Progenitor Vampire: I Have Many Skills!

Chapter 460: A woman with unwavering determination

As Sophia left the Castle, Emma appeared near her.

"Do you have any way of getting to where Matthew is?" Emma asked.

Sophia smiled. "Why are you so sure he’ll win? You didn’t even listen to anything your family told you."

Emma sighed. "It’s not about winning or not winning. If we keep holding back to take on these guys, we’ll lose a lot of our leverage. The Head Heirs are getting more and more off track. One is following the way of the spear, never killing rivals who may grow to threaten him. Another wants to have fun with silly situations and a childish view of the world.

The other is looking for rivals outside our territories, so I can count most of them. We are weakening ourselves without realizing it, and our grandparents’ generation is deteriorating."

"But they are not. They are getting stronger, and the presence of their members has increased drastically, according to Matthew. I feel that Matthew knows more about that organization, which has not yet been revealed, and that’s why he is moving. He’s no fool; as long as I’ve known him, most of his steps have a motive, and since returning from the Human Empire, he’s been more determined than ever."

"Do you really think sitting still is the best option? I don’t know if he will be the next Leader of our vampire race, and I don’t know if he can surpass Gray Allen either, but what I do know is that he is the only one who, despite saying he doesn’t care about the race, is doing something for it.

I’m sorry, my worldview is not to blindly become strong while ignoring the problems facing society; that’s why I have to go with him." She replied.

Sophia smiled and put a hand on her shoulder. "No wonder Charles Relish likes you. But it seems that even he, in all his glory, will not be reciprocated."

Emma shook her head. "I have never liked Lord Charles. He is that childish one among the Heirs. He is not far-sighted; his determination is so low that, I am sure, if he were not Heir to a Vampiric Clan, he would let his own talent die." She replied.

"And Matthew, do you like him?" Sophia suddenly asked, making Emma look at her.

But she didn’t know how to answer her question.

Perhaps Matthew fulfilled all the points she demanded in a man. Or maybe she saw him as a superior.

Sophia then smiled. "Do you intend to become Matthew’s subordinate?" she asked again, and Emma nodded.

"If he needs help, I can be a hand for him. If he ignores society’s welfare, then someone by his side will care about it, so I will make his team a more complete one. He may not look out for society, but if I am by his side, I will possibly become stronger and can do it myself." She replied.

Sophia was convinced of her determination, so she granted her a small card. "Since you’re going in the same direction, why don’t you take it to him then?" she said and started walking.

’Sometimes I feel like I’m too weak at people’s insistence... But I think this woman is worthy of being by your side, Matthew Dietrich.’ Sophia then disappeared into the walking crowd at the Capital, leaving Emma slightly pensive.

In her heart, she thanked her. Emma had now found what her path was.

Perhaps her path was always to be someone’s subordinate. Charles Relish allowed her to be his, but Charles’ short-sightedness made her recoil at any thought of trying to be one. Besides, he wasn’t a man who kept up with what she wanted. But now she found a man who kept with everything she had always wanted to see, and perhaps her path was to be his subordinate.

’I don’t know why I feel that even being his subordinate might be a greater status than being an Heir.’ A somewhat crazy thought crossed her mind as she boarded a Large Scale Ship and set off toward the City of Clans.

...

A day later, the world came full circle in what was known regarding traitors.

The news of Jack Allen, Sophia Murphy, and Ryan Adams shocked the World. Other very high-level people also came out to say various things regarding the traitors. The names of the traitors were so shocking that they left the world in shock.

The last of those important communiqués, perhaps the most shocking in the political arena, was the last-minute communiqué from Dawid Lewis and Reagan Cooper.

Such a communiqué whipped all the kingdoms, setting the current Clan City as traitors and placing tremendous emphasis on the Top Leaders.

News after news shocked the world and made Matthew smile.

That same night, he got a message from Sophia, so he knew what had happened at the Royal Castle. He opened a gap in his schedule to meet Emma, who would arrive tonight.

She had already disembarked from the ship in a nearby town, and as she was undercover, she did not cause a stir, while Matthew waited for her outside the city. He came alone.

Soon, a figure came into his vision, and he smiled from afar as he saw her jump several times to get there faster.

She wore a long cloak that covered her entire body, but Matthew could clearly see that her red lips were smiling slightly at him. Nôv(el)B\\jnn

"It’s been a while since the last time, Miss Emma." He waved at her, and she removed her cloak.

"It’s been a while, Matthew. You seem to have become more powerful. From afar, I could feel as if a huge bloody beast was watching me; for a moment, I felt fear." She replied, joking a little, though what she was saying was real.

She wasn’t the only one who felt it. Many people could feel that when they faced him, and at this point, Matthew doesn’t know what it is, though he imagines it’s because of his blood.

"Hahaha, to be able to strike fear into a woman capable of saying so many things to the King and the former King with my eyes is symbolic of me getting stronger." He laughed out loud after this; it was a genuine laugh.

He was becoming increasingly convinced that Emma was a worthy woman—just as he felt the first time he met her, but now that feeling was stronger.

She had earned his respect; he even felt he admired her. Her determination... Maybe even he didn’t have it.

She nodded a little. "If you came out to greet me after you got the news, I guess you’re willing to accept me, right? Even though I’m not very strong or talented, I have you to thank for this."

Matthew then walked toward her and held out his hand. "It is my honor to work with a woman like you. When I first met you, you reminded me of a woman who reached the greatest heights because of her determination. And now I am convinced you are not like her, but your determination is unmatched.

Within your own field, you are unmatched, so if you accept my hand, you will be accepting that from now on, you will be by my side. You won’t be able to look away, and you won’t be able to think about leaving either because I will make you a woman unmatched in this place."

"Only someone like you is worthy of being an Empress. So, if your dream passes through my plans, I hope you are willing to accept my proposal." He said, leaving her speechless.

It was a moment when his tone changed from joking to serious, and with such extraordinary foresight, she couldn’t help but be speechless.
