My Skill Creation System

Chapter 42 Rare Spy Hawk

Nathan spent several hours in the wild meadows. The golem seemed to be silent, but what actually happened was that the soul residing within it was thinking hard about the actions he must take to get out of the problem he was facing.

After some time.

"Luna, I feel something weird, like something is pecking on my forehead," Nathan said, raising his golem body into a sitting position.

Luna raised her eyebrows. "Master Nathan, you've been away from your body for too long. I think you'd better go back soon. Because even if you can feel it, if something happens to your body, it would still be dangerous because there's no one to look after it."

"Do you mean something has found me, Luna? I think what you say is right. Then I'll go back, now."

With its body covered in vines and roots and looking like a living tree, the Golem immediately vanished from sight. Likewise, Nathan's consciousness also returned to his original body.

Nathan opened his eyes, and at that very moment, he saw an eagle sitting right in front of him.

It was Marco's spirit beast.

Nathan was silent and realized that his body was no longer in concealment mode.

'Magic Detection.' He muttered under his breath and tried to find if there was another entity near his position. He found nothing else than what was currently in front of him.

The spirit beast stood as tall as him, who was in a sitting position. Its eyes gazed coldly at him.

"Is this a trap? Am I in a dangerous state? No, no, no. Even if I were in a dangerous situation, my emergency escape skill should work." Nathan tried to be alert while still thinking clearly about the possibilities he was facing.

At that moment, Luna also appeared and floated near the spirit beast.

"Master Nathan, look at the notifications on your system."

Nathan turned to Luna and immediately checked his notification history.

[Marco is transferring the ownership of his Spirit Beast to you]

[Do you accept it?]

[yes/no]

"Huh? Transfer the ownership?"

"Master Nathan, the spirit beast will be completely in your possession. Marco wouldn't be able to control it anymore. Maybe there is a reason why he is handing this spirit beast over to you?" Luna answered.

Nathan nodded slowly and immediately pressed the yes button in front of him.

"Screee… Screee…" The eagle in front of him spoke after a moment of silence and glared at him.

[Transfer process has been successful]

[Name: Geen]

[Race: Rare Spy Hawk]

[Level: 83]

"Level 83?" Nathan was surprised to see the level of the spirit beast.

"Why did Marco transfer the ownership of this spirit beast?"

[Dungeon Participants]

[Nathan Unranked Lv. 34]

[Marco Beginner Lv. 80]

[Zander Beginner Lv. 100]

"According to the information from this participant's dungeon, it shows that Marco is still alive."

Nathan turned to Luna, hoping for an answer. But Luna just shook her head slowly.

Using his Magic Detection skill, Nathan again checked the surroundings and didn't find anyone nearby.

"Is this a trap?"

Nathan turned to the bird in front of him.

"Hi, Geen… So, you are a female bird. Nice to meet you." Nathan smiled at the bird.

Finally, he was happy because he could feel a smile again after almost a day in the golem's body.

"Screee…. Screee…." Geen answered.

"Help? Is that the message from your master?"

"Screee… Screee… Screee…"

"Help, terror, careless." Nathan tried to understand what Geen was saying. However, he could only catch a word that didn't mean enough to him.

"Does Marco need help? Then what's with the terror and carelessness?"

"Master Nathan," Luna called.

"Yes?"

"Why don't you check the skill of Geen first? I'm sure what this bird has will be of great use to you."

It was a great idea, one which Nathan failed to think of because he was too tired. He brought his hand closer to the hawk, gently touching the feathers on its head.

"Let me check your status, Geen."

"Screee… Screee…"

[Local Positioning System: Provide location, geography, and structures around 30 km areas.

The area must be explored first to appear on the mental map.

The map will be automatically shared with the owner.]

[Enhanced Vision: Able to use its senses in all directions at once, allowing it to taste, smell, hear, and see in all directions simultaneously.]

[Visual Linking: Share its vision with the owner, possibly including its enhanced vision.]

Nathan slowly read the information on Geen. He was amazed, seeing that the spirit beast was truly amazing and exactly what he needed at that time.

"Geen is really designed as a scout. It had this high agility. Its Stamina is also very high. Unfortunately, it doesn't have any stealth or camouflage skills." Nathan smiled at Luna.

"Hummu, Hummu..." Luna nodded quickly.

"Local Positioning System," Nathan muttered under his breath.

A digital screen appeared like a transparent map in front of him.

He touched the map and moved it with his finger, which was as he expected. "This map supports 3D and can zoom in and out like a digital GPS."

Nathan only saw one small dot on the map, which showed where Geen was.

"Does this map not show the point where I am? But just to show where Geen is?"

"That's because you and Geen are at one point, Master." Luna answered lightly.

"Screee… Screee…."

Nathan turned to Geen. "Yes? Hungry?"

Nathan chuckled at Geen's words. He then took out some Monster Cores and gave them to the hawk.

Geen grabbed the monster cores in Nathan's palm and quickly devoured them.

"Screee…. Screee…." Geen responded by shaking its head.

"Happy?"

Nathan re-read the skill information from the bird.

"Enhanced Vision allows Geen to see from all directions. And also Visual Linking, the skill to see through Geen's eyes. The combination of these two skills is perfect for a spy bird." Nathan smiled, then stroked the feathers on the bird's head.

"Tell me, Geen. Did Marco have another message for me?"

"Screee… Screee…"

"Terror, let the guard down?" Nathan turned to Luna. "What do you think about these words, Luna?"

Luna nodded slowly. "Perhaps Mr. Marco wants to tell you about how to defeat Zander, Master?"

Nathan nodded at Luna's words.

"Terror? Let the guard down?" Nathan slowly tried to digest the two sentences.

"Defeating Zander, relying solely on my current physical strength and skills, I think it would be very difficult, or even impossible, for me. The level difference between us is too great." Nathan said quietly, still trying to conclude.

"Does Marco mean that one way I can defeat Zander is by attacking his psychology? By terrorizing him and keeping him off guard, thus giving me more chances to defeat him?" Nathan stared questioningly at Luna.

Luna nodded quickly.

"And one more thing. Marco could easily find out where I hid my body. I think he'd be even more troublesome if I had to fight him. Should I worry about him too? Or can I safely say he's on my side?"

"Huh? Why does Master Nathan think like that?"

"I couldn't quite understand what he was thinking. I should be dead by now if he really is on Zander's side. He found me in this completely defenseless condition. However, instead of sharing my location to Zander, he instead gave the ownership of Geen to me. He also gave me a code, as if asking me to defeat Zander. Does this mean that he also believes that I can do it?" Nathan said breathlessly.

"I mean, why does he think I can defeat Zander? What is the basis of his thinking? Does he know more about me than I know about myself? Why is it that, the more I think about him, the more I feel he is quite dangerous?" Nathan looked at Luna. His gaze was filled with confusion. The frown on his forehead showed he was deep in thought.

"Mr. Marco has a Treasure Hunter class. He's not really the fighting type, Master." Luna answered. "Perhaps for that reason, too, he couldn't defeat Zander alone. Could it be that he intended to create opportunities by working together with you?"

Nathan nodded slowly at Luna's opinion. "Yes, however, like what we discussed before, Luna. His response when Zander appeared, as well as his position with Zander, showed that he knew this would happen. He knew that someone was following me. And most likely, he is also spying on me."

Nathan shook his head. He found it difficult to solve the puzzle he was facing.

He turned at Geen and again stroked the feathers on its head. "I'm sorry, Geen. I didn't mean to suspect your old master."

"Screee…. Screee…. Screee…."

"Marco has no heart? He is cruel? Huh? Did I misunderstand what you said?"

"Screee…. Screee… Screee…"

Nathan tried to understand what Geen was saying. But what he got was still the same. "It seems I didn't misunderstand. Geen really meant to say that Marco is a ruthless person. What kind of cruel do you mean here, Geen?"

"Screee… Screee… Screee…."

"Kill? Sadistic?"

Nathan's heartbeat instantly pumped faster. "Are Marco and Zander really assassins?"

"Screee… Screee… Screee…"

"Help?"

"Master Nathan," Luna called. "You don't have to worry about Geen. It really is under your command now. Just like how Fang would follow and obey your orders."

Nathan nodded slowly. "I really miss Fang. Hopefully, he'll be back soon."

He then smiled at Geen. "Okay, Geen. Welcome to our little family. I hope we can help each other. And I also hope to help your old master."

Nathan smiled. At least there was hope for him. He had to fight. The obstacle he was facing was only the opening of many obstacles he would face in the future.
