New Life as a Futanari Tentacle Girl

Chapter 104: Mia's vs Trainer Jim

Chapter 104: Mia's vs Trainer Jim

The teacher that happened to call Mia down was actually Trainer Jim.

Up until now, many students had already been tested. They could use magic, items and their own physical strength to show what they were worth.

'It's pretty unfair to many students but in the end wealth is also a strength.' Thea thought with a frown as she had watched a few previous examinees using different pieces of equipment to increase their strength.

Thea and the lion-girls gave some words of encouragement before Mia left for the stage.

Shortly after Mia arrived on stage, standing opposite of Trainer Jim.

As soon as Jim saw that Mia was in position he shouted, "Begin!".

Mia didn't wait long and darted in quickly, in the short time it took her to reach Jim, she had already brandished her daggers and struck out at Jim's abdomen. Jim who was holding his big longsword, swung his weapon and easily parried Mia's slash. He responded with a powerful swipe, which Mia narrowly dodged, leaping away with practiced agility.

Jim however didn't give Mia long to think, launching a series of quick, powerful blows that Mia was finding harder and harder to dodge. When it finally seemed like she was going to fail her dodge, she used her [Shadow Clone] skill.

Thea using her [Draconic Mana Eyes] saw Mia leaving her spot and going to Jim's side, where she then threw several shadow daggers and rushed to his side.

Instructor Jim however seemed to have noticed this and dodged Mia's flying daggers in one fluid movement. Mia was surprised to see how horribly her 'killer move' failed and froze in shock. The instructor used this short moment and struck Mia's side with the flat side of his blade, sending Mia flying, before she tumbled on the ground.

"Alright, that's enough! Medic!" Trainer Jim shouted, he wasn't worried that Mia was hurt as he had controlled his strength, all she would have was some minor scraps from her tumbling on the ground, nothing a [Minor Heal] couldn't fix.

Trainer Jim then walked over to Mia and looked at her with admiration. Despite her defeat, he could see the determination and skill in her eyes, and knew that she had put up a good fight. With a nod of approval, he helped her to her feet.

"When you used your clone skill, I couldn't feel any intent from it, that's a giveaway but that will change as you raise your skill proficiency but remember this for when you are facing intelligent opponents that aren't flustered. Good fight student Mia Kurai, I'll remember your name." Trainer Jim said as the medics arrived.

Mia then walked off the stage and returned to her seat in the stands.

Reina and Reisa were looking at Mia with admiration and awe. They couldn't help but be impressed with how courageously Mia fought with the instructor.

"Good job Mia, although he lowered his strength and speed to match yours, his processing speed is naturally much faster, good fight." Thea comforted Mia, after hugging her when she had sat down.

Mia thought about what Thea said, her dejected spirits raising as realized what Thea said was true.

"Thanks Thea." Mia said as she leaned her head on Thea's shoulder.

"What do you mean good job?!" Reisa almost shouted, causing a few people to look at their direction.

"It was an epic fight, you were moving so fast and those cool skill you used with each other" Reisa began recounting about how cool Mia was during her fight.

Mia and Thea began giggling as they listened to Reisa ramble.

"Alright, alright sis that enough, your embarrassing us!" Reina said as she awkwardly peeked at the students that were watching Reisa's antics.

"Ahaha~" Thea laughed, making the hearts of many people in the surrounding flutter.

Soon Reisa was called onto the stage by another teacher. Although she fought well, using her self-strengthening skills to temporarily raise her strength and defense, she was soon defeated, the gap in student and teacher stats proving too much to handle.

Reina was called down shortly after by yet another teacher, she used self-strengthening skills to raise her strength and speed. Reisa was a better fighter than Reina, but that didn't mean Reina fought bad in any way. She lost in the end as well but just like her sister, the teachers didn't seem to be disappointed.

'Do they have similar skill because they are twins?' Thea thought as she had watched them fight.

When they returned Mia and Thea gave them some praise before they started chatting with each other.

About half an hour later the four girls heard a manly voice shout: "Althea Ewald".

"Well I guess it's my turn, 'I'll be back in a bit." Thea said before she jumped down onto the stage, standing opposite of Trainer Jim who had called her name.
