Primordial Draconic Incubus With A Gourmet Chef System

Chapter 79 Chu Wen's Hatred

Despite the disrespect, the residents kept their mouths shut, fearing that if they spoke, their lives would be as good as forfeited.

"It's fine. Just act like we aren't even here," Fenwick said with a dismissive wave. He did not take Chu Wen's words to heart. She was just another Mage, who bullied the weak and feared the strong. There were many like her in the world. She was just lucky he did not care about her disrespect.

But if it was another Mage with his Rank, it was unknown if she could keep her life after what she had said.

"If that is what your excellency desires, we will act like we never saw you." Jie Deng replied before briefly glancing at Lucian, who was not emitting even a hint of aura.

'Is he their young master? Or… is his Mage Rank so much higher than mine that I can't even sense his Mana Signature?'

However, he did not dwell on it for too long. It was best that he and everyone ignored them, like the expert wanted.

"Wait!"

However, Chu Wen did not share the same sentiment as Jie Deng.

Still, with a furious expression, she pointed at the kneeling residents, while demanding venomously, "Jie Deng, give me one good reason why you are acting like these commoners."

After hearing Chu Wen's words, the gentle and kind expression on Jie Deng's face suddenly turned cold, causing everyone to tremble.

Of course, Lucian, Lily, and Fenwick remained calm.

"Do I have to explain my decisions to you?" Jie Deng coldly asked Chu Wen, who unconsciously lowered her head.

"If you want to die, by all means, go." He added.

Chu Wen opened her mouth to retort, but was interrupted by a stern yet authoritative voice, "That's enough," Zhang Ju said, and then he turned to look at Chu Wen, "We aren't here to squabble like a bunch of children. Even if you don't have any common sense, at least act like you do."

"Y-YOU!" But before she could explode out in anger, she was fiercely glared at by Zhang Ju.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Chu Wen gritted her teeth and swore, 'Just you wait. I, Chu Wen swear to the Heavens I'll make you three pay for this humiliation.'

Even if she could not make Jie Deng and Zhang Ju pay for the humiliation, she could at least make a bunch of commoners pay with their blood.

Unfortunately, because of her overbloated ego, she did not use her Mana Sense on them. Otherwise, she would not have suffered such humiliation, causing her reputation to decrease significantly.

Once Chu Wen turned quiet, Zhang Ju turned to the residents, who were still kneeling. "You all can rise."

The residents hesitated for a moment before slowly getting to their feet. Many of them sighed in relief after the tense and awkward atmosphere dissipated.

Zhang Ju then continued, "I have two reasons to call you all here."

"Firstly, as many of you should know by now, if not all, our city experienced an unprecedented event."

"A city-wide red cloud covered the skies, enshrouding our city in red. We were forced to kneel and helplessly watch as our city was on the verge of destruction. Yet, it was a blessing in disguise after the red cloud disappeared — Our Mage Ranks increased."

"However, what you all don't know is that the phenomenon was caused by a resident from our city — Garrett from Lion's Liver."

Instantly, the residents erupted in discussion after learning what caused the phenomenon in the sky.

"Garrett?... Wait, THAT Garrett!? Our city's fifth Bone Tempering Realm Mage!?"

"Garrett's ascension is old news. Our city now has more Bone Tempering Realm Mages. In fact, I'm one of them now! Hahaha!"

"True. True. But how is the red cloud related to Garrett? Also, has he come back from escorting merchant Orchard?"

"I don't think so. At least, I haven't seen him and his team at the Adventurer's Guild since they left our city."

Meanwhile, Lily tilted her head in confusion after hearing her brother's name.

"Why did brother receive the credit!?" Lily asked, while unconsciously changing the way she addressed Garrett from Big Brother Garrett to just brother.

"Who knows? Let's keep listening," Lucian said with a smile. Of course, Lily's new way of calling Garrett did not go unnoticed by him.

"Oi, can you lot shut up so Ancestor Zhang can continue?" One of the residents shouted with his voice enhanced by Mana.

The crowd fell silent immediately, realizing Zhang Ju was waiting for them.

After shooting a grateful look to the young man, who silenced the other residents, Zhang Ju continued, "A day ago, before leaving Harmony City, Garrett and his team accepted a Quest to gather a pound of Grade 2 Undead Skeleton Bone Powder. And while they were in the Moon Grove Forest collecting bone powder, Garrett made a discovery.

He found a Secret Realm hidden within the trunk of a tree on the verge of withering."

"And we believe the phenomenon that occurred in our city is because of the discovery of the Secret Realm."

"What's a Secret Realm?"

"Does anyone here know what a Secret Realm is?"

"Can't you lot keep quiet for one moment? I'm confident if you can keep your mouth shut, Ancestor Zhang will explain."

However, instead of Zhang Ju, it was Song Liang, who finally spoke since arriving, "Unfortunately, not much is known about Secret Realms. What we do know is that they are hidden Dimensions created by powerful Mages from the Ancient Era. Every time a Secret Realm has been discovered, those who entered and managed to return, all became experts."

"Ancient Era? Isn't that the era when even babies were stronger than us?"

"Brother, you actually believe in those fairy tales? Haah, how could babies who can't even walk and talk be stronger than us?"

"You might be right."

Meanwhile, Lily's eyes widened after she heard the words 'Secret Realm.' She leaned in closer to Lucian's ear and whispered, "Big Brother Lucian, why do they know about the Secret Realm?"

Lucian did not immediately reply to her. He was enjoying the cool and refreshing minty aroma blowing against his cheeks and flowing into his nostrils.

[Frostfire Black Pepper was a nice touch.] Lucian complimented as he continued to enjoy the smell.

[Of course, the System only strives for perfection!] The System replied arrogantly. If it had a body, its chin would have been raised to the Heavens.

[Wow, so you created the Siren's Melody Poached Egg recipe!? Amazing, as expected of the System!] Lucian praised.

After hearing Lucian's words, The System's arrogance deflated like a punctured balloon. [T-That no. …The System does not have the capability to create dishes.]

[Hahaha.] Lucian laughed.

After only a few seconds had passed since Lily asked him, he responded, "I'm not entirely sure. Although when a Secret Realm is discovered phenomenons will occur alerting people, that is only if the creator of the Secret Realm designed it that way."

"Does that mean Grandpa Max wants others to enter the Secret Realm?"

"Probably." Lucian shrugged. "At least, now you don't have to completely lie to your family."

Lily nodded.

"Secondly, the four of us have decided to allow anyone who wishes to enter the Secret Realm to accompany us in."

"WHAT!?"

"We can enter!?"

"HAHAHAHA!"

"Love live the Ancestors!"

The residents erupted in excitement.

"However, keep in mind that each Secret Realm has its own rules and restrictions. Although we are inviting you all to come with us, that doesn't mean everyone will be able to enter. Even we might not be allowed to enter." Zhang Ju added, causing a damper to the excited moods of the residents.

"Furthermore, if you don't believe in your strength, I suggest you continue staying in Thunderfall City. Secret Realms aren't for the weak. Only death is guaranteed once you step inside a Secret Realm. Don't needlessly throw away your lives and be happy with what you have just obtained." Zhang Ju then signaled for Jie Deng to take over.

*Ahem*

Jie Deng cleared his throat, attracting everyone's attention to him, and then said, "Ancestor Zhang is correct. If you aren't strong then please continue staying here. Also, not only will you have to contend against the unknown dangers found within the Secret Realm, but you will also have to be vigilant against Mages from our own city.

Friends and family turning into mortal enemies is common among Mages. And even if your friends and family don't turn against you, you will stay have to worry about Mages from other cities, who have learned of the news regarding the Secret Realm."

And that was why Jie Deng did not mind the three figures staying and listening because he expected they already knew about the Secret Realm.

"If after hearing all of the potential dangers, you still want to enter the Secret Realm, then meet us outside of the city gates. We will be leaving in an hour."
