Chapter 1431: Dad's Surprise
Chapter 1431: Dad's Surprise
Once I was finally finished doing all my chores, I ran to see Ruby and master Felicia, finding them doing all kinds of alchemy.
Apparently Ruby had already finished making some potions, a beautiful syrupy, red-colored potion at that, it looked potent.
"I see you already made some potions, Ruby!" I said. "How was it? Easy or hard? Has master not acting weird?"
"Oh! Ah, it's pretty easy now that I've done it," said Ruby. "I-I've been using my blessing now, it's working interestingly... well enough?"
"Huh! Let me see..." I walked to see the potion. "Nice. It's... Nam, nam! Tasty? Sweet!"
It was incredibly sweet, actually! Did she pour way too much sugar into this or what?
Nonetheless, it seemed addictive, almost like...
Hmm, what if she makes them into candies?Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Potion candies you can slowly eat while you heal over time, wouldn't that be great too?
"Yeah," said Ruby. "It got enhanced and the sugars somehow got... like weird."
"Huh, interesting," I said with a nod. "Alright, amazingly done Ruby! You should rest now. Master, please stop exploiting this poor girl already!"
"Hahaha! It was just getting fun!" sighed master Felicia. "Anyways Sylphy, I hope you're done already with the test? It's the final day after all..."
"Y-Yeah, it's done, here," I showed her everything I had done.
Ruby gasped as she saw everything I made, surprised by how capable I was with alchemy, heh! Not only that, but everything was of top-notch quality, overflowing with powerful magical auras. So I bet she was surprised.
Don't worry Ruby, you'll be able to do even better things with your Blessing!
"Oooh! Good! It's looks all good," nodded Felicia. "Hmm... well, not totally good, there's a few flaws here and there but you get almost perfect score. ALMOST."
Agh! Of course she'll find some things bad, this ungrateful master always has something to complain or be nitpicky about.
But she's the best Alchemist in the world perhaps, so I guess I can't blame her for that... "Ugh..." I groaned. "T-Thanks anyways!"
I suppose that's it, huh? She didn't even give me a qualification or something? Not even some proper exam or anything...
This is my master I suppose...
She was just looking pleased, grabbing the items I made for her with a cute smile, is she a child or something?
"You made so many things, Sylphy, you're incredible..." Ruby said, slightly flustered. "I-I want to get to that level one day too..."
"Oh? But you'll easily get there as well!" I said. "Your Blessing's there to help you catch up, so don't worry, Ruby. Also I'm sure once you add Alchemy to your Forging and Smithing Arts, you'll become even more amazing."
"Hahaha... You sure love praising people," sighed Ruby. "Thanks... It hasn't been long but, you're a really good friend Sylphy. I'm really grateful... I don't think there's many people like you out there, I even would like to believe you're the only one in the world like this. I'm truly lucky to have found you..."
"Aww, there's no point in getting all flustered about it!" I giggled. "Anyways, should we go eat something already? I'm starving, honestly... Doing a lot of alchemy gets me all exhausted."
"Hmm, that's a good idea, I'm quite hungry myself," said master Felicia. "What about Ruby?"
"Ah, I'm fine," said Ruby. "I usually don't eat too much so I'm not used to eat a lot like you guys..."
"Hmm..."
As Ruby talked, I kept staring at her potion.
"Sylphy? Is the potion weird? Something wrong?"
"Oh! No, not at all! It's just that, I was thinking... If you were able to make the sugars of the potion like this until it became syrup-like, why don't you let it cool down and harden into candies?"
"Candies?!"
As Ruby gasped, realizing the potential of her invention, master Felicia was the first to react to my suggestion aside from Ruby's shocking gasp.
"Woah! I can't believe I didn't think about that! Sylphy you're a genius! Potion Candies! Who wouldn't want to buy that? You eat them over time and can heal from inflicted injuries!" she said. "It's an excellent idea!"
"Right?" I asked. "What do you think, Ruby?"
"I-I didn't thought about that but it sounds interesting," she nodded. "I don't know how to make them into candies though..."
"I can help! I got some cooking magic for assistance," I said. "How about you learn some cooking magic spells as well? They're super useful!"
"Ah, yeah, sounds like a plan then! Thanks Sylphy... Um," Ruby suddenly took something from her pocket. "Here, please take this... It's my first ever item made through alchemy. And also... the first item I've ever made that ended just how I wanted it and just how I imagined it to be."
"Oh? Ruby..."
She gave me what resembled a gold-colored butterfly hairpin, with red jewels beautifully
decorating it!
"Woah, it's beautiful! For me? Really?"
I looked at her in the eyes, and she seemed a bit embarrassed of giving me a gift.
"Y-Yeah... take it, it's a gift from my gratitude. I owe you a lot after all."
"Nice! Thanks a lot Ruby!"
I hugged her tightly, jumping over her and then kissing her cheek.
"I'll treasure it!"
"s-Sylphy..."
She looked redder than usual; her eyes looked a bit dizzy.
"I'm not used to this kind of hugging stuff..."
"Aah! Sorry, sorry!"
I quickly stepped back to give Ruby her personal space.
"It's fine, don't worry," she smiled. "Anyways, should we get going?"
"Sure!" I nodded. "Master, let's go eat something, stop glancing at the syrup potions."
"Ahhh! Yeah, yeah!" Felicia quickly ran behind us.
And then, as the three of us were about to walk out of the workshop, a fourth person arrived. It was my tired-looking father, who brought with him two spiritual beings!
Last time I saw him, he went to somewhere else, I think!
"I'm back... Hahh..." he sighed in relief, he looked terribly exhausted. "Here, Ruby, I got you
two Spirits."
Just like that, dad handled over two spirits for Ruby to make a familiar contract with.
"Wait, what?!"
