Progenitor Vampire: I Have Many Skills!

Chapter 490 Secrets

Matthew, Isla, and Alice acted the same way after hearing this.

"You stole it? Something that important?" incredulously, Matthew had to ask that question.

And Alessa lifted her chest and laughed. "Hehe." Her proud smile shocked Matthew, but she spoke again. "Originally, it was a ring that belonged to me since I could control the entire Spirit World with it. But doesn't it look better on you? It's perfect."

Matthew looked at his finger and then looked at her.

Controlling the Supreme Castle, the ruling entity of the Spirit World, naturally meant controlling it. And it wasn't something as simple as a Vampire Clan; it was a whole world! A whole race!

He didn't even know how to react.

"No, that's not so perfect. Do you understand what this means? Do you know what it means to control the Supreme Castle?"

Alessa thought he was rejecting her this time, but instead of being discouraged, she looked away like a spoiled child as she snorted. "It's nothing, since when did you become indecisive? Since you agreed to control the Allen Clan to marry Alice, isn't my wedding gift better? I'm giving you a whole world. Clearly, it's better." She spoke.

At last, she smiled proudly and lowered to look at her chest, then looked at Matt again.

"Even though I'm not like her, I'm sure I can keep up with her."

No matter what she said, Matthew was in shock. He almost forgot how it felt to react to her nonchalant attitude.

But when he planned to talk about giving the Ring back to her, she seemed to read his mind and raised her hand.

"No. The Supreme Ring cannot be returned. Once it chooses an owner, it will stay with him until its owner dies. Even if I forced it to choose owner this time, that remains."

As she finished speaking, a different voice reached Matthew's ear.

-She's right.

It was from the Spirit Essence that had been silent all this time.

-Don't underestimate the treasure she gave you. It is very precious.

'I understand it is precious, but shouldn't a Spirit have it? It's tantamount to controlling the Spirit World, isn't it?'

-More than that. You want me to tell you a secret? The Ring of the Supreme does not choose anyone who is not worthy. Even if she wanted to force that Ring to have Alice or another vampire, human, or any other race as its owner, it would not accept it. But you are different. She feels you are just like her, so she took a chance, and her gamble worked well.

Matthew frowned. 'Do you mean by my blood or the Spirit Essence?'

-Blood. I can only make you a distant progenitor, someone external. I would never be worthy to wear the Ring of the Supreme because I have no body, much less blood. Only those with worthy blood can possess it.

'In short, it's my Dietrich blood. Is it because of the proximity to the central line? Come to think of it, you are the Spiritual Essence; surely, you have lived for over 10 million years. Did you come to know the Dietrich?'

-Of course, it is because of your Dietrich Blood, but at the same time, no. Not just any Dietrich could be accepted by the Ring of the Supreme. And yes, I did meet the Dietrichs.

In this, Matthew found a possible source of important information, so he turned his attention to trying to ask him questions now that he was actively responding.

'How do you know that not just any Dietrich could be accepted by the Ring? So, it's because of how close I am to the central bloodline?'

I know because we took the test once. You must remember that we once had a contract with the vampire race, which was made between Dietrich and us. We tested many people with the Ring of the Supreme, even the children of the Great Dietrich, but they all failed. Only three people succeeded.

'Who?'

'The Great Dietrich. You and someone else.

'Me?'

-Don't you remember? I thought you might remember now that the Ring recognized you. It seems you have even forgotten how to use it.

Matthew couldn't help but frown even more at all this. But that was the source of information he needed.

'Wait, since you say I once had it, you mean during the ancient era, I controlled the Spirit World?' he asked.

At that question, the Spirit Essence was silent for a full minute before answering.

-You were not the controller; it was just a test to see if you could do it. The controller was The Great Dietrich.

'If you say that, then something doesn't add up.'

-What is it?

'My death. When did I die to set the Ring free?' he questioned.

While this seemed to give him information, it only created questions in his head that didn't seem to want to be answered anytime soon, which was annoying.

Once again, the Spirit Essence was silent. No one knows why.

2 minutes later, he spoke.

-When you remember your father, you will remember.

Matthew frowned. That seemed to indicate to him that his father did something about it.

'My father was the Great Dietrich, correct?'

-If he weren't, I wouldn't have chosen you.

Matthew nodded. 'Okay, now at least I have confirmed that my father was that legendary man who destroyed the sun.' He thought and then asked the Essence another question.

'Why? Is there a special reason? You seem to have a lot of respect for him; is it because of his strength? He destroyed the sun, after all.'

-As long as the contract is still in force, I have a duty to do so.

His answer came as a great shock to Matthew. 'What? Is the contract still in force? Don't they say it was broken?' He asked quickly.

-Everyone thinks it's broken because they can no longer contact the vampire race, but it's still in force. I know because I am the root of the contract. It's just inoperative; it doesn't work because it seems to be asleep.

Matthew's eyes flashed. 'Why? Can you tell me the reasons for it?'

-I can't answer that question. Only you and your father should know.

'Me?'Nôv(el)B\\jnn

-Yes.

Matthew sighed. He realized that all of that should be in his memories of the past—those blissful, wonderful memories that he couldn't remember.

That was very troubling, but it was no time for regrets.

He shifted his focus to something else he found interesting.

'Who is the third person who was able to control the Ring?' he asked.

And the answer he received immediately.

-I can't answer that question.

Leaving Matthew in shock. He couldn't even understand why he couldn't answer it.

He even told him that he and his father had managed to control it, but not that other person? Who was he or she? Ally? Enemy?

It was stressful for him to ask that question, but that was okay. It just meant that he should put a lot of effort into strengthening himself in case that person turned out to be an enemy.

However, receiving this answer made him seriously consider what questions he wanted to ask. It seemed this guy wouldn't answer everything, and that was a bit annoying.

'Can you answer questions from 10 million years ago?' he asked.

The Spirit Essence today seemed to be more active than ever, so he answered very quickly.

-Once, when your father was making a big plan, he told me: You must be patient. Patience is a virtue that comes with rewards and keeps you active to get what you want. If you are impatient, you will destroy yourself and never accomplish what you set out to do.

Matthew frowned. He hadn't asked a question, but the Essence's answer seemed to imply several things. Basically, it was telling him to be patient and that the questions in his head would be answered slowly.

Matthew closed his eyes and sighed. Then he heard the voice of the Essence once again.

-Enter the Academic World. There, you will be able to answer many of your questions yourself.

Matthew nodded slightly.

"Matt, are you listening to me?" Suddenly, a voice brought him out of his thoughts.

Then he looked at Alice, Isla, and Alessa before him, trying to talk to him. Maybe they had been doing that for a while.

He shook his head. "I'm sorry, I wasn't listening. What's wrong?" he asked, raising his hand to stroke Alessa's head a little.

"Don't do things like that in the future. Stealing from your elders will cause them to be angry; what am I supposed to tell them when I see them?" He spoke.

Alessa smiled, "What will they say? Just tell them you're the new Boss, my future husband; I'll help you beat them if they don't want to obey." She put a hand on her arm and smiled. "I'm strong."

Matthew sighed and decided not to pursue that conversation any further. He wouldn't turn it down if someone gave him something as good as this.

Though somehow he felt he had forgotten to ask the Spirit Essence something, he decided to leave it for later since he couldn't remember.

He looked at Alice and smiled at her. "It looks like sending you over there was a good idea. I can see you've strengthened yourself properly."

Alice nodded happily. "Hehe, my power increases greatly in war. Also, I was fortunate that those guys sent help to the City so I could kill a lot. I'm confident of breaking my father's record now." She replied. "But it looks like you broke it before me."

Matthew shrugged a little and raised his hand to caress her, but his hand went past to Alice's back, and an explosion occurred there.

This sent him, Alice, and Isla rolling backward, and Matthew, in one motion, stepped in front of Alice to protect her.

"Old man, I think I understand now why you are no longer the leader."

A man appeared in front of them from the darkness nearby. He smiled in a sinister manner. "Oh, yeah? Hehe, I hear you then."

Matthew scoffed. "You're such an idiot. Your choices are so predictable, and you have no charisma; you don't even know how to pick a side."

The man in front of him was, indeed, the former leader of Clan City.
