust was beginning to take hold. The ginger girl immediately sprinted out of the truck and into the camp while Ren sighed and hopped out after Shia and Yin.

"By the way... Uh.. your Mom might wanna know about your growth spurt. Nora and I are already used to it but.. Well, you know.." Ren rubbed the back of his head awkwardly. "Oh, right. Thanks for looking out, Ren." Yin smiled, seeing Ren blush and walk after Nora.

"Well, come on Shia. I'll introduce you to my Mom." Yin nudged Shia while walking in. Shia marveled at the simple-looking lifestyle of the Branwen clan. She knew Yin, Raven and a few others were organizing them into something more akin to a warrior clan or mercenaries recently, but the progress certainly looked impressive. With members training their skills, body, aura and some technology that looked similar to what Yin and Hajime made. The only thing out of place was the scraggly blond man sleeping at his post in the morning.

It was even weirder to see Yin grab a bucket of warm water and gently place his hand in it. She

didn't know whether to laugh or gag when the man pissed himself with a smile on his face. Yin continued walking after nodding proudly to herself, entering a large tent that looked almost too intimidating to enter. Shia took a deep breath, lightly smacked both of her cheeks and

walked in with confidence.

"My Gods you got bigger. If you didn't have that skin I'd ask who cloned you.." Shia heard a

voice that sounded similar to Yin's speak before looking at Yin and who was very obviously

her Mother.

Only, her Mother was poking her daughter's chest with the hilt of her blade. Though Raven

was still taller and more developed than Yin, she still looked rather young and had a well defined athletic body. Something Yin was almost now perfectly mirroring.

"Well, you know how I am.." Yin deflected, pushing Omen away and clearing her throat before

looking at Shia.

"Oh? Is this your girlfriend? I had a few when I was a teenager, myself. Nice pick." Raven stated, smirking at the blush on Shia's face.

"Ehehe... You can say that~" Shia preened as Raven suddenly felt her arm.

"Oh, she's pretty strong too. Could give Gray a run for her money, I reckon. Not bad. Just don't

keep the camp up at night with her moans." Raven sent a teasing smirk Yin's way, who simply

rolled her eyes.

"Still thirteen." Yin replied flatly.

"Fourteen by tonight. How'd you wanna celebrate? Last year was good. Hoising up Shay like a

pinata should be a tradition." Raven pat the top of her daughter's head, messing with her

ahoge (cowlick).

"Well that does sound fun.. But when it hits midnight, can you make a rift to Yang? I have something to give her." Yin asked before moving her head away defiantly.

"Hm.. I was going to give her something anyway, since she'll be asleep by then. Okay. But no

more than five minutes. Summer has a weird instinct about these things and might spontaneously come home to check." Raven shrugged.

"Now.. Tell me about yourself, soon-to-be Daughter in Law." Raven asked, a slightly

mischeivous glint in her eyes.

"YESH!" Shia stood at full attention and replied in excitement.

Though Yin looked at her in pity. Her Mom had a sadistic side she liked to subtly use when

messing with new recruits.

-Patch-

When midnight finally struck, a small red rift opened in the corner of Yang's room. Yin peeked

her head in, looking at the dark room. The only light present being from the rift and the slivers of moonlight comibg through the window. Yin quietly walked in, seeing familiar golden hair draped over a pillow. Her long, steady deep breaths indicating she was asleep. Yin

swallowed a lump in her throat and approached her sleeping sister.

"Happy Birthday, Yang.."

[Git cliffhanger'd, baby! >:D]
