Chapter 53: Another Debate
Chapter 53: Another Debate
At the same time, in the headmaster's room.
Headmaster Dumbledore sent out the last person who left, Snape. When the footsteps disappeared downstairs, Dumbledore finally looked away.
"Dumbledore!"
Suddenly, a call sounded from the office. Next, the portraits of the previous headmasters hanging on the walls of the headmaster's room all came 'alive'.
"Dumbledore! Look over here!" The portrait of the previous principal, Armando Dippet, seemed to be a little exasperated and kept shouting at Dumbledore.
"Okay, okay." Dumbledore was a little perfunctory. He turned to look at the portrait of Armando Dippet and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Don't pretend to be confused!" Headmaster Armando Dippet said snappily, "You should know what I am thinking!"
"No, I don't know." Dumbledore immediately denied it.
"Hahaha..." The portraits of the previous generations of headmasters began to laugh.
"Shut up! You bunch of bastards!" Armando Dipet was even more exasperated. As he roared, he jumped out of the portrait frame and instantly appeared in the portrait of a principal next to him.
"Do you want to fight? Come on!" An old man with a white beard in the portrait shouted at Armando Dippet, who had jumped over and rolled up his sleeves.
"Oh my god..." When Dumbledore saw this, he raised his hand to cover his forehead and said helplessly, "Please spare me. I think I need to be quiet now."
As the current principal, Dumbledore obviously had the authority to order, so as soon as he finished speaking, the two 'previous principals' who were about to fight immediately stopped.
After glaring at each other, Armando Dippet jumped back into his picture frame.
Seeing this, Dumbledore asked the portrait of Armando Dippet, "Sorry, Armando. Although I know who you want to talk about, I really don't know what you want to say."
"Of course." Amando Dippet leaned forward as if he was going to come out of the portrait. He looked down at Dumbledore and said, "Snape is right. Coven Quinn is indeed a potential threat! You must get him out of here as soon as possible! Hogwarts will not allow a second Riddle to appear!"
"No." Dumbledore refused firmly.
"Why!" Armando Dippet* shouted. "My mistake! Your deliberate indulgence! The consequence for that is a devil who has threatened the magic world for many years! Do you want to repeat the same mistakes?"
"No, I don't think so." Dumbledore shook his head slightly and pondered for a moment. Then he continued, "Armando, they are different."
[*TL Note: Professor Armando Dippet was a wizard and Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (1940-early 1970) and the predecessor of Albus Dumbledore. During his tenure, the Chamber of Secrets was first opened by Tom Riddle since its creation by Salazar Slytherin in around A.D. 993. Unknowingly, Dippet was indirectly responsible for the end of the attacks by telling Riddle that the school would have to be closed if said attacks continued. Dippet was also responsible for the expulsion of Rubeus Hagrid after Riddle framed him with the attacks.]
"How is it different?" Armando Dippet said disdainfully, "Don't tell me you listened to the three professors? Don't you know that the three of them are talking about things that are floating on the surface? The child and Riddle are essentially the same!"
"Different." Dumbledore shook his head again and looked straight at the portrait of the principal, "Their choices are different."
"Choice?" Armando Dippet was puzzled. "What choice?"
"House's choice." Dumbledore replied, "Riddle chose Slytherin who could make it easier for him to walk towards success, but Coven Quinn is different."
"Just because he chose Gryffindor?" Avatar Diott shook his head. "Even if he chose Gryffindor, Sorting Hat said that he will have great achievements in the future! So we should take precautions! Even if there is a little possibility, we can't let Coven Quinn's future achievements be in black magic!"
"No!" Dumbledore denied again. "Riddle has ambition, but Coven Quinn does not. Because if he has any ambition, Sorting Hat will send him to Slytherin."
"Gryffindor has a lot of bad guys too!" Headmaster Armando Dippet stubbornly shouted, "Don't forget! Gryffindor also has a lot of Death Eater!"
"My Merlin..." Dumbledore once again held his forehead, "You are so stubborn that it gives me a headache."
"Serves you right!" Headmaster Armando Dippet shouted, "Who told you not to listen to my advice?"
"Forget it." Dumbledore intended to end the topic. "I will find a chance to test the child again. Believe me, and I can handle this matter."
"Then what's the trouble? Do you want me to say or just fire him directly?" Armando Dippet refused to give up.
"Fire, on the contrary, there is a higher chance that the child will go to the abyss. Well, I will be responsible for my decision. Good night, gentlemen and ladies." Dumbledore said the last sentence and then waved his hand.
The authority of the headmaster was activated, restoring all the portraits to silence.
Next, Dumbledore sat in the chair in a daze for a long time. His eyes were dull, and no one knew what he was thinking.
After a long time, Dumbledore came back to his senses. He lowered his head and spread out two pieces of paper. He picked up the feather pen and began to write after pondering for a while.
Soon, the letter was written. Dumbledore summoned an owl and handed the envelope to the other party.
Standing in the office window and watching the owl fly away, Dumbledore turned to look in the direction of Gryffindor Tower. He was silent for a moment, then turned off the light and went upstairs to rest...
...
The following two days were weekends, so days off.
Coven just happened to need to be out of everyone's sight, so he basically spent the past two days in the library other than eating time.
In these two days, Coven finally finished reading the book he had borrowed from the library. The content was completely grasped by him. The entire book had analyzed three spells in detail. One was an iron armor spell, one was a clear water spring spell, and the other was a recovery spell.
There was no need to say more about the iron armor spell. Coven had already personally verified it, and the remaining two clear water spring water and recovery spells were also not simple in the description of this book.
There were two ways to use the recovery spell. Ordinary methods could be used to repair things that had just been damaged, and the deeper levels of the law used were much more exaggerated, which was to recover the concept of 'time'.
The high-level usage mentioned in the book was not to recover from the completeness of the object but to recover from the time period where the object was located.
When Coven first saw this, he was shocked. He was only familiar with and understood the theory and had not personally started the magic experiment.
This also made Coven a little distressed. He was distressed that it would be good if he did not attract the attention of Headmaster Dumbledore. If that was the case, he could ask Professor Flitwick for advice or ask the other party to arrange a place for him to experiment and practice the 'Recovery Curse'.
Unfortunately, now that he attracted the attention of Dumbledore, Coven could only be invisible for a while and could not ask the professors for questions to show his sense of existence...
