Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 557 Fourth floor

Rain wondered if that was one hundred percent true… The usual Seadrei wasn't that stubborn and he was the type who accepted things as they are. Even if he got the vigor of his youth, he didn't forget his experiences and he should be able to see things from a more clear perspective.

If the path changed his body that much, Rain couldn't help but frown a bit… and consider some things from the past. From the very beginning, he knew that it was odd for him and everyone to be able to use some techniques just by unlocking new paths and skills. Still, if that was possible, it made sense that one's body could be improved that much. Perhaps even down to a cellular level.

In any case, at least Rain confirmed that he could improve his body by mastering a path completely… it would be hard, but each time he does that, he will gain a lot… Rain couldn't help but wonder if he will become as reckless or as arrogant as Seadrei when that happens. He wanted to keep his cool at all times, after all.

Once they returned home that day, when it was time for dinner, Rain informed Terra that things didn't go well about the negotiation. Still, she was only surprised because Rain wasn't punched, considering his actions and words. It was kind of disrespectful to the sea emperor… no human would be able to talk like that with Seadrei without suffering the consequences of it.

"Well, what now?" Terra asked.

"I learned my lesson, I can't put all my apples in a single basket since now I don't know what to do," Rain shrugged. "I will try to come up with a better plan."

Rain had many responsibilities, and he had to consider each one of them when he thought about the solution for that mess. After having dinner with his family and then going to bed, he failed to think of anything even though he thought for the rest of the night… Thanks to that, when morning came, he couldn't help but sigh.

In any case, he still had some time, perhaps one month to think of a plan… after that, he won't have any other option but to wait for Seara's childbirth.

While Rain was training the recruits and thinking about that, he soon felt one presence approaching from underground, and soon he found Seadir coming from the underground tunnel.

"I hope that you aren't busy," Seadir said. "I heard that you talked with Father yesterday and since then, he has been in a terrible mood. I can't remember he shouted at one of his generals."

"He must have an unbalance of hormones since he is getting old, don't worry about it," Rain said.

"He is getting younger, at least in appearance," Seadir said. "I heard that Seara was there as well, and I can't imagine her liking this kind of conversation."

Rain sighed and in the end talked with Seadir about what had happened… he wanted to move on with his life already, but Seadir deserved to hear the whole story in order to avoid possible landmines when dealing with his father. The old man was so powerful that it wouldn't be weird to think of him as a walking disaster.

"I see… I can understand the situation now," Seadir said while nodding. "Now you can understand more or less how he is daily. Until now, he listened to you a lot, but that is how he acts when he cares about something."

"Like no one else's opinions aside from his matter?" Rain asked.

"More or less," Seadir shrugged. "Do you have another plan?"

"Not yet," Rain replied while feeling his head throbbing.

Maybe Rain should try to learn Teleport now… Impulse was as useful as ever, but he would need something even more powerful to reach the enemy's territory and leave before being noticed.

"Anyway, it would be good if you could make up with father, it would be too sad if his first grandchild were to be born when he is getting along with the father of the child," Seadir said.

Rain rolled his eyes… the issue wasn't that he didn't want that, but the fact that Seadrei was arrogant enough to think that he could protect Seara no matter what… Rain didn't see his strength was absolute and while he couldn't win against him in a direct fight, Rain could think of a few methods that would increase his chances drastically.

Seadrei was naive enough to think that all of his enemies will fight fair and square against him… Rain knew better than to think of such a thing.

Speaking of which, Rain recalled that he had to think of a name for his new child… he also heard that the sea emperor was the one who usually gives the name of the kids with royal blood, but Rain didn't feel like giving the guy that right now… still, refusing that would only cause more problems than help.

"Shit, I am not on my right side today…" Rain thought while rubbing his eyes.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Rain wanted to stay calm no matter what… letting the situation get the better of him wouldn't help in any moment. He had to consider all options with a clear head…

While Rain was thinking about that, the weeks passed, and not only was he mad at himself for being unable to think of a solution, but he also had to worry about the news about the dungeons… the fourth floor appeared, and they were completely different from the other ones…

"Still no bosses, guardians or dungeon cores, buh?" Rain thought and then tossed away the report after he heard it.

Aside from the new floor, things in that area were difficult. In one of them, the floor was completely hot, and the stalactites were burning, and the other two things were cold and covered in a thin layer of ice…

The other two looked normal, but in some spots, there were a bunch of traps…
