Chapter 120 Garm Finds an Alchemy Chef
Unbeknownst to them, Garm was far from calm.
[Belieth, wake up! I think I found what we were looking for… a Pill! No. What was it again? That's right! I found a Pill Chef.
] Garm yelled excitedly.
[You damn fatty! Stop screaming! How many times has this Sovereign commanded you not to wake me up? This Sovereign's going back to sleep! Don't bother me again!]
Belieth's hoarse, ancient voice resounded in his mind, but Garm ignored it and hastily said, [Wait, Belieth! Didn't you tell me to find a Pill Chef!?]
[It's called Alchemy Chef.] Belieth corrected with a yawn. [This Sovereign recalls saying something like that. What of it? Out with it. You should know how tiring it is for me to use someone's body. I still need a hundred more years of sleep.]
Garm hastily said, [I might have found an Alchemy Chef. You once said food cooked by an Alchemy Chef requires a Mage Rank Requirement, right? Look at this menu.]
Garm directed his eyes toward the First Rule of Transcendence, letting Belieth read the words through his eyes.
[Hmm. Mage Rank Requirement and adverse effects?] Belieth read the words nonchalantly. [Not bad. To think there's an Alchemy Chef in this backwater world.]
[Not bad. Not bad indeed.] Belieth repeated a few more times. Despite his nonchalance, he was actually quite surprised there was an Alchemy Chef in this Mortal World. [Anyway, where are you? I doubt this Alchemy Chef can help us, but it wouldn't hurt to see their capability.]
[I'm in Lucian's restaurant.] Garm calmly replied as he flipped the page. At the same time, he was curious about what an Alchemy Chef could do compared to a normal chef. Like with most things, Belieth had not told him.
[Y-You.] Belieth was struck with panic and fear. [WHAT IN THE NAME OF HELL ARE YOU DOING IN HIS RESTAURANT!?]
Garm suddenly felt like his head was hit by a hammer. The shriek from Belieth continued to reverberate in his head. It was painful to the point where he let out a yell of his own. Blood oozed from his ears and his body convulsed.
The sudden yell startled Lily, Albert, James, and even Lucian, who had been patiently waiting for the fatty to order.
Instead, he screamed…
'What happened to him? How can he scare my Lily like that?' Lucian frowned and looked at Lily, who had jumped many steps away from their table.
"Master, what's wrong?" Albert panicked and quickly asked.
"Were you injured before arriving here, Sir Garm?" James furrowed his eyebrows.
Garm did not immediately reply as he still felt his head spinning. Only after a few painful seconds did the voice dwindle into nothingness. Though his ears continued to ring, he felt much better.
"Haah," Garm let out a breath of relief and wiped away the blood from his ears, using the napkin given by Albert.
He looked at James and finally responded, "It's just some internal injuries from a fight a long time ago that have yet to recover. I'll be fine soon."
He lied, straight-faced. After all, Belieth was his biggest secret.
[Don't worry. I got injured because Belieth screamed.] Garm explained to Albert, who sighed after hearing his explanation.
[And I was right to scream. You damn fatty, are you trying to get rid of this Sovereign after everything he has done for you?]
Since their Souls were fifty percent combined, if they wanted, they could hear the other thoughts and Voice Transmissions. Therefore, he clearly heard what Garm told Albert.
[What do you mean… I'm trying to help us. Eating food helps me get stronger, which in turn helps you.] Garm's tone was innocent, which further irked Belieth. But he also knew it was not an act, Garm was truly innocent… from his point of view.
However, from Belieth's point of view, he was absolutely guilty!
[... Garm… think… use that thick brain of yours. Lucian has a Dragon Bloodline. What are Dragons known for?]
Suddenly, Garm's eyes widened as he understood what his Master was trying to tell him. His body trembled as he stuttered, [D-Devouring! Dragons are known for devouring and turning anything with Mana into their own!]
In the past 700 years, Garm had learned a lot of information from Belieth. One of them was about Dragons. They were unequaled Magical Beasts — apex creatures who ruled worlds.
Recently, he had even learned a piece of information that could shock the whole world if it was spread — the Dragons, who ruled the Drakonia Continent, were lizards.
[Exactly!] Belieth affirmed in a grave tone. [A Dragon Bloodline means he has the potential to consume us. This Sovereign refuses to be a Dragon's snack after being stuck with you for over seven hundred years.]
Garm's face paled, and sweat soaked his back. He also did not want to be Dragon food.
"Sir Garm, why is your face pale? If you don't feel well, why not go to a Mage with Healing Skills? Or maybe consume a Healing Pill?" James asked. He wondered what caused a Mana King Realm Mage to be grievously injured but kept his curiosity to himself. It was irrelevant information.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Garm forced a smile and nodded. "I'm fine. I would rather let my body heal naturally than consume impurities. Now, let's see what this menu has to offer. Hopefully, it doesn't let me down."
With that said, Garm turned his attention to the menu and began reading the menu.
Through his eyes, Belieth did the same. As much as he was dismissive of an Alchemy Chef from the Mortal World, it did not eliminate his curiosity. Alchemy Chefs were rare even in the Immortal Plane and Divine Plane. Most importantly, he was in dire need of an Alchemy Chef.
[Siren's Melody Poached Egg… Sounds simple.] Belieth snorted in disdain before sighing. [Haah. What did this Sovereign expect from a Mortal?]
However, he continued reading.
Your next chapter awaits on empire
[Oh?] Belieth was a bit surprised. [This brat knows how to create Starlight Vinegar? Not bad.]
