[Nightmare]

Chapter 209 [Crowd Control]

"Let them be attacked and save them? Super~effective, Hellie.

It's a good thing their attacks aren't instant wide-scale murder or anything." Charlotte chimed.

The group burst into laughter and giggles.

"That's why we're having Riley protect them from the long-distance attacks." Helix replied.

"About that…." Marie said hesitantly.

"It shoots fire attacks, right?

Wind stokes fires, and water explodes into deadly steam.

So wouldn't another type of barrier work better?"

Riley and Charlotte nodded hesitantly.

"There's a way." Helix replied with a mysterious smile.

"We'll test it out in the upcoming training.

But not only do I think it'll work, but it'll also send a stunning message to our friends to fuck off."

"That's blunt." Marie giggled.

"So~dominant. I like it." Charlotte said while licking her lips.

Helix gave her a wicked smile before turning back to face everyone.

"We won't be rude, however. It'll be the opposite."

His partners looked at him with confusion.

"CAAAAAN!"

The troops watched the scene in confusion.

However, a massive sun turned the center of the wall yellow.

Then the entire wall became orange.

Finally, it became dark red.

BOOOOOOOOM!

A massive flame shot across the battlefield, scorching over 200 feet over earth.

When the fire collided with the air, it whipped into a frenzy.

"What the fuck is she doing!?" Manson cried.

"Stand back, Lieutenant!" Masov roared.

"[Cyclone]!" Riley yelled.

A massive ball of water materialized in the air directly above the fire.

Powerful wind gusts hit the soldiers from the back, causing many to fall.

As soon as the water and wind met, it exploded violently, causing massive tornado-like winds.

"I~love~it!" Charlotte clucked.

"Nothing shuts up an army like a 200-foot wall of fire."

"You sound like you have experience." Marie giggled.

"I've been around the block a few times." Charlotte replied dismissively.

The group burst into laughter.

"Anyway…." Helix chuckled while drawing everyone's attention.

"After that, Riley will make contact, and they'll shut up and follow orders."

Riley ran up to the army at a ghostly speed.

She was a small black silhouette when the firewall hit.

Fifteen seconds later, she was in front of the soldiers.

"We're General Masov?" She asked in a kind yet firm tone.

"W-Were you the one—"

"Yes. I just stopped that attack." Riley confirmed succinctly.

"I may need to stop another, so can you please take me to General Masov as quickly as you can?"

"Y-Yes, mam!"

The two ran to General Masov.

When he saw her, his face paled.

She wasn't happy in the slightest, which he had never seen.

Macron informed him she was the kindest and sweetest.

So he was sweating.

"General Masov." Riley said with a salute.

The man's expression almost crumbled, and his face filled with shame and bitterness.

"Greetings, Dame Singer." He replied awkwardly.

Masov didn't know what he should call her.

She wasn't an Earthian Knight, and they abandoned their titles.

However, if he called her Ms. SInger, she might let them burn next time.

Riley nodded.

"General Masov. We have this under control.

Please move your mages to the watch tower with archers and your soldiers behind the walls." Riley ordered.

"I'm not defending the Capital or my partners because I'm saving your lives."

General Masov's face paled, and he froze.

"Please move now. I'll shoot a green signal flare for long-range support and a red flare for an attack charge." She continued with a serious voice.

"They are requests, of course.

However, we do not expect the Alzerian military to follow our orders.

We are only ordering you to move to prevent soldiers' casualties from our attack spells or us accidentally getting hit by one of your soldiers."

"Understood, Dame Singer." Masov replied with a firm tone.

Masov gave her a wry smile but immediately turned around.

"We're moving out! Soldiers! Behind the wall, now!

Mages and Archers onto the wall to provide support if requested!" The general ordered in a booming voice.

"Do you not attack unless a green signal flare lights the sky!

If you see that signal, provide support in a way that prioritizes the safety of the Earthians protecting the Capital first!"

"Yes, sir!"

"Thank you, General." Riley said with a salute.

Then she disappeared with ghostly speed, leaving him baffled.

Masov watched her disappear with pain in his heart.

"We'll make a big show of military loyalty, of course." He continued with a grin.

"That's~harsh." Charlotte laughed.

"Why? Isn't that a good thing?" Riley asked in confusion.

"It's because we~are treating them with respect after saving their lives." Charlotte sang with an evil twist.

"Considering they treated us like garbage, it will rub salt in the wound."

"We're not Knights anymore.

So if we treat them like our commanders, it will be comically embarrassing." Marie giggled.

"Exactly." Helix confirmed with a grin.

"Plus, we're saving [their] lives, not the other way around."

His partners burst into giggles.

"What about the Cheat hopefuls?" Marie asked.

"Ruuur Ruff!" Tinker barked indignantly.

Helix laughed and patted the lion-sized dog with a gentle gaze.

His partners burst into giggles.

"You'll keep them in check like a king, Tinker." Helix chuckled.

"They're talking about keeping eighty of them from getting maimed by you."

"Ruuuff." Tinker barked breathlessly in confirmation.

He puffed out his chest with pride and satisfaction.

His partners giggled, and Charlotte patted his back with an evil grin.

Helix turned to the group.

"Macron is our first line of defense." He explained.

"Hellie ex~plicitly asked him to prevent the Knights from attacking." Charlotte chimed.

"I'm sure he's going to be pissssssed once he sees our present."

Helix gave her a wry smile, triggering giggles from his partners.

"Yes. I'm certain Masov will be extra proactive."

Macron was [pissed].

When he saw the Lagrock and Charlotte trailing behind it, he [knew] that the group was responsible for bringing it to the Capital.

When Helix told him they had a plan to get the situation back under control, he didn't expect it to involve bringing a 40-foot monster to the Capital.

"What the hell happened to the weak, rational Helix." Macron mumbled under his breath.

"Bringing a forty-foot fucking monster to the capital.

I'll rip your balls off and use them to play ping pong.

You just wait, boy."

After rounding up the weebs and otakus, he ran up the staircase to the wall.

Now he had to deal with those who ran ahead and hoped they were still there.

Lamath was in charge of the wall, and the man had proved worthless thus far.

So he was praying for a miracle.

"This better be the [stroke] heart attack or…."

Macron shivered at the thought.

Helix had offered him his plan and then offered him information.

His expression told Macron it was serious and wasn't part of a plan.

So Macron knew that this was the first layer [heart attack].

Either way, he needed to keep the Knights from fighting.

When he saw their state, he almost had a heart attack.

"If I knew I'd have a fuckin' heart attack anyway, I would've asked!" Macron yelled breathlessly.

"Kyle, stay back! We're formulating a strategy with the military!" Macron roared.

Kyle planned to jump over the wall and charge, but Macron stopped him.

"Macron is right, Samuel!" Lamath yelled.

"Why? Fighting monsters is what we've been training for!" Samuel yelled.

"If you all start shooting off powerful Nightmares, you'll kill the fucking troops, that's why!" Macron roared.

The otakus and weebs stared at Macron with wide eyes.

"Didn't any of you learn from Helix?" Macron asked.

"He had to work with the Kozen General to prevent his men from being torn apart by earthquakes and tornados!"

Everyone gave Macron a wry smile.

They already missed Helix.

"We don't have influence, though!" Lily cried.

"Yeah… that's a major problem." Maze commented with a sad expression.

"I wish those fucking idiots didn't chase Helix away!" Kyle yelled while gritting his teeth.

"Yeah. Now that this thing is here, I bet those idiots are feeling seriously fucking stupid." Tanya laughed.

"Look, kids! You haven't been training with him for long." Lamath called out.

"So you're not Helix yet! However, you can still work with us to bring this son of a bitch down."

The otakus and weebs groaned with mixed emotions.

"Lamath. Establish a line of communication with Masov." Macron ordered.

"I'll hold the kids back; they're not ready.

If we don't get our shit together, these kids will start going nuclear."

Lamath gave Macron a wry smile, knowing he was taking orders from his rival.

"Look, Lamath. If you think you can wrangle these kids, I'll do it." Macron barked with murderous eyes.

"If you can't, get your ass out there, or I'll get Helix back here to rip out your femur and club you to death with it."

Lamath chuckled in bewilderment.

"It's not fair anymore. Fine, I'll get everything situated." He laughed.

"Our competition is put on hold."

Macron chuckled with a murderous gaze.

Lamath started sweating but moved forward.

"That's right! Listen up, Knights!" Macron roared.

"You can still become Cheat Knights or whatever the fuck they're called.

But you have to survive! You also have to shine as a group like Helix, and his girlfriends do by keeping others safe.

So hold back for now.

Once we have a strategy, we'll grind this monster's bones to dust and season our food with it!"

"Yeah, that's right!" Tanya yelled.

"Haaaaaah. I'm down with that." Miskie said with a grin.

Macron sighed when he saw them willing to pay attention.

"GOOOOOOOOOOORRRRN!"

"Do we seriously believe that we can fight this thing without Helix?" David cried.

BOOOOOOOM!

"Hah. I don't care if Helix is here.

The next I see him, I'll be a broken cheat!" Petra laughed.

"I-I see! I just don't see how." David replied nervously.

"I hate to admit this, but we don't have the monster-fighting training Helix does!" Peter yelled.

"So let's listen to Macron and Lamath!"

"Yeah, I agree! That's what Master Helix told us to do!" Mason roared.

"Yeah!" Chad followed up.

"I'm abiding by the master's words!" Halbert yelled."

"Will he be enough?" Marie asked worriedly.

"Hell no. No one will stop them from jumping over the wall." Helix laughed sardonically.

"We're [definitely] fucked, and we'll have to work extremely hard for them not to die."
