Chapter 95 A Terrifying Creature
It was as though the wave that could drown an entire planet did not faze her one bit.
Since only a single figure stood close to the sea, he was not the only one to notice her; a few others quickly noticed the abnormality, as well.
Soon, more Souls spotted her, until everyone took notice of her.
"It's the beautiful Divine Fairy from earlier."
Sometime later, the wave abruptly halted and parted, revealing two seven-colored pupils, each the size of a two-story house.
"Th-that can't be real, right?"
"It's just an illusion. Trust me, I specialize in Illusions!" One of them said, trying to convince himself the Magical Beast was a mere illusion despite its terrifying pressure.
"What is a Divine Magical Beast doing in the Immortal Hell!?" Someone shrieked with terror in his voice.
Despite the difference in their Mana, the pressure that they were subjected to could only belong to a Being, who had ascended to Godhood!
As they shrieked in fear and unwillingness, the water parted again, revealing terrifying rows of razor-sharp teeth, each one a few dozen feet tall.
Before the terrified Immortal Souls could even scream in fear, Isabella rolled her eyes, and her beautiful voice sounded out.
"Grandpa, Grandma, for how many eons have you been scaring Souls for? Can't you find a new hobby?"
…Grandpa. Grandma? Who was she talking to?
The Immortal Souls blinked in surprise.
Suddenly, the beast's maw glowed, and an elderly couple calmly stepped out onto the beast's tongue, as if it was solid ground.
But for some reason, their faces were hidden behind a seven-colored resplendent glow.
A few daring individuals tried to use their Immortal Sense on them, but it was to no avail. They could not see their faces.
"Oh dear, can't you let us retired old folks have a bit of fun?" The old man said to Isabella with his hand on his heart as though he had been pierced through his heart by her words.
"The old coot is right, dear. This is the only fun we get nowadays." The old woman agreed with him.
Isabella sighed, "Why did you two show up?"
"What!?" The old man, Gong Nefarim's eyes widened in shock. He turned to his wife and shook her shoulder with a lifeless gaze. "Yan, did you hear what our grandaughter just said? What happened to little Isabella, who always called me 'Gwanpa' and clung to my leg?"
"Could it be that she no longer loves her 'Gwanpa'?" Tears threatened to spill from his eyes, which only Yan Nefarim could see because of the veil surrounding their faces.
"Grandpa!" Isabella blushed in shame and embarrassment. She pouted and muttered indignantly, "I'm no longer a little kid."
"What do you mean you're no longer a kid? In my eyes a -"
But before he could say Isabella's age, he suddenly felt a cold glare that sent shivers down his spine despite long transcending fear.
Gulping nervously, Gong Nefarim smiled sheepishly, "Haha, that was just a mistake. Anyway, where were we again?"
After rolling her eyes, Yan Nefarim said in a serious tone, "We don't have much time left. Let's cut to the chase."
Isabella was confused by the serious tone of her grandma, but she welcomed the change in topic. She was also curious why they were here in the Immortal Hell. Even though they were quite committed to their hobby of scaring Souls, it was quite costly even for them to descend Planes.
The five Planes: Mortal, Immortal, Divine, Primordial, and Transcendent could be likened to a ladder. With Mortal Plane at the bottom and Transcendent Plane at the top. The further down someone wanted to travel, the costlier it would be.
"We heard your 'Master' has returned? Now that he's returned, when can we expect a few dozen grandchildren? You must know, we have been waiting for far too long." Yan Nefarim said with an excited grin on her face.
'...' Isabella was speechless.
'Haah, what did I honestly expect from my grandparents? They've always been like this.'
For as long as she could remember, her grandparents had always gone with the flow. They were goofy and cared little for anyone outside of the Nefarim Race.
Suddenly, Isabella's face turned crimson in excitement. 'But a few dozen kids does sound great. Hehehe~!'
'Better yet, an entire planet filled with our kids!'n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Gong Nefarim shook his head after seeing his granddaughter's state. "Haah, there goes our granddaughter."
"Ahem." Yan Nefarim cleared her throat, breaking Isabella from her daze.
"Anyway, we have a real reason to be here this time. We know you want to use the Sea of Sin to travel to the Mortal Plane to be with Drak'thul. However, are you sure you want to make the same mistake as last time? Powerlessly watching as Drak'thul is ripped to shreds and devoured in front of your very eyes?"
Isabella's expression darkened, and she ground her teeth together upon being reminded of Lucian's death.
"We aren't trying to make you feel bad, dear. What happened back then was an event no one had foreseen. It wasn't and is still to this day not your fault." Gong Nefarim said kindly, with a bit of sadness in his tone.
"Then… what should I do?" As much as Isabella wanted to be with her Master, she did not want him to be harmed again. Therefore, if there was a method to protect him, she would not hesitate to follow through with it.
Yan Nefarim and Gong Nefarim glanced at each other and nodded.
"Conquer Hell." They said simultaneously.
"What!?" Isabella's eyes widened in astonishment. She could not believe the words she had heard. How would conquering Hell help her?
"Dear, did you forget who we are? We are Nefarims! We were born from Sin, live to Sin, and devour Sin. This is the perfect place for you to grow."
Yan Nefarim then continued as she pointed at the Immortal Souls, who were all standing still with their eyes glazed over, "A single person no matter how strong they are, will one day be exhausted after fighting. These Souls are perfect for your goal. Use them and all the others in Hell."
