Rise of the Crusader

Chapter 61

61 Reward

As Raphael, Aliyah, and Dwayne arrived at the academy, they headed straight to the student administration block immediately.

With one of them then pushing the door of the room which they were told to report to after completing Kayla’s mission, the three of them stepped into the room.

There was currently a discussion going on between a middle-aged woman and a youth of average height inside the room when Raphael, Aliyah, and Dwayne entered. However, as the woman saw the trio, she waved her hand at the youth immediately.

“Okay boss” The youth replied to the woman with a slight bow and then walked out of the room.

On his way out, he didn’t glance at the trio in front, and instead kept a straight face the whole time.

“Dwayne, Aliyah, and Raphael, isn’t it?” A few seconds after the youth left the room, the woman took a file among the many which were on her desk, and then spoke in a decisive tone.

There was no response from neither Raphael, Aliyah, or Dwayne when they heard the woman, and instead, they continued to stare at her.

While the woman in front of them wasn’t, in fact, very beautiful, the figure which she possessed made up for perhaps any flaw she had. She was well-developed in both her bosom and buttocks with then very long black hair and violet eyes.

The woman was putting on a black and white suit with a tiny fist logo on the black suit she was on, which in the academy signified that she was of a very high rank. And as she stared at Raphael, Aliyah, and Dwayne, a smile could be seen on her face.

.....

“We have received the complete payment from Kayla, therefore, the Winchester mission you were assigned to can be considered completed.” The woman said.

“The rewards points for completing the mission will also be transferred to shortly, but I would say you shouldn’t get your hopes high since the mission itself is merely a D-rank mission.”

The woman had just spoken finished when a notification sound rang out from the trio wristwatch. Raphael, Aliyah, and Dwayne stared at the woman when they heard the notification, before then tapping their wristwatch.

‘Congratulations on successfully completing the mission! Thirty thousand points have been deposited into your student wallets... Have a splendid day

As Raphael read the message on his screen, his eyebrows furrowed, and when he glanced at Dwayne and Aliyah, both of them had the same expression he had on their faces.

“I know what you’re thinking,” The woman paused, “The academy is a cheerful giver. I find it displeasing that they would offer that ridiculous amount for a D-Rank mission, if it were left to me, I would have offered five thousand or even lower than that.”

The woman shook her head, seemingly displeased by the academy’s good nature. “Anyway, that’s going to be all for now. You can return back to your dormitory.” She said, and then opened one of the files on the desk.

Raphael glanced at the woman for a few seconds, before he turned and then headed to the door. Those five digits the academy offered might be held to a high standard for some of the students in the academy, but to Raphael, it felt like peanuts.

What could he possibly buy with those points, a bolt, screwdriver, or what, Raphael couldn’t help but wonder?

Aliyah, Raphael, and Dwayne were about to step out when the middle-aged woman’s voice rang out. “And, as for you, Raphael, beware of the people you bring in your circle. In this place, it is a trade-off, no one would grant you favor without wanting something in return.”

Raphael’s mouth opened slightly when he heard the woman, he wanted to speak, but suddenly shook his head. “Thanks for the warning, but I’m well aware of that.” After a few seconds, Raphael responded.

With that then said, Raphael walked out of the room.

In the room after Raphael, Aliyah, and Dwayne had left, the woman suddenly burst into laughter. “Hahahahaha!! Indeed, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” She exclaimed.

KNOCK!

As the woman heard the door knock, the smile which was on her face vanished immediately, and it was instead replaced by a very grim look. Her eyes flashed with killing intent, and it was impossible to believe that this woman was capable of even smiling.

The person who walked into the room was a student, and as he saw the look on the woman’s face, he gasped heavily.

“Y-You... You said you wanted to see me.”

Meanwhile, after Raphael, Aliyah, and Dwayne left the administration block, they went their separate ways.

There only existed a partnership relationship between and that was even when they were out of the academy.

It took a few minutes, and Raphael was in front of his room door. He pushed the door open and saw Devon, Aiden, Bane, and Camille all in the living room.

The four of them had that exhausted look on their faces, and for the first time, no one was even playing video games.

Raphael raised an eyebrow when he saw the four of them, he then recalled that it wasn’t only his team that was assigned a mission, the others were also sent on missions. Heaving a deep breath, Raphael glanced at his room, then back at the four in the living room.

“Did something happen in the mission you were sent on?” Raphael asked.

While he spoke in a rather curious tone, the expression which he had on his face said otherwise. And when the four of them turned towards him, Raphael folded his hands across his chest.

“That damn mission!!!!” Aiden exclaimed, “We were told to redirect a missile which was launched by our client rivals back to the rival’s base.”

“I know it sounds fun, but it’s not entertaining in any way. Who launches twenty missiles simultaneously? Perhaps if I was able to fly then it wouldn’t be difficult, but I had to create portals in midair, then create another one towards where the missiles were heading towards.

Aiden shook his as he spoke, and had a deep frown on his face.

“Creating a portal isn’t a big deal, but creating many, especially in midair, and then maintaining it there to be able to handle the force of the missile is something. Any slight mishap and It’s over!!!!”

Aiden continued to lament on the mission he was assigned for a few minutes before Raphael then spoke. “But you were able to complete the mission, right?”

“Of course, I did... I wouldn’t be my mother’s favorite child if the mission wasn’t a success.” Aiden responded.

“Ha!”

When Devon and Bane heard Aiden, the both of them chuckled. And a second after, Bane wasn’t able to keep it to just a chuckle, and he burst into laughter.

“Hahaha!!! Come on, no one is going to believe this story of yours, regardless of how many times you say it.” Bane said.

Bane turned towards Raphael, “He’s not lying about the missiles, but the only reason why the mission was a success was because of Elisa.”

Aiden’s eyes bulged when he heard Bane, he placed his leg on top of the other, and then faced the other side of the room.

“If you had come a bit sooner, then you would have witnessed a spectacle that occurred in here.”

“Aiden made a blunder.”

“One of the portals that intercepted the missile didn’t appear at the rival’s camp, but instead it emerged in front of the client’s camp.” Bane paused, “As soon as the portal appeared, a missile flew out of it, and if it hadn’t been for Elisa who immediately made a move on the missile, it would have crashed into the client territory.”

Rachael’s mouth opened slightly, he stared at Devon, and then back at Bane.

“So you see, why the mission wouldn’t have been a success if it wasn’t for Elisa. One of the members of the student’s council just finished screaming at Aiden, when you came in.”

“Screw the student’s council!” Aiden exclaimed. “Wasn’t it just one little mistake, and besides I can’t believe that I had to go through all that to be rewarded with thirty thousand points!”

“Thirty thousand points, for crying out loud... They should in fact all go to hell.” Bane stated with a frown on his face.

Aiden had just spoken when a creak suddenly sounded from the door. A second after, the door was pushed open, and a woman walked into the room.

“Oh really? The student’s council should go to hell,”

As Camille, Devon, Aiden, and Bane saw the woman who had just walked in, they sat upright, and as for Aiden, his eyes twitched and his body shook.

Though the woman was of petite stature and had an adolescent face, when Aiden came in contact with her emerald green eyes, beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.

“Why don’t you repeat those words, now that I’m here, Aiden!”
