Afterwards, the man removed a pair of hand gloves and wore. He then walked to the IV connected to her wrist and removed an injection and injected it into the IV. Tears trimmed down August Maijune's face as she laid helplessly.

She wanted to wake up from the dream. It was becoming real as her heart started beating fasted and she was losing her breath.

The man bent down closer to her saying ''hello, my beautiful niece. Welcome back to life. Here is a little gift from your uncle'' August Maijune struggled in the bed trying to open her eyes to no avail.

Slowly, she was drifting into a darkened silence. Her hands started shaking and her whole body followed suit. August Maijune felt her consciousness slowly leaving her and she lifted her hand trying to get to the emergency power button before giving up.

The man looked at her with a sly smile and walked out bumping into Kash. Kash opened the door and a man pushed him hard on the floor and ran out. Kash got up and thought of August Maijune and ran inside and saw August almost paralysed.

''Shit''

He pressed the emergency power button and immediately disconnected the IV as the other doctors and nurses rushed in.

OPERATION ROOM.

Liyah Myers and Leo Martins rushed to the operation room and saw Kash standing outside. ''Kash, what happened?'' Leo Martins asked.

''Someone tried to harm August Maijune. She is in the operation room with the neurosurgeon. They're performing a brain flush on her''. Kash told them.

''How did this happen? How did someone get into her room?'' Liyah Myers asked.

''I don't know. I went to check up on her and when I opened the door, the man pushed me down and ran away. I was completely unaware and I couldn't chase after him. I had to make sure August Maijune was safe first. We can check the CCTV camera later.

The doctor is already performing an emergency surgery on her for flush out the residue of the drug injected into her"

''Have you called Aaron?'' Leo Martins asked.

''He must be on the plane, his number if off''. Kash said.

''What did the man do to August, why is she still inside?'' Liyah Myers asked worriedly.

''Whoever he was, the man intended to make her brain-dead''. Kash told them.

''What?'' Leo Martins and Liyah Myers said at the same time.

''The drug he put into the IV is used for cancer patients who are in their last stage. If it were given to a normal person, it could make them brain-dead. So, the person didn't want to kill her but make her vegetative ad senile''. Liyah Myers shuddered as she heard Kash and held unto Leo Martins.

''That's terrible. Who would want August Maijune dead?'' Liyah Myers asked.

''Leo, come with me. I need to show you the CCTV recording. You can come with us, Liyah. The operation will take about 4-6 hours'' Kash told them.

''Let's go babe''. Leo Martins held Liyah Myers' hand and they walked away.

HOSPITAL SECURITY ROOM.

Leo Martins and Liyah Myers followed Kash inside and the head of security stood up when he saw them. He greeted them and showed them to the cameras saying ''boss, I apologise for what happened. The man who was supposed to guard the room suddenly had a running stomach and when to relief himself. I already checked the CCTV. Boss, as you can see the person knew exactly where the camera was and avoided them''.

The head of security pointed out some details as he spoke ''he didn't also use the elevator. He seemed to have come from the underground parking lodge and entered the hospital"

''He really knew where the cameras were and avoided them. He is not a normal killer. This man looks skilful and intelligent. He might as well be an assassin''. Leo Martins concluded.

''An assassin? Then August Maijune could have probably gone brain-dead if Kash didn't arrive early?'' Liyah Myers asked.

''Yes, that would have been the case'' Kash concluded.

''I called three of my men. They will take turns guarding the room from now onwards. Whoever he is, he definitely has someone from the inside helping him"

"Kash, I think your hospital has rats leaking out information. I won't be surprised if Lorca or Josh has a hand in this but, I will start my own investigation''. Leo Martins said as he held unto Liyah's hand.

''I will start an internal investigation and find out who it is''. Kash said as they walked out.

''No, don't act even if you find out who it is. The man will soon know he failed in his attempt. He will definitely make another move soon''. Leo Martins told them. ''I will set a trap for him. I will give Aaron a call when August is out of danger''.

THE FOLLOWING MORNING

August Maijune was moved back to the same room after the operation. Liyah Myers watched over her as she slept while Leo Martins and Kash went to Kash's office to start with their trap.

Aaron Saint opened the door to the office abruptly and asked panting for breath ''where is August Maijune? Is she alright?''

''Look at you, panting for breath. August Maijune is fine. She is asleep''. Kash told him.

''I want to see her''. Aaron Saint said.

''Off course, you want to see her, but, now is not the time. We need to talk. Sit down'' Leo Martins pulled out another chair for Aaron Saint. Aaron Saint sat down and Kash explained to him everything that happened.

After Leo Martins was able to get through to him last night. He took a return flight back without wasting time. He was worried and anxious while on the plane.

Aaron Saint listened and became angry the more he listened. Someone actually dared to harm his person? He smiled and nodded at everything Leo Martins said and they finally finished their set up.

They were now waiting for the rat to send the information off.
