Chapter 926 On the second day of the presentation
[Eon's POV: ]
[{ "The hell was wrong with all of them…" }]
[{ "Who told them which room is ours anyway? Did they collectively reveal their rooms to figure it out or did they just go and check all the rooms?" }]
[{ "Forget that… why would they disturb us when they know we are not going to talk about anything? For goodness' sake they are leaders and high authorities!" }]
I handed her a cup of coffee as we entered the hall once again after only six hours of break.
'It was collectively decided that taking a long break was not needed and that our presentation was much more important than good rest so most of us just went back to the rooms.'
We left the equipment under the security of the organisers so they could not approach them even though those things were right there.
All that they could do was to observe those things from far and, some actually did just that.
'They stayed behind and observed the things, while the rest who 'went back' to their rooms somehow figured out which room was ours and kept knocking on our doors to ask the questions that they could not when the conference was ongoing.'
They had a loooooot of questions so they wanted to ask us a lot of things as well, just that WE DID NOT WANT TO ENTERTAIN THEM!
We kept saying we could not answer any of their questions until the conference started again. We even went as far as shouting at them by coming out of our room!
'They must already know the kind of pressure that we were under and yet, if they were still persistent with their dumbness, we were lost for words.'
We needed rest so we just went to bed after putting up a few barriers.
'Thankfully, by the time it was time for the conference to begin again, they were not crowding outside our room anymore.'
We did not get as much sleep as we needed, but we still got some rest.
And since there was no time to waste, we were now having our morning coffee on the stage as we booted the whole system back.
'Taking the short break and cutting on unnecessary rest was an unforeseen move by these people… even from my perspective, the fact that they would willingly cut back on their rest just so we could continue the conference was quite surprising.'
Most of them were superhumans who were much more familiar with sleepless continuous work, so they were going to be fine even with only a few microsleep breaks.
And we can surely do that as well… but we were the one presenting this whole damn presentation.
'They did not understand how much stamina and concentration it took for me to show the kind of things that they were seeing, they did not even know how Rein was constantly using her Mana in the process of maintaining the rest of the things.' Read latest stories on empire
The tech that we were using was new and unique, but it was not easy to use it.
Even the two of us had to train for long hours to master these things.
And, the presentation we were presenting to all of them was revised tens of times by us!
We weren't doing anything just because we wanted to or because it was right!
"Do you want more?"
"Nah. this is good enough."
I made the coffee for the rest of them as well, specifically the way they liked it.
And those who did not drink coffee, I made them the things that they had- or something they would like- from the knowledge we had of them from my investigation or from Rein's eyes.
There were a lot of people here but since I had highly trained helping hands here, things did not take that long.
We were almost done with the drinks as well, and since everyone was back, it was time to begin the second day…
{ "If everyone is ready, we should start in six minutes." }
These bastards… I know I'm not supposed to curse at them, but when they could not reach out to us, they went after mom and others hoping they would get some answers from them at least.
'Sadly, our family members weren't as good as the two of us.'
They outright cursed at them for disturbing them, beat some of them up, and threatened them in various ways.
Rein's father even went as far as saying he would never come to any of their nations for any kind of performance and even cut all ties with their states.
'It was genuinely inappropriate to disturb someone over something even they don't understand much about.'
We were the only ones who had the answers that they needed, and we would only answer those questions when we were on this stage.
Persistence was only going to make their chances to get a satisfactory answer smaller.
[{ "I can't believe I was anxious about these people. Fuck." }]
Rein genuinely did not understand their child-like behaviour.
They were all high and mighty, sophisticated royals and nobles, masters and grandmasters of their fields in the hall. But later, they all just became like any other human being that was curious and wanted answers even at the cost of their image.
They did not even care about their peers as they knocked on our door… like damn. That was some next level Victorian improper conduct.
{ "Please note that under the lack of time and the great many topics of the presentation still left, we will only take questions about the previous day during the first one hour of the current day before moving on to the ongoing topic." }
This one warning and information caused a wave of shock and surprise. But, before they started shouting anything, I tapped on the headband twice and a unique transparent screen that would only be visible to them appeared before the rest of them.
{ "This is the question window. You just have to think about the questions you want to ask and it will appear on the screen.
Sending the question will send the question to me, and I will send the answers to those questions from my side." }
We had already expected some of the questions and recorded their answers so this method was going to be more effective than entertaining their questions individually.
{ "As you might already have figured out, no one aside from you could see the questions that you are sending, however, since this is the grand conference, if you want, you can make your questions public and these public question will appear in the second screen that you can bring up by focusing on the small star icon at the right bottom of the screen." }
Mass producing each one of those headbands took a lot of time and resources.
In the Empire's terms, just the cost of materials for making these headgears was around a thousand and fifty platinum coins.
The Assembly, preparations, connections, enchantment, and reinforcing these things took three days when doing it all by hands.
'But, we did not nearly have that much time to make all these in such a short time, so we invented new artifacts that could help in the mass production of these things.'
The headmaster looked after this project since we were busy with the midterms and our own training so, a big thanks to him for all his hard work.
{ "There are some questions already answered pinned in the public sections so if your questions are matching with them, you will get a suggestion while writing the question, so, please refer to them before sending it to me." }
They all must already be trying out what I was saying and even exploring more of the things these headgears can do on their own.
'These little things were unique and amazing tech, actually.'
Not only could one access a lot of data like what one was able to on the Net and search stuff, they could also access Maginet with these things.
They could access the general information about the various countries, news about certain local places, and even play games that were famous on Maginet.
'Practically, these things were a portable and more simplified maginet, an enhanced form of it even.'
It was one of my personal creations and one of my masterpieces that was already officially under my name.
Not many people knew about it since it was the highest, most confidential information that only Six people in the entire world aside from Rein, Zoe, and I knew about.
So, if they want to know anything about these unique head gears, officially, only Rein and I could talk about it openly.
{ "There is still three minutes left before we start so feel free to prepare your questions." }
They were smart people.
The Creators of all fields present, be it magic engineers, Mages, blacksmiths, enchanters, or even normal people who work in artistic fields were going to find this one simple object mindblowing.
Even knights and those who work with documents on daily bases were going to find the true value of these objects after this.
[{ "Look at them, haaa… they are acting like young children who had just obtained a new fun toy." }]
They were hiding it well as they were in the conference hall now, but since she could see the true underlying emotions and feelings of others, she knew just how excited these people were.
[{ "This is sickening…" }]
[{ "It's fine, Rein. They do care." }]
The topic that we were presenting right now was so serious that they should not even have a flicker of a smile on their faces right now. And yet, they were excited after seeing a simple piece of tech.
'She did not like their behaviour a while back, and she did not like their behaviour right now.'
I can tell how Sad she was seeing this sight since I could tell what she might be seeing right now, so her Sadness was understandable.
We… I had prepared a lot just so they could get a clear picture of what they, this world was dealing with.
And if they start ignoring all that and play with a new 'toy' then the person closest to the creator of these toys was obviously not going to feel happiness, or even anger at this fact matter.
She was sad.
And perhaps a little disappointed as well…
