Chapter 2393: Test
Chapter 2393: Test
The two humans didn't know what to do.
They are overwhelmed by Sam's killing intent and aura. However, their instinct screamed something in their heads.
'Just do it'
It is telling them to obey his words. They only loosened up when Sam finally eased his aura over him. They exchanged a glance. The man took out a dagger and got into a fighting stance while the woman left.
Sam didn't attack, neither did the young man.
"She will bring our leader." The young man said through his low tone. He felt exhausted just for talking out loud in Sam's presence.
Sam didn't respond and turned to the waters.
The Hydra bloodline in him raged out and the beasts inside the Seas kept their heads out as if they are answering a command.
"I have some questions for you. I need you to answer them honestly."
Sam said while he placed his hand on the knocked out weird humanoid creature. He is only getting a good look of it now. The creature has a scaly skin. He looked very much like a reptile. If someone is presented his skin and only a patch of his skin, they will definitely mistake it for some snake's skin.
He channeled his spiritual energy into its body and used observation.
Meanwhile, the sea creatures nervously awaited his questions.
Sam opened his eyes after getting a good look inside the creature and frowned.
All the organs inside seemed a bit different. Which is to be expected, but the bone structure
and muscle structure of this creature is awfully similar to a human. No, similar is not even the right word. They are exactly the same.
Sam stopped and looked at the sea creatures.
"I am talking to you guys. I need an answer."
*ROAR*
The sea beasts started making noises in acquiescence. But there is a faint hint of confusion and doubt as if they are doubting if Sam could even understand them.
Sam nodded and said.
"Good, now explain. What are those sea creatures? The humanoid ones. What exactly are..." Sam kept on barraging them with questions and these beasts answered to the best of their abilities. Sam got the gist of the situation and it seemed like even the beasts don't know the full extent of the story.
From what they knew, a few years back, the seas are invaded by these weird humanoid creatures and once they did, they started polluting the water somehow. They mutated some other sea beasts and they reproduced quickly.
They don't know where they came from, but they can increase their numbers by capturing the humans and turning them.
They also amassed a lot of forces by forcing some of the other sea beasts to mutate. The sharks that Sam are also part of those creatures.
The water that Sam came past just now is also infested by those creatures and these sea beasts that previously used to stay were driven closer to the shores. However, they realized that the only creatures that had a fighting chance against these are the ones with poison and venomous affinities.
The poison secreted by them, polluted the surrounding water and those sea creatures are awfully sensitive about these poisons.
Then, through the help of a tamer, the sea beasts made a contract with the humans here after finding out that these weird sea creatures are the common enemy to these beasts and humans alike. They are defending the shore.
That is all Sam got from them.
He turned to looked at the young man who is still staring at Sam vigilantly, and also as if Sam is crazy.
Before Sam could direct some questions to him, he noticed the movements not too far away. "That's a big party."
Sam said with a smile.
Within no time, he is surrounded. His back is to the sea, while the Sea shore is covered with cultivators of various levels.
Two bird type beasts are covering the sky, upon which four people are standing with spears and bows. The young man who was tense until now, finally relaxed a bit.
The crowd is dense with all kinds of combatants. They all stood in a formation with close range surrounding Sam, followed by some mages who already conjured some attacks and are ready to launch.
Then the long range attackers aiming their spears and bows. There are at least a fifty people or so surrounding him.
Among them, there is one woman who seemed to be middle-aged stood in the middle. Her hair has some greys here and there and she had crow's feet wrinkles at the corners of her eyes. There are also dark circles decorating those eyes.
She appeared exhausted and drained.
"Who are you? Why are you here?"
She asked Sam. A tired but authoritative tone. She is a late-stage cultivator of Divine plane initiation. The strongest among them all.
Sam sighed slightly and said.
"Can I assume that you are the leader?"
She nodded slightly.
"Alright, as I said before. I am a visitor. Where I came from is not from this world and how I came is through the means beyond your reach. All I can tell you is that I came here to help the humans of this planet to recover some of their lost lands back.
That is my goal and I would like it if you guys cooperate with me."
The lady frowned but before she could speak, the young lady who just returned alo with the
group asked.
"How do you think we can trust you? For all we know, you are just another one of those fish creatures that came to kill us, in disguise."
Sam smirked at those words.
"Trust me, to kill the people here, which is actually an easiest way to achieve my final goal by the way, I do not under no circumstances need to disguise myself. If I wanted that, I could have stormed your settlement like I am visiting my backyard and you wouldn't have been able
to do anything to stop me.
As for proof...
From what limited knowledge I gained while waiting for you guys is that you are being attacked by those fish type creatures. The sea beasts and you are in the same boat now. The poison excreted by the sea beasts and the tower that you built on the sea shore are the only means that you have to identify and resist any attacks that come from these creatures.
The tower is enchanted with a spirit or rather a very strong soul that has very high affinity with soul energy to the point it can sense the human souls nearby.
The voice I heard before, to come to this island and leave that fish creature behind must have been from that as well."
Everyone looked at the young man who kept an eye on Sam since the start. They suspected
that he told them.
"I learned that from the sea beasts."
Sam clarified. One of the members of the group stepped forward and communicated with the
sea beasts. Most likely the tamer.
"He is telling the truth about learning it from the beasts. And they also think he has no reaction against their poison. So, he must be a human."
Another tamer who is standing behind also sent a message forward saying that his beast is sensing that Sam's scent is clearly human.
"I don't want to waste too much time. If you want, I will just stay here and you can just tell me the way to prove myself. Then we can talk. I don't want to count your own contemplation to figure out if you can trust me or not. I don't have that much time."
The group got rowdy.
"We cannot trust him. Not in our current situation. I suggest we just kill him." The first girl
passionately said.
"I agree. We can't afford this."
"But don't you think this is too weird. If someone really wants to infiltrate in disguise, would
they come in such an aboveboard way?"
There are basically three sides. One to kill him, the other to talk to him, the third to just let
him go and leave the way he came from.
The leader rarely spoke and it seemed like she just took her decision without having to explainNôv(el)B\\jnn
it to them.
"The tower and the sea beasts have both witnessed him fighting those creatures. Even the first responders have seen him knock down and bring one of them back forcefully. We all know, the creatures cannot use regular attacks and they cannot use artifacts. Our responders
once again vouch that he did.
It is very unlikely that he is one of the creatures, but of course it is indeed hard to trust him.
So, let's give him a test."
She spoke as if Sam is not even there. Then she turned to him and said.
"If you really want to help us, it wouldn't be enough for you to just enough capable of killing
us all. I can do that too, but even I cannot go against those creatures on a large scale.
So, prove yourself. Go into the sea and kill fifty of those ordinary ones and find one of their group leaders. Bring their heads to me as proof and I will listen to you."
Sam didn't even say anything and just turned towards the sea.
Everyone stood there in silence. For most people in the group, it felt like their leader actually
took the decision to kill him. After all, in their minds, it is impossible to achieve what was
asked.
Sam stood there in silence.
"If you cannot do it, then leave the way you came. Even if you are not part of those creatures,
if you are not capable of that, we cannot use you. Your presence won't make any difference."
Sam kicked the ground and flew into the air. He leaped over the area covered by the sea beasts
and was about to dive into the water.
At that moment, with a flash, Mia came out of the divine dimension.
*ROAR*
All her nine heads roared at the same time, making even the seas shiver.
*SPLASH*
Sam and Mia went into the water creating a huge splash. A huge wave rose over and came
towards the shore. The sea beasts had to create an opposite wave to block it.
Everyone looked at the scene in utter shock.
