Marvel: Killing Makes You Stronger

Chapter 237: Out of Control

Chapter 237: Out of Control

The Grandmaster was still dressed in his extravagant and somewhat comical attire.

As before when hosting Thanos, he maintained his stance as the host, sitting in a chair behind the dining table, watching everyone arrive.

When Wanda and the others approached, Topaz respectfully bowed and stepped back a few paces.

Only then did the Grandmaster stand up.

With open arms and a look of enthusiasm, he began to speak, but Wanda rudely interrupted his incantation process before he could utter a word.

"Grandmaster, let's be straightforward. While we appreciate your feast, hatred cannot be resolved through food."

Wanda spoke plainly, but her tone still carried respect for the Grandmaster.

However, an enemy remains an enemy, and a simple feast could not smooth things over.

The Grandmaster did not expect Wanda to be the first to speak; he originally thought the dominant figure would be one of Thor's brothers from Asgard. But now it seemed this woman was in charge.

Still, this was not the time to dwell on it. The Grandmaster felt a slight irritation as Wanda interrupted him so bluntly.

Having lived for countless years, the Grandmaster had his own composure. Outwardly, he remained calm and kept smiling.

"Thanos and I made a deal, and I agreed to it. So, my apologies, beautiful lady, this might disappoint you."

His tone was gentlemanly but firm.

The others remained expressionless, already having anticipated this. Wanda's eyes narrowed as she looked at the old man before her. Her brother Pietro, who knew her well, recognized that his sister was already getting angry.

Wanda's tone changed slightly, "So, what do you plan to do?"

"Haha, how about this? Since you and Thanos are mortal enemies, but he made a deal with me and I like what he offered, I decided to establish a new arena outside Sakaar. In this arena, you will fight to the death."

"Only the survivors can leave the arena. What do you think?"

"Of course, there will be many spectators, and your battles will be celebrated throughout the universe. We can split the earnings from the fights fifty-fifty."

The Grandmaster said with a beaming smile.

A flash of red light appeared in Wanda's eyes as she stared at the old man. From beginning to end, the old man positioned himself as the dominant figure, appearing to negotiate amicably but actually being very self-centered and forceful.

The message was clear: either participate in his so-called championship battle, or they must leave Sakaar.

Thanos was under his protection.

In fact, whether Wanda and her companions agreed was irrelevant because from the moment they met, the Grandmaster had already decided they must participate. If Wanda and her team showed any sign of resistance, the old man would undoubtedly turn hostile.

"So you want us to be clowns for others to watch?"

"Clowns?" The Grandmaster seemed confused by the term, but from Wanda's expression and tone, he could guess its meaning. He shook his head and, still smiling, said, "This is a grand spectacle. How can the battle of the strongest be obscure?"

"You are some of the most powerful warriors in the universe. Let countless people witness your battles, let your blood and fighting spirit spread throughout the universe. Isn't that wonderful?"

As he spoke, the Grandmaster seemed to become intoxicated by his own words.

But his self-indulgence made Wanda and her companions feel disgusted. Since the Grandmaster was so adamant, they decided not to waste any more words.

Boom!

In an instant, a surge of red energy swept across the luxurious banquet hall, centered on Wanda. The maids and soldiers, including Topaz, were caught off guard and were directly blown away, disappearing before they hit the walls.

The food and utensils on the table in front of the Grandmaster were all swept away, but the Grandmaster, holding a scepter with a round jewel, tapped it lightly on the ground, creating an invisible energy barrier that blocked Wanda's chaotic magical energy.

Standing at the center of the red surge, the Grandmaster no longer wore his smiling expression but stared at Wanda, feeling her terrifying power. He furrowed his brows in disbelief.

"This is chaos magic? So, you are the current master of chaos magic? You've grown to this extent."

The Grandmaster, having lived for countless years, could naturally recognize chaos magic.

He was well aware of the origins of chaos magic, one of the most powerful forces in the universe.

Once fully developed, its potential is unimaginable.

Moreover, Wanda displayed a mysterious ability to make people disappear instantly. At that moment, even with his high-level powers, the Grandmaster could not detect any fluctuations.

This was beyond his comprehension.

Wanda's strange ability made the Grandmaster's heart sink.

He realized things were getting out of control.

The Grandmaster's plan was simple: no plan at all. Whether it was Asgard or these three youngsters presumably trained by a cosmic-level entity, the Grandmaster would normally avoid provoking them.

But he was not one to follow the rules.

Besides, he knew that as long as he didn't kill these youngsters, the chances of retaliation from their powerful backers were slim.

In his whimsical nature, he was willing to gamble on this probability.

Odin was nearly fallen, and anyone with a bit of sense wouldn't risk coming after him.

So, as long as he controlled things properly, teaching these youngsters a lesson wouldn't be an issue.

But now, Wanda's display of chaos magic made the Grandmaster suddenly realize that things were not as simple as he thought. He knew very well the value of chaos magic.

If discovered, high-level figures would either seize it or nurture it greatly.

This young woman, with her power already near the Celestial level and possessing chaos magic, not to mention her powerful backers, had been forcefully offended by his tough stance.

At the rate Wanda and her companions were growing, it wouldn't be long before the Grandmaster could be facing five Celestial level beings.

Even if he had a brother of the same level.
