Chapter 175 Paul

"Better off dead? Why are they so secretive about it?" Aldric felt strange hearing that.

After all, this was death. If he himself was cornered in a position of having no more ways to survive, he might prefer to give up the secret because it was not the end while death meant no longer being able to live in the world.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"This is out of loyalty to a high-level doctrine," Sparrow replied. "I've tried a few times. People like them actually choose to blow themselves up. Normal people like us probably wouldn't understand their thoughts. According to my guess, when they receive such a legacy, it is possible that their own souls are manipulated in a special way so that they will insist on keeping that legacy from leaking to others who are not supposed to receive it."

"Even souls can be manipulated like that?" Aldric knitted his brows at that, feeling worried if he suddenly experienced that because of the desire for a special inheritance.

"We can only think that nothing is impossible in this world," Sparrow replied.

As they chatted, a middle-aged man suddenly came out of the back door of the shop. It appeared to be the door to a private room.

The middle-aged man looked like a normal person with an average height and a rather thin body.

He was wearing a black robe with the emblem of two crossed swords and he himself was actually followed by two swords floating in the air.

"Master, he is the one. His name is Paul. He's usually a bit fierce, so we mustn't look weak," Sparrow said as the man appeared.

"Okay, let's go meet him!" Aldric became impatient as he wanted to become stronger immediately.

Even if he had to fight, he was ready for the resources.

The two then entered the shop.

Although there were a few shoppers, the store was basically rather quiet. Probably because it was late and people didn't shop normally at night.

As the owner of the shop, Paul naturally looked at the guest who had just entered.

Seeing that it was an old man and a young man, he instantly knitted his brows which was probably because he recognized the old man.

Sparrow showed him a smile, a smile that was hard to tell as a smile.

"Paul!" He called his name as he approached him.

His smile became even wider.

"What's wrong?" The man asked with a wary expression.

He probably had a bad feeling from the moment he saw him.

"I wanted to talk to you, how about we go to the back for a moment," Sparrow replied casually.

Even he took a step after he said that.

He first tried to go to the back room, acting like they were very familiar. And Aldric also just followed suit.

With this kind of attitude, Paul was annoyed.

His face soured instantly.

However, he was surprisingly restrained, stepping out before Sparrow.

They were on the same level, he was naturally not afraid of him.

If Sparrow entered the back room first, it would seem like he was afraid of him.

"What do you want, Sparrow?" he asked after they entered the back room.

He looked at Aldric for a while and ignored him after sensing his aura was weaker.

"Umm..." Sparrow cleared his throat as he maintained his smile.

When asking for something he shouldn't, even he had to clear his throat first to boost bis confidence.

"Paul, I heard you got something that can increase the level of the Genesis Core," he said.

Paul's eyes instantly went cold at that.

"Sparrow!" He called out his name, clearly annoyed that his intentions were clear.

Before he could speak, Sparrow spoke first.

"Paul, listen to me first. I'm here to make you a more favorable offer. Sell that thing to me and I'll buy it with the saliva of the White Sky Bird. I'll give you enough to fulfill your spiritual energy needs."

Sparrow confidently showed his palm and all five fingers when he said that.

When he heard about the saliva of the White Sky Bird, Paul who initially looked angry narrowed his eyes.

He seemed to be somewhat interested.

"5 Billion Spiritual Energy, can you prepare it?" he asked in response.

Not everyone could fully absorb spiritual energy like Aldric. As such, they always needed more spiritual energy than their bodies required.

It was just that, 5 Billion, it was far more than what the man needed. By Sparrow's estimation, he probably only needed about 1 Billion.

Their strengths were the same and their talents were not that different either, so their needs did not differ much.

To think he was asking far above that.

He was really trying to blackmail them.

Furthermore, an item that could increase the level of the Genesis Core from Level 4 to Level 5 was at best worth an item that could provide 1 Billion Spiritual Energy that could be absorbed by all levels.

Of course, since they were the ones who wanted this trade, so they might need to increase it a little, but not by five times.

Sparrow began to glare at the man.

"Paul, I came with good intentions, don't ask for more," he said in a high tone.

"If you can't provide it, you'd better leave now," Paul replied coldly.

"You should know that I want to give it to my student," he added.

"Are you more concerned with your student's power than your own?" Sparrow replied.

He found it strange that the man refused so hard.

Perhaps him asking for 5 Billion was his way of refusing harshly.

This was a bit strange because no matter how dear one was to a disciple, one's own strength was usually always the priority. Disciple affairs could be put aside if it meant an increase in personal power.

"You don't need to mind my business," Paul replied indifferently.

"Paul!" Sparrow called his name again.

"Do you want to force me?" asked Paul before Sparrow could say anything.

"What if I force you?" Sparrow asked back.

"Paul, I came in a good way. You should realize your position. If it weren't for your ancient heritage of combining weapons with monster souls, you'd be nothing. Do you dare challenge my Torgan Tribe?" Sparrow began to threaten with the name of her tribe.

"Hmph, Sparrow, you're old, but you still act like an arrogant young master. You may be able to threaten me with your tribal name, but you need to know that my apprentice is not as simple as you think," Paul replied.

This time, Sparrow knitted her brows.

"Who is your apprentice?" He asked.

The person he called not as simple as he imagined probably had a strong background.

This kind of person would not normally be an expert disciple at Paul's level, but the latter had a legacy and it was possible he could pass it on to one of his disciples.

Therefore, it was still possible for someone with a certain background to take him on as a disciple.

"He's the youngest adopted son of Granny Satan," Paul replied casually.

Afterward, he smiled sarcastically, "do you still dare now? You should know that Granny Satan has advanced to become a Magician Emperor. Her youngest adopted son is very talented. Granny Demon takes care of him seriously."

Sparrow was naturally very surprised to hear that.

His gaze at Paul was filled with disbelief.

Granny Satan had a habit of eating the souls of infants, but other than that, she sometimes raised some infants or children who were old enough, adopting them as her adopted children. They were raised and trained to be strong and educated to be evil.

Usually, people would avoid them.

"Ho-how could you make Granny Satan's adopted son your disciple? Are you crazy? You're raising a criminal," Sparrow said.

This was the part he distrusted the most.

Paul might not be a benevolent hero, but he was no villain.

By making a demon-level criminal a disciple, he was practically helping a demon grow stronger.

"Whatever I do, it's my business," Paul replied with an indifferent expression.

At this point, Sparrow really looked worried.

He looked at Aldric, as if to ask for his opinion. Experience more tales on empire

Of course, this was a matter he needed to think about seriously.

Judging from either side, he and Sparrow didn't seem to be in a position to bully.

"Mm..." Paul suddenly showed a surprised expression.

"My disciple finally came," he said spontaneously.

"What?" Sparrow was dumbfounded to hear that, not expecting that he had arrived early.

His eyes flickered with an uncertain expression.

In the Lordless Territory, he was hardly afraid of anyone because his father was one of the strongest.

However, his father would probably beat him to death if he knew he was trying to bully the adopted son of Granny Demon.

Right now, he was somewhat curious about the man, wondering what he was like.

Since Aldric was silent, so he also chose to be silent.

He thought his master might want to see the man as well.
