Rise Online: Return of the Legendary Player

Chapter 814: The Search for Týr (Part 3)

"The gods didn't take Týr's resignation well," continued Alina, her eyes fixed on the book. "His decision to abandon the role of God of War was like a fissure in the divine structure. Odin, the Father of All, expressed his disapproval, fearing that Týr's absence would bring imbalance to the Nine Realms."

Jayaa, Kaizen and Vorian exchanged glances, trying to imagine the impact of Týr leaving his post as God of War. Would it bring peace or uncontrolled wars?

"But Týr, unperturbed, stood by his decision," continued Alina. "He saw his role as a guide and protector of the races as more vital than just being a god of war. His wounds to the soul, from being an inciter of the great war between the races, were deep. He witnessed wars that led to the destruction of kingdoms and the death of countless innocent souls.

His compassionate heart guided him on a journey of redemption, far from the divine halls."

Alina turned another page of the book, revealing illustrations depicting Týr in moments of solitary reflection, gazing out over the horizons of the known kingdoms. Listeners could feel the anguish and loneliness that enveloped the renouncing god.

"During his exile, Týr plunged into the bowels of the Yggdrasill in search of understanding and inner peace," continued Alina, her words resonating with a touch of sadness. "He traveled through the branches of the tree that connected the realms, seeking knowledge and redemption.

However, that world he had encountered before, and which had been his resting place for so long, was only a world more dormant than the others, not completely empty. After all, he was still within the nine worlds and that world he had found was Niflheim."

Kaizen's face lit up with an expression of recognition when Niflheim was mentioned. He raised his head, staring at Alina with a mixture of surprise and fascination.

Kaizen slowly broke the silence. "I've been to Niflheim," he said, his voice laden with dark memories. "It's a place of ice and shadows on the horizon. I never imagined that Týr could have found refuge there."

Kaizen's eyes fixed on the illustration of Týr. Alina noticed Kaizen's reaction and smiled subtly.

"Niflheim is an enigmatic realm, where the biting cold of reality mixes with the shadows of the unknown. Let's continue..."

Týr, in search of his own truth, plunged into the depths of the realms and never appeared in public again. As far as anyone knows, he became a wanderer in the confines of Niflheim, where darkness and cold were his eternal companions.

The biting winds howled between the ice peaks, and sinister shadows danced across the desolate landscapes as the former god explored the secret corners of that enigmatic realm.

"That means..." Jayaa said, but looked at Kaizen before she finished speaking.

"It means we're in luck," Kaizen added with a smile at the corner of his mouth.

Vorian narrowed his eyes, a little confused and a little interested too. He wanted to understand what exactly they meant by that, but at the same time he didn't want to.

So Vorian smiled too and closed the book in his hands. "All right, it looks like you've got what you were looking for. Fortunately, the likes of Týr are apparently a mystery, so it's impossible for you to summon him. You'll need to go and look for him and apparently you already know how to do that."

Kaizen stood in front of Vorian and, looking him in the eye, extended his right hand after a few seconds in greeting.

Vorian looked at Kaizen's large hand, which seemed small considering that Vorian was almost three meters tall, and responded by returning the handshake.

However, considering that everything in this game seemed to be interconnected and no mission seemed to be without its dangers, risks and setbacks, it was clear that this mission would be no different.

While the handshake between Vorian and Kaizen was taking place, clapping began to echo from not far away, and a few moments later the person who had been clapping revealed herself, emerging not from the door of the section, but from behind a shelf in that section.

This person was a woman a little shorter than Vorian, with a miter protecting her head and preventing her hair from falling down her face. She looked like a religious figure, with a golden staff floating beside her. After she stopped clapping, she took the staff in her right hand and said:

"Vorian, Vorian... What exactly do you think you've just done?"

Vorian, even in the face of the woman's sudden appearance and accusatory tone, remained calm, with a serenity that contrasted with the palpable tension around him. He raised his eyebrows slightly, maintaining eye contact with the woman, while his agile mind worked to formulate a response that was both respectful and assertive.

"Madame Maria, my purpose here is to guide you along the paths of knowledge, not to judge the choices of those who seek understanding," he said, his voice laden with tranquility. "Kaizen, Jayaa and Alina are seekers of truth, just like everyone else who steps foot in this sacred precinct."

The woman pressed her lips together in a thin line, her expression a mixture of distrust and disapproval. The golden staff glowed at her side, radiating an aura of authority that seemed to permeate the very air. She took a few steps forward, her figure wrapped in a light velvet cloak, adorned with symbols that faintly glimmered with golden light.

"Do you defend those who come from outside Olaynore?" she asked, her voice echoing off the walls of the library like a cutting whisper. "I'm absolutely appalled by this behavior. Of all the Elders, I thought you were the one who valued the sacred order the most. Do you know the dangers you bring by allowing such beings to enter our domain and use our knowledge with such freedom?"

Vorian stood firm, his gaze conveying unwavering confidence. He knew that his words would be his best defense against the accusations.
