Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 965 A floating island replica

[Eon's POV: ]

[{ "That's a nice little friend you have there, Zoe." }]

Most of us were working so not many noticed it, but a little spider had crawled into our lab.

[{ "Hehe, it's not perfect if you can sense it. But isn't this good~?" }]

If it wasn't for the distinct energy that was used in the creations of that spell, I wouldn't have noticed it either.

Not even Sir Jez noticed the spider so it was obviously a special kind of spell.

Plus, she was using Rayray's support skill to bring out the most out of her spell.

[{ "It's good, but remember… you don't have to do something similar to us. Celes' ability is different.

This is a good start, but you can do much better." }]

The special skill that her little butterfly had was very diversely applicable.

[{ "Oh, yes big brother." }]

Unlike me and Celes, or Rein and Branwen, the special skill that Rayray had allowed Zoe to do a lot more than any of us could do.

'Even just thinking about the Crystal butterflies, the two of them were a special pair.'

The Crystal Butterflies were special origin beasts, but I don't think we will find one that was as old as Rayray or had as much experience as him.

Unlike Celes who was just starting to grasp her special skill, he already had a deep understanding of what he could do.

'Even with Zoe having only two of her blockages cleared, he was able to limit his abilities to a certain extent and help us in as many ways as he possibly could.'

He was a fun guy, and it was no wonder he was with Zoe.

[{ "Alright then… what do you think of this?" }]

We were done with the framework and we will be done with the engine part as well.

All that would be left after that would be the detailing and, that was going to be the relatively easier part since we already have what we are going to add to this gigantic piece of artificial land.

[{ "It's… amazing." }]

Her mom was the best Creator I've ever known. And inheriting her talents and curiosity, Zoe was becoming an amazing creator herself.

'She understood the process of creation itself. And, she was becoming so good with her craft that even the grandmaster teachers of the academy were taking extra interest in her.'

She was doing good on her own, plus she could see the essence of things. Something that was different from the truth that Rein could see.

[{ "I understand why you decided to make it so big, and I see how you used the wood of the trees that grow on this island, why you chose to use the materials of places around the island, and why you chose this particular engine type over the other better ones." }]

The frame of the island was almost two thirds the height of this lab.

Made from wood and concrete, metal and rocks, this frame was sturdy enough to have been elevated off the ground during the unique natural phenomenon.

'We made it light enough so that it could be lifted off the ground with a special engine which was going to produce a powerful (Telekinesis) spell instead of an anti-gravity spell or a floating spell, or even a levitation spell.'

[{ "I knew you would find it interesting." }]

According to what we knew, it was a natural phenomenon that this particular piece of land was lifted off the ground and if not for those Divine beasts' interest in this floating piece of earth, it would have crashed to the ground and destroyed the entire planet.

[{ "Hehe, it's just fascinating~. I know everyone will be surprised to see this…" }]

But that didn't happen, and they prevented it from ever happening in the future with the actual core that was built in the centre part of the island.

"Lucifer, are we going to activate this thing anytime soon?"

"In five minutes, yes. Let's rest a little, yeah?"

We were done with the engine so we will start it soon, and see how it works with the frame. And then test it with an estimated added mass to check if it will be able to handle the final model.

"Alright, we will be waiting till then."

"Sure."

Everyone was tired after working.

Rein and the others in her group were working on the inner parts since they were mages so they were the most tired at the moment, and since the rest of us were helping Sir Jez with the outer body of the engine, we were relatively in a better condition.

Still, taking a break before we start the engine was a good idea.

'Though, from the look everyone had, it didn't seem like they were interested in resting or anything.'

The big engine looked like something freshly out of a futuristic movie, or something one would only see in the cities of the dwarves.

A giant heart shaped piece made of a Mithril alloy covered completely in magic circles and enchantments as well as runes that Sir Jez drew himself.

'They weren't the original runes, but something of the [True tongue] that vampires use.'

It was much more effective than the usual magic that us students could use, or even better than the dwarven magic or elven magic.

Perhaps the original fairy magic could be a match for this particular rune category, but engraving something like that on simple Mithril would need better enchantment mastery than what Sir Jez had.

[{ "Lizzy's stunned as well, you know?" }]

[{ "Liz is there?" }]

[{ "Yei~. We are spying on everyone's projects~." }]

I knew she was bored at home and was playing in the academy, but I didn't know Liz was with her as well.

Not that it matters that they knew what we were making, everyone is going to see this in a week anyway.

[{ "Be careful, girls. You're not allowed to do this… if any teacher or vice headmaster notices you, you will be in trouble." }]

[{ "I know that! But don't worry~. I will be very careful with this~." }]

She would obviously be careful with this, I know that, so I was more worried about Liz.

With her present there, spying on the other classes might not be the best thing to do in the front garden… unless she was doing it purposefully and wanted to get caught, she would be careful how much Liz sees.

Punishment for it wouldn't be severe, she knew that already, but both of them would still be punished.

And I don't think Liz would want that.

[{ "Haaa…" }]

But Zoe was a different matter.

[{ "Be careful with whatever you're planning." }]

Getting close to Liz was one of her tasks, and making special memories with her would help her greatly.

'However, I wouldn't suggest getting punished together.'

There might be some unforeseen problems with that kind of thing, so I wouldn't advise something like that to her.

But, well…

[{ "Yes~. I'll be careful~." }]

I trust her.

She's smart enough to create a spell as advanced as this one, so she should be smart enough to understand what's right and what's not.

[{ "Alright then, Zoe. I'll be going back to work." }]

[{ "Yessss~. Have fun~." }]

The work for today will be done when we confirm the engine is working well.

"Alright then, shall we go and see if it works?"

[{ Yes~! Let's go~. }]

Celes was working hard tracking and observing all the cult members everyday, and she's still as cheerful as ever.

'Cutie.'

Everyone was now accustomed to working in this lab.

There were now some comfortable chairs here for students, and a side was dedicated to refreshments.

Some students worked outside as well since there was a lot of woodwork and similar hard work.

We were already near the outskirts of the island, so gathering materials for the island was an easy task for us.

"Sir Jez."

I was on the other side working on a certain part of the island, Uriel was with the mage students, and Alpha was making some last remaining components of the engine which were now attached to the final model.

"Oh, Lucifer. I assume the ignition system is complete as well?"

"Yes sir."

All the components of the engine were completed. It was assembled and placed inside the large frame that almost seemed like the replica of the island.

There were various levels to the engine's output and when we start it, it should at least float a few metres above.

'The weight of the final parts will make the base output insufficient and we will have to push it to the next stage.'

There shouldn't be any problems with it from what we've calculated, and with Sir Jez here, we should be fine even if something does go wrong.

"Alright then. Let's boot the engine up."

He gathered all the students up, looked at us with an excited smile on his face, looked at the people that had helped out the most like he usually does, and then, he turned towards the big project that all of us had made with hours and days of hard work.

"Huuu… I'm nervous."

Rein was sure this would be fine, she could see no problems with anything present here.

Yet, just like the other students, she was unsure about how this would turn out.

"It's going to work, Miss Uriel. I know it will."

But on the other hand, captain Alpha was sure this would go well.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

For some reason, he seemed confident about this, as if he knew this unconventional design would work for sure.

"Alright…"

-Snap.

His confidence in this engine was peculiar, but that was a matter only for me.

The rest of the class felt a little relieved with his confident comment.

-Ooooooooooooong!

Everyone was holding their friends' hands, some were nervous while some were afraid of something going wrong.

But, as Sir Jez activated the device after covering us in a barrier, and… as he heart shaped engine started its vortex, spells were activated.

"Well, students…"

There was no environmental change, the Mana and spell power was concentrated on the device and connected frame only.

"Seems like we did it."

The telekinesis spell took effect soon, and as we all saw, the entire engine along with the heavy frame started floating upwards…

"Good work, everyone."

After working on this for all this time nonstop… the joy many of us felt at the moment was something I knew very well about.

I had felt it many times at the end of my own projects as well, but…

"It's pretty."

"And sturdy."

Feeling something like this along with so many people was a first even for us.

'Truthfully, this was a completely different experience than any similar we have had until now.'

And, it was exciting.
