Rise Of The Hoarder

Chapter 121 Clash With Demons (Pt 2)

There was no use considering something I didn’t ask at the time. I just had to find a way to obtain the information I needed some other way.

Plus, since Daniel was such a good fellow, he was sure to tell me if I asked anyway. I just had to do it when Melissa wasn’t clinging around him… which was almost never!

After some minutes of watching, I grew bored quickly. The fight against 20 Hobs was dragging on for too long, and they hadn’t even killed half of them yet. It would take the group close to twenty more minutes to finish everything.

‘They are conserving energy and Skills since they still have a long way to go, eh?’ I reasoned, rising from where I sat and observed.

I could have easily one-shotted every single Demon around in a few seconds, but had to put up with this instead. I didn’t mind, though.

After all, these Hobs were a good distraction for my ‘comrades’. Thanks to the noble Demons’ sacrifice, I could make way to my actual goal for today… The Hobgoblins’ Fort.

“If you’ll excuse me, then. I’ll be taking my leave.” I grinned slightly, vanishing from the area.

Since my Agility was extremely high, it didn’t take me very long to reach my destination, feeling the winds on my face and my heart race in excitement, I couldn’t hide the grin that kept growing larger on my face..

In what appeared to be a single moment, instead of a few minutes, I got to the goal.

Looking at the entrance to the Hobgoblins’ vast compound, I found it absolutely stunning.

It was large beyond description. The towering heights of the fence made me appear even shorter than I already was.

‘This is truly amazing. No one will be able to see beyond the walls of this place.’ I thought to myself with a grin.

Moving closer to the gate, I took in the slight feeling of solitude. Everyone was busy fighting the guards of this place, but I was going to venture in to get my fill of bloodshed, as well as obtain samples for the experiment I wanted to carry out.

“This should be fun…” I whispered.

Activating <Aura>, I strengthened my physique, while touching the wooden surface of the fence.

The Hobgoblins used the trees around to create perfect wooden fences, an intelligent move on their part. Of course, it was most likely not due to them, but to whoever was controlling the mobs.

‘Goblins aren’t very bright, so whoever is calling the shots must be the true mastermind behind their coordinated activities. Interesting…’ I mused.

The creation of Hobgoblin scouts, the ambush they made for us, the structures erected. We were dealing with something intelligent.

“It doesn’t matter, though. I’m here now!” My voice unconsciously leaked out.

Summoning two daggers from my [Subspace], I gripped them tightly with both hands. In an instant, the red aura covering my body flowed to it, coating the weapon’s surface as well.

‘Let’s get started!’

Barging in was one way of handling the whole thing. I could tear down the gate and fight the vast number of monsters waiting for me within. However, that was not the smartest thing to do.

‘If I can avoid a direct confrontation until I’ve confirmed their numbers and made a surefire strategy against them, that would be great.’

Using this rationale, I stabbed the wooden fence with my daggers, deciding to climb the tall structure and observe the Demon activities within the compound. If I did this and saw that I could commence a fight, I would do just that.

‘Plus, they will have nowhere to run away to, since the gate is closed. It’s a good thing I decided against blowing it down!’

I began ascending, climbing the fence by continuously stabbing the walls with my short blades and using them to pull me up.

I’m some seconds, I was already at the top. Not daring to show my face to the thousands of Demons that were most likely waiting beyond the divide, I decided to sneak a peek at the Demons within.

‘Let’s see if I can-‘

My thoughts came to an abrupt halt immediately I laid eyes on the Hobgoblin army… no, even at the compound itself!

A very large expanse of land was beyond the wooden fence. It was so vast that I couldn’t see the end of it. A compound made exclusively for Demons… and then, upon looking at the denizens of the place, I was moved into more shock.

Like sands on a beach, or as plants on a field, so were the numbers of the green Hobgoblins within the compound. I could hardly see the ground within the Compound, as they filled the entire area.

“They’re at least seven, no, eight thousand!” I nearly yelped.

And that was only counting their numbers for now. Since they would do nothing but increase, it was going to be far worse soon enough. I knew Goblins reproduced at a fast rate, even in mythologies and fiction, but to think it was true.

“This is… even more than I bargained for…” My voice trailed as I trembled.

It wasn’t due to fear, though. I had gone past the point of being afraid of Demons. There was only one reason for the unconscious throbbing of my body.

Excitement!

“All of this Exp… you’re telling me… they’re all mine?!”

I was literally salivating as I watched the unsuspecting monsters blankly sit on the floor.

Soon enough, they would die… and I was going to take their EXP and anything else precious in this place!

‘After this whole Saga… I wonder how many Levels I’ll be able to obtain?!’

I raised my body to the height of the fence, still making sure I was not in the Hobgoblins’ line of sight. It was strange how they made no reaction at all to even the slightest blow of winds.

In fact, they didn’t notice anything at all, as though they were in a daze. I was happy about this development, though, as it gave me enough time to entirely climb and stand on the fence without any attention brought to me.

“<Recall>” I muttered.

One of the daggers on my hand disappeared, leaving the second still in the tight embrace of my hand.

Swerving my body a little to the back, and making sure my foothold was solid on the fat layer of wood that made up the fence, I launched my dagger, adding the force of <Aura> as well as pouring my full strength into it.

The dagger transversed space in a flash and rapidly approached the horde of Hobgoblins like a speeding bullet, except with red coats of electricity around it.

“Let’s begin stirring up some trouble!” I grinned wickedly.
