Chapter 83: First day of Academy Life (Part-3)

Kai followed Oliver as he led the way to his personal residence.

It took about five minutes to get there.

It was a one-story building with a roof garden that had different flowers and vegetables growing in it. The air was fresh and the atmosphere around the house was calm, without any sounds disturbing it.

When landing on the ground, Oliver got off the flying disc and took out an old metal key, using it to open the lock on the old wooden door, opening it and inviting Kai inside.

Kai didn't reject his invitation and entered the building.

"Would you like to have some tea? I just got some of the best quality tea leaves from the Fantasia group as a thank you gift," asked Oliver with a gentle voice."Please," replied Kai.

Since Kai didn't reject, Oliver entered the kitchen to make some tea while he told Kai to sit in the dining room.

The dining room had a plain design. The furniture was made out of low-quality wood, but it gave out a refreshing smell and it was well furnished. The floor was also made out of wood and there were some oil paintings and words written on the walls. No runes or anything related to magic cultivation could be found.

In the center of the room, there was a center table with a glass vase on top and a semi-circular sofa surrounding it and facing the windows.

Kai went and sat on the sofa while he waited for Oliver.

For Kai, it was an unexpected reception. After all, for an expert like Oliver to treat an unknown kid with such hospitality is unheard of.

All the experts he had met had a touch of arrogance but Oliver's behaviour was completely different, it was more like your ordinary neighborhood grandpa. It was somewhat similar to grandpa Yami.

After some time, Oliver entered the dining room holding a wooden tray with two glass cups of tea and placed them on the table. He then gave one cup to Kai and took the other one for himself and started drinking it.

The tea's flavor was mildly sweet, with a creamy texture and a mind-calming effect. Kai could feel a 10% increase in his mental strength after drinking the cup of tea.

"This tea is not simple," thought Kai.

Seeing Kai's reaction, Oliver smiled and placed his now finished glass of tea down.

The atmosphere in the room became quiet.

"You must be wondering why did I call you here, Kai?" asked Oliver in a gentle and low voice.

"Yes," he replied. He was also curious why Oliver wanted to meet Kai. After all, there was no connection between them and it was the first time they were meeting. However, he didn't want to miss the chance to ask him about his problem.

With a gentle smile, Oliver looked at Kai.

"There are two reasons. One is personal while the other is to solve your problem."

"Solve my problem?" Kai was shocked.

Oliver already knew about his problem of uncontrollable release of battle aura.

"Did grandpa tell Oliver? No, I don't think so, if that was the case, grandpa would have told me," thought Kai.

Seeing his behaviour, Oliver said, "It's not much of a secret. On the night of the red moon, when you broke through to the Transcendent stage, you created such a phenomenon. And because you are a Battle Mage, do you think it will remain hidden from me?

However, it still surprised me when I saw your profile in the database. How did you progress so quickly and breakthrough from the initial to peak stage Magic Warrior? Were you just lucky for not having your body explode from the excess spiritual energy?"

Kai was shocked when hearing that. He could have died and didn't understand what Oliver was talking about.

"What do you mean that my body could have exploded and what is spiritual energy?" asked Kai panicking.

"No need to panic, but you are still not out of danger.

Spiritual energy, also known as spirit essence, is absorbed by the spirit and that it the cause of your release of battle aura. You may not feel it but I can clearly feel that your soul and body are not in harmony, and if it continues, your body will explode from the spiritual energy overload.

Your spiritual energy is already near peak Magic Warrior and it's still increasing at an uncontrollable rate. If this continued, you would have died.

You just came at the right time, and it's also your luck that I had upgraded the magic clothes this year that I was able to find you."

Hearing that, Kai's back turned cold. He would have been dead without knowing how. He took out a handkerchief from his pocket and rubbed his forehead to clean off the sweat.

"So, is there a way to solve this problem?" asked Kai while trying to calm himself down.

"Yes, there are two ways to do so. As far as I can see, due to you breaking through during a red moon night, your spiritual vessel is huge, almost at the peak Magic Champion stage. It's also due to trying to fill it up that your vessel is absorbing impure spiritual energy from the air at an uncontrollable rate. You can't feel the burden because it is still within your body limit.

So, to solve this problem, you need to either increase your body's capacity by breaking through stages after stages or get rid of the impure spiritual energy and find a method to refine and control spiritual energy.

Mostly, only spirits can absorb spiritual energy after being refined by the magic user, so the method of absorbing for humans and spirits is different."

Kai was still confused after all. Daoma hasn't ever told him that humans could absorb spiritual energy.

"You must be wondering if any races aside spirits can absorb spiritual energy?" asked Oliver with a meaningful expression.

"To absorb spiritual energy, one must fulfill two conditions. One must be a spirit magic user and also a Battle Mage. Only then can you possess a spiritual vessel and become a Battle Archmage. And you, are also a Battle Archmage like me," saying that, a fairy spirit appeared on Oliver's head and she looked at Kai with her cute small eyes.

Seeing this, Oliver laughed. "This is Tink, my spirit. Also, one more thing, a Battle Archmage can only make a single contract with a spirit and it must be an eternal contact. The spirit and the user go side by side. If one lags behind, the other will also not progress."

Kai then had a weird expression and remembered Shiro, who was sleeping in his spirit Origin.

Shiro was already a world spirit and didn't need to absorb spirit essence. It must have been the reason why his spiritual energy is increasing at such a high rate.

He also didn't know when he would break through to the Magic Knight realm, but he could only hope Oliver had a method to get rid of the impure spiritual energy and control the rate of absorption.

"I don't want a young Battle Archmage to die meaninglessly and I am not sure when you will break through to the Magic Knight stage. We can only follow the second method and get rid of the impure spiritual energy and recultivate it again. You are lucky that I have a method to do it." Oliver had a sly smile and stood up, telling Kai to follow him as they entered the house's underground basement.

Entering the basement, Kai was shocked to find that the entire basement only had a purple light lamp and a girl of Kai's age tied up by a rope and many magic restrictions placed on her.

Oliver, who was standing beside Kai, had a sinister smile.

"I need you to tame her and get some information out of her mouth. She is also the person who can get rid of your impure spiritual energy."
