Master Of Myths

Chapter 118 - A Call For Reinforcements

____________

-Soul-Slave Iānus Acquired the skill "BloodBestiary"

____________

That was the result of a three hour long thrashing that trashed the backyard into dirt piles

'BloodBestiary? I've never heard of such a skill'

There were too many skills but the ones gotten from the hundred mark thresholds were more or less similar, it was uncommon for something seemingly strange and unique to pop out

'Maybe it isn't that different'

Thinking so he checked its description to make sure

____________

BloodBestiary: Assimiliat the Bloodlines of any blood essence absorbed into the Blood Code

____________

'Hmm, interesting....It must have come about due to Subrina's interference, and partially from it's own vamperic nature no doubt, meaning good synergy exists between the two'

It was unique but not hard to understand, at least not to him who had knowledge pertaining blood after gaining his second class, shallow as it was

'Still this doesn't help with Subrina's current lack of experimenting subjects, in fact it only embezzles the need for more livestock'

"It looks withered, should I provide some of the stocked blood?"

Asked the worried maid from the side, after raising this plant comrade of hers she couldn't help but feel great pity seeing it so malnourished after a bout of painful struggling

"Let it rest and adapt to its body first, we'll get it fresh blood later on, for now let's head in and adjust your future course of studies"

He paused before further adding

"But first let me call for reinforcements"

"Reinforcements?"

The maid tilted her head to the side in confusion, one that soon morphed into curiosity as he extended his hand into the air from which tendrils of blood started to seep, twisting and twining around each other until a figure of blood rested on a pale palm

Bringing his face closer he whispered to the bird, having set the message he allowed it to take into the air with a flap of its silent wings, disappearing into the black smoke surrounding their villa

"What sort of skill was that Master?"

"The racial exclusive sort"

"So it's a human exclusive skill? Is it the type that can convey messages, if so can I learn it? I would love to keep Master update on my progress, it would also help with Iānus's problems when they crop up"

Word after word the maid talked none stop, it was clear as day she would have loved to keep on touch with him despite the long distance, sadly it was futile hope

"A True Vampire's exclusive skill"

Adding with a smiling expresoin he turned and went into the villa, leaving a bewildered and unbelieving maid next to the withered plant

....

Crack!!

Thunder tore through the sky, a trail of blinding light left in its wake before the resounding boom echoed in this empty shell of a city

Once the storm of fissuring sound passed over the soft dripping of rain took its place once more, soothing whoever shook in fear at the wrath of mother nature

"Squee squee"

One of the scaredy critters living in these fresh ruins consoled themselves with this soft dripping, uncltuching the big pointy ears of theirs to listen for any danger once more

"Squuee!"

Came a call from the back promoting the creature to turn its upside body and look a the approaching messy flyer of a comrade

"Sque squee-put!....squee...."

Indeed a messy flyer,  it thought seeing the smaller bat hit a still wall before once more flying over dejectedly

Though unsure of safety with leaving this one as the watcher the bat still left as its shift ended, flying deep into the cave where silence unusually hung

The deeper it went the quieter it became, only upon reaching the end did it come upon a soft breathing sound picked up by its sensitive ears

There, in a clean large hall nestled within the fallen high rise building, was a throne, the likes of which belonging to a king with its large mahogany frame, carved pointed arches that reach further up than they should, not as showy as the velvet red leather upholstering the seat however

Arriving before this seat the bat started to morph it's rather huge body into a similarly sized human, one of untamed hair creeping down her back with its white dye and curled endings

The woman took a knee in respect to the throne but remained silent thereafter

"Good manners, much better than your sisters, if only you really meant it..."

Came a disappointed praise from the empty throne, or rather, the one also kneeling in front of it

The woman kept silent, there was nothing she could do to change that, not when she never met this whom she was supposedly serving

A sigh came from the one at the front at this silence, then again it was just how she liked it, uneventful and quiet.....

"WATCH OUT!"

A creature if blood zoomed through the air all of a sudden, the late shout of their scout following it

"!!!"

The silent woman pounced without warning, ripping at this aggressor with her finger but to no avail, for it was faster than the winds carrying it allowing passage much to her horror

This left only the one kneeling still by the throne to fend for herself

"Oh, finally"

Her response was an open pale palm, welcoming this long awaited messenger

"My dear Master, it seems you've not forgotten me"

She pat the bird delightfully as she spoke, before her the woman, and the newly arrived other bat staring with suprised eyes

"What orders did you delegate me with this time"

She asked to which the bird chirped, or at least imitated such actions without sound, then unbound itself to form tendrils that seeped into her hand through the fingers, passing whatever it held onto this darkly dressed lady

"Hmmm, I see, hmm"

After nodding to herself the lady turned to that silent servant of hers and spoke with a smiling expresoin of her own

"Zero, it seems your finally meeting the Master of your dear mother"
