Chapter 75: Finishing First Task
Although Wang Min's intention was good towards her but he seemed to be agreeing with his venomous teammate as he didn't stop Meng Bao from calling her sister a monster.
The Crimson-haired beauty was only examining and taking the test of his heart which he failed but on the other hand, Yue Yan's respect in her maiden's heart soared to a higher level.
"If you want to eat more you can ask me, I have enough food." Yue Yan offered her as they walked out of the village's gate.
"No, I am not hungry. I was just checking something to find my answers." The girl mumbled with a cheerful tone.
"So did you get your answer?" He asked with a faint smile.
The girl halted her steps as she turned around to look into his azure eyes.
"I surely have found my answers." A smile was radiating on her adorable face as she spoke, and her eyes flickered with a mysterious glint.
Bing'er asked with a puzzled face, "What answer?"
"That I won't tell any one of you." Her delighted voice sounded as she turned back to continue walking.
Yue Yan and Bing'er followed her and didn't question her anything, they were both glad that the crimson-haired beauty was happy and had a smile decorating her lovable face.
For the next three days, Yue Yan, Ling'er, and Bing'er made repeated trips into the forest, hunting blood-devouring rabbits and collecting their beast cores before carrying them back into the village.
Each time, they rode the golden lion into the heart of the forest, using the guardian shield to protect themselves from the blood-devouring rabbit that they specially hunted.
Yue Yan made sure to avoid other types of beasts as he had the map to locate the easiest beast for the mission.
With Ling'er's sword skills which were boosted by her two-horned mad tyrant spirit and the power of the guardian shield, they made the quick progression to their quest with each beast they encountered.
And with every core, they collected the Shangguan Sisters were delighted as this was going to be helpful in their virtuous task to solve the villager's ration problem for the next three months.
In the end, they made their final trip back to the village on the third day, they were exhausted but elated.
They had hunted twenty-one blood-devouring rabbits, and their collection of beast cores hit twelve during their four days of hunting.
The trio didn't notice any students in the village as most of them hadn't returned back.
Ling'er was standing in front of the warehouse, submitting the Blood-devouring bodies to Dong Ju.
He was smiling ear to ear as these beast bodies were going to be helpful to the villagers even if this was just a sly plan fabricated by the tianhai academy to examine and forge their students.
"Hehe... You three kids are exceptional among all I have met in my life. You have successfully completed your mission." The middle-aged man praised them as an amiable smile was flashing on his face.
"Thanks, Senior. If there is any other task that you need help with you can tell us." Ling'er said, thinking of offering further aid to the poor villagers.
"That... I'm ashamed to ask you but Actually, but it seems other students may not be able to finish the task before the deadline.
So I was thinking if you guys can continue hunting for our incapable people. We will truly be grateful for your effort." Dong Ju asked sincerely as he thought to take more favor from these kids who were able to bring a lot of beasts' bodies in healthy and fresh condition.
He didn't understand how they did it but he was shamelessly gonna ask for more favor and accept if they agreed to help the village.
"Okay, senior. We will try our best but I hope you would give us fair reputation points for our earnest efforts." Ling'er didn't expect him to ask for more villagers' ration but she didn't back away from responsibility and agreed to his demands.
Bing'er was also happier that they were going to lessen the villagers' burden more as they accepted the task to continue with the current mission to provide more rations.
Yue Yan sighed inwardly as he saw the foolish girl to accept a mission that was unnecessary.
"Yes, I will definitely mention it to father and ask him to tell the Tianhai academy that the Shangguan Sisters team helped us the most.
We would also provide the list saying how many villagers ration you three had allotted us in the span of two weeks. So don't worry about that." Dong Ju responded he was going to justly reward them with wealthy reputation points and appreciated their thoughtful help.
The trio walked to their small room as they were done with the mission.
Yue Yan traveled to the river to bathe as there were blood stains on his body which happened because Ling'er was sitting behind him as they rode the golden Lion to the village.
After finishing his bath, he filled the two buckets with water to carry it for the girls, thinking they might also want to clean themselves.
Ten minutes later, he appeared inside the room, placing the two buckets filled with water.
The girls were ecstatic to discover a chance to clean themselves as they really wanted to take a bath.
"Thank you, Yue Yan," Ling'er said with a lively tone as she took the bucket with her sister and went to the bathroom to take a bath.
After she was done, Yue Yan helped to bring more water from the river so they could wash their clothes.
The girls were happier by his caring act as he helped them in their daily chorus.
Yue Yan's thoughtful nature and small favor every day helped him to build a better impression in both sisters' hearts and they slowly started lowering their guard toward him, accepting him as a good friend.
