Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 69 Scared from Lucas?

While Lucas, Ella, and John sat at the round table with James opposite to them.

Everyone else was standing as there was no more space. So the ones who did not sit also had the role to look around and be aware of any upcoming dangers.

They all talked as to what was going to happen and some background about each other.

Jimmy was the leader of the group and like all the others, he teleported here while he was on a shift break. The others were the same and came here at some very uncomfortable times.

Jimmy's group had a total of seven people, the Boy named Bill who had the ability to look at the other's skills. Haley who had the spatial storage skill, and Jimmy with the arm blades.

Another girl the same age as Haley whose name was Sandra, nobody told the skills she had and that gave Lucas and the others an opportunity to not tell the skills of some of their own.

There were two more men with them with names Jerry and Mike respectively. They looked in their 30s and like before, they didn't know what skills they had.

John did the introduction for the whole group and lastly, he told everyone about Lucas who gave the nod.

"Now that the cat's out of the bag, can you tell me more about your shelter something skill?" Bill from the side asked with excited eyes.

Lucas groaned inwardly and looked at John who after thinking for some time and gave the nod with a sigh.

"... The skill lets me generate a shelter that I can live in." Lucas said discreetly but Bill still looked happy enough.

"Have you already generated one?" Jimmy interjected and asked, Lucas could see the desperation in the guy's eyes but it still didn't mean that he trusted him.

"Enough about me, how about you tell us where you are living?" Lucas asked directly which got him no reaction from Jimmy other than a smile.

"You don't trust me, right? I suppose you are not wrong. But I am risking and trusting you all as it's been a while since I saw humans other than these idiots." Jimmy said and looked at the people around with a smile which only got him some nods and smiles from them.

He continued, "We live just 10 km from that direction to this dungeon... We came here after we got the whiff of this dungeon."

"10 km huh... that's pretty close. How did you get to know about this dungeon?" Lucas asked again without looking anywhere.

"Hmm... It was when we were going around looking for something vegetarian to eat. We got so much flora around but not much to eat. That's when we stumbled into this dungeon.

The rewards from the first one were pretty good so we went inside only to find that the first boss was already dead and there was a timer in the big area just like ours." He stopped and asked with a slow voice, "I suppose you were the ones that completed this one?"

Lucas didn't say anything for three seconds and Jimmy already had the answer. He didn't ask further and stayed silent for a few.

"Do you have food problems?" John asked to break the awkward silence, he wanted to make the conclusion of this sitting quick as they were sitting in a very dangerous situation.

"It has been tough, we don't find much edible fruits or plants here... the last time I ate something random, it made me poisoned for three days, not a good feeling."

"You all don't eat meat?" John already had a gist but asking was still required.

"No, we are vegetarians. It's not like we were starving out there so forcing ourselves to eat meat has not been the case." Jimmy said with a dry smile.

Now Lucas was feeling a little bad for him, he looked at John who was still in the mood to talk further.

"Look, I know you all don't trust us but don't you think it will be nice if we cooperated with each other?"

"How?" John asked with a smile, finally finding that the conclusion was near and it looked good.

"All of us came here for this dungeon and you all know how difficult it gets inside. I suppose we should go inside the dungeon as a party and complete the 2nd one, you don't know how tough it will become."

John looked at Lucas and the rest with calm, everyone had different emotions showing on their faces.

"Sorry, I can't just answer right away, we need to talk in private," John said and got up, Lucas found his cue and stood up too.

After talking about some formalities again, the groups went to the right of the dungeon and stood there to talk about all this.

"So what do you think we should do?" John asked everyone.

"Poor kids, they have been suffering for food all this time, look at their faces and you can see the weakness," Ella said with concern while still making eye contact with one of the girls who was silent all this while.

"They look fun," Sean spoke with a grin, he especially had eyes on the girls which got him a knock on the head by his mother like always. John looked at Barney who only shook his head in dismissal.

When Sarah's turn came, she seemed to be in thought and after looking at every one of Jerry's group again. She finally spoke.

"They are also humans, we all helped each other then why not others too? Numbers can always make us stronger."

John nodded in understanding as if he was positive about what she said. Finally, he moved his gaze to Lucas who was frowning which he had been doing since he met these people.

"What do you say, Lucas?"

"... I don't know, Uncle John. They look like bad news to me." Lucas said while folding his hands in a criss-cross manner.

"Lucas... don't make your decision according to how they look. If you look at them carefully, you will see that some of them are of your age and they do not seem too good in terms of survival. I know what happened was bad but we have gone past that, they even told and demonstrated the skills they have." John said and stopped letting Lucas think about all the stuff he just said.

Lucas still looked perplexed but when he looked at Jimmy's group who were also talking among each other, he now could see that just like him and the group, they also looked as much desperate to survive.

"Do you trust them, Uncle John?" Lucas asked while scratching his head.

"I can vouch for them, Lucas. Okay, do you trust me?"

Lucas found the question dumb and nodded his head the next second.

"Then let's decide quickly, we can judge them further inside the dungeon. Just like our group, they also have non-fighting main skill people. Everything will start to make sense when we get to see them in dangerous situations."

Everyone thought that it was a great plan and in the end, Lucas also agreed with testing them. Explore more at empire

After their discussion was over, Lucas and the others went back to them. They had only taken five minutes to make this big decision and Jimmy welcomed them back with a smile.

"So? Do we have a deal?" Jimmy asked.

John moved forward and offered Jimmy his hand, it was a big climb in trust as this was the first contact between them.

"Deal"

"Yeah, Deal. But I have one problem to address after talking with my people..." Jimmy said which made Lucas and John's ears perk up.

Jimmy hesitated a little and he also made eye contact with Lucas for a few seconds but he finally said it, "As I am the leader of my party, it is my responsibility to keep them safe. And I would like to directly say that we are not comfortable with him."

Jimmy said while pointing at the one person that everyone expected in the end and not at the same time.

"Me?" Lucas asked while looking at his finger pointed toward him.

"... Yeah, I don't know what I felt when I met you but it still feels chilling."

Lucas frowned and again, looked toward John who was surprisingly smiling from the response.

"You see, Lucas. They know about your skill and they still point this out. It makes me put my trust more in these guys." John said, a happy grin on his face.

When everyone was confused as to what he was rambling about, he continued, "You all and Lucas met in some bad circumstances. But I can say that he is the kindest man I have met. He's the one that is giving us accommodation right now."

'Like I need to give an explanation to these fuckers...' Lucas thought inwardly but he couldn't quite get the gist of why he was so pissed off of them.

Lucas felt a bit awkward that he had to show that he was not someone dangerous when he was the one thinking that the opposite party was not safe to be with.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
