Chapter 119 Bad Boy and Pure Prince
The beautiful, blond-haired woman decided to stand up. She walked to the railing, fanned her face while looking at the two young men.
"You mocked Loid for having only pretty faces as their slaves, but you also have a few," she said with a giggle.
"They're men, born in the flames of combat!" Otto hyped them up. "They're good friends as well. I am sure you can make some kind of spectacle about them."
"Good friends, huh?" The large man rubbed his belly. "What are their names?"
"Tobias Reiner and Jason Leonhardt," Otto said.
"Hmm, not good~" The large man touched his chin and shook his head. "To increase the interest of the public, they need to be seen as something more than just mortals."
'Oh, yeah, it looks like he is interested in the two!' Otto smirked. "Whatever you want, we will do."
"Hmm, I want to see them." The large man turned around and started walking away. "Bring them here. I'll do something with them."
Otto nodded and shouted towards the training yard. "Tobias Reiner and Jason Leonhardt, come to my quarters!"
"Wait, isn't that us?" Julian punched but missed Kiernan's face.
"Yeah," Kiernan smacked his fist across Julian's face.
"Then why are you still punching me?!" Julian smacked Kiernan in the groin before running back inside.
"Argh, you fuck…" Kiernan grunted in pain before running after him.
When they arrived by Otto's quarters, the guards let them inside, where they were met with a stern expression from Otto and his two guests.
They awkwardly stood still, feeling like they were mannequins in a shop window.
"Hmm…" the large man said. "My name's Luther. I am the fight organizer for the fighting pit. I might have a fight for you two."
Luther then approached the two young men and retrieved a round-shaped monocle from his breast pocket and held it up to his eye to get a closer look at them.
"Black…" He looked at Kiernan's black hair and then turned to Julian's white hair. "White…"
"Just like the yin and yang," the woman said with a giggle.
"Exactly," Luther looked at Julian with slight disapproval. "However, your red hair strands are ugly. That's a big no-no; it'll make you look like a delinquent."
"What's wrong with that?" Julian asked.
"Don't talk back to him!" Otto screamed harshly.
"That's alright, Otto," Luther said with a chuckle. "Answer to your question is simple—Jason, you will be the Pure Prince, y'see."
"Pure Prince?" Julian frowned and tilted his head in confusion.
"The nasty folk of the Pirate Kingdom like pureness," Luther said. "They will want to see you get your face smashed. However, the women want you to succeed. A perfect balance."
Julian nodded, still unsure of what exactly was expected of him.
"And you, Tobias," Luther smiled at him. "You already look perfect. You will be the bad boy. You will be the perfect villain of the duo."
"We'll be actors?" Kiernan asked.
"Correct~" Luther laughed. "I need you to act like a villain. Jason needs to act pure and kind. That's all I need from the both of you."
"We'll be giving you a spot in the Secondary Main Event," the woman said. "My name's Marilyn, by the way. The Secondary Main Event is before the Main Event, so it isn't a bad spot to be in."
'Secondary Main Event? Nice!' Otto clenched his hand into a fist. 'It has been months since I've received that honor. That's really good!'
"We haven't decided your opponents yet, but they will be 2-Star, like you two," Luther said. "Otto will handle your clothes, but I expect the clothes to look on par with your new personalities, alright?"
"I'll handle that, sir!" Otto said with a smile.
"Good, Marilyn, shall we leave?" Luther asked.
Marilyn stood up with a smile, shook her hips as she walked past the two young men, grabbed Luther's hand, and then left with a final farewell to Otto.
After they left, Otto stopped smiling and said, "You better not fuck this up. If you win your fight and make a good impression on the crowd, you will have a bright future ahead!"
"Understood, master."
"Go back to training. The next fighting pit competition will be in three days!"
…
With nights flying past and the scorching mornings passing by, the day of the fighting pit competition rolled by.
At the height of the orange sun, the crowd started to gather around the fighting pit, with spectators sitting on the balconies of nearby buildings.
The fighting pit stood in the middle of the city. It was a pit, like the name suggested, and it had a small forest inside as well as a small stream of water flowing through it.
Alongside all that, there were cameras hidden inside the trees and walls of the pit. Those sent video feeds all across the Pirate Kingdom.
The crowd had gathered on the surface ground, circling the pit, where they looked down to the pit.
At the current moment, on the balcony of the nearby Red Circle Brothel, a group of wealthy pirates was sitting and watching down towards the pit.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
They also had a good sight of a holographic screen that was hovering over the fighting pit. It was currently not showing anything, but it would also show the matches once it started.
"I see, that's where you guys were hiding."
Hearing that voice, the group of pirates looked around and immediately rolled their eyes. A couple of prostitutes were hanging from the pirate's arms, trying to pull him into their private quarters.
The pirate wasn't just handsome. He was absolutely stunning with a curly brown hair and a mischievous grin that could charm anyone he met.
"Ambrose…" the pirates rolled their eyes. Discover more content at empire
"Sorry ladies, but maybe another time," Ambrose said with a smile to the thinly clothed prostitutes, who left dispiritedly.
"Never expected to see you here," a pirate said. "You had been in the sea for the last year, hadn't you?"
"Haha!" Ambrose stole a bottle of whiskey from one of them and gulped it down. "I was getting seasick, y'see. I can barely stand straight on land, so I must be using Sea Steps, or I would fall flat on my stomach!"
What do you think?
