Chapter 70 Five Member Complete!
Lydia sighed, rubbing her temples. "So that's why we've brought too many bags of materials. The guards even thought we were merchants trying to sell them and insisted we register at the city hall for a certification to sell." Read latest chapters at empire
Horizon only nodded. He had hauled in bags upon bags of supplies, along with his herbalist tools and kits, all because Von had mentioned Eldrasil's extensive crafting and forging area. "Better to be overprepared than under, right?"
"If that's the case, we should get ourselves settled first," Von suggested.
"They've got inns for players with free food and lodging!" Lydia said, her eyes lighting up. "Let's head to registration and get our badges so we can access them."
The group made their way to the main plaza, where registration for the competition was taking place. The sheer number of players, guilds, and Eternian competitors made the city hall overflow with activity.
Standing in line, Horizon glanced around, trying to spot any familiar faces, maybe even Travis and Trisha. But with the mass of people swarming the area, it felt like searching for a needle in a haystack.
"It's just the four of you?" an elven representative asked, eyeing the group with suspicion. "You're missing a member."
Lydia stepped forward with her hands clasped in a pleading gesture. "Yes, we know, but can you make an exception? We're still looking for our last member."
The elf sighed, massaging her temples. "I can't do that. Don't you know how many spectators try to sneak in, pretending to be competitors just to get the free inns and food?"
Horizon and the others exchanged glances. Lydia's hopeful smile faltered.
"I'm sorry," the elf said firmly, "but without a complete group of five, I can't give you a badge or register you for the competition."
In the end, they were kicked out of the line, forced to watch as more prepared teams passed them by, fully outfitted in gleaming iron and silver equipment. It felt like they were beggars left out in the cold.
"We should probably focus on finding our last member first," Von suggested, looking around. "How hard could it be?"
The group scanned the plaza, but most players were already in teams, and the few who weren't were likely spectators. Finding someone with a 500-stat range was nearly impossible, as it was the mark of a leader.
Just then, a deep sigh echoed beside them, followed by a cold gust of air that sent a chill down their spines. Horizon and the others turned and found themselves staring at a massive Frost Giant, sitting casually on the ground.
"Whoa . . . a Frost Giant? They're still around?" Lydia's voice quivered in awe.
Horizon's eyes widened. Despite the number of creatures and races passing through Eldrasil, this giant's towering presence and icy form made him impossible to ignore.
"It's rare, but you'll still see a few around here," Von explained. "This forest was once their homeland, but something happened, and they were nearly wiped out."
"So big . . ." Silphie muttered, shivering slightly, though her expression remained stoic. "And so cold . . ."
Noticing the group, the Frost Giant's face lit up, his gloomy expression replaced with a wide, toothy grin. "Hello there, friends! The name's Frigid!"
"Geh . . ." Lydia took a step back, startled. "Y-you . . .
you're Frigid?"
"Do you know him?" Horizon asked, curious.
Lydia hesitated, glancing at the giant. "Well . . . I've heard stories. Every competition has a Frost Giant who tries to compete but can't find a group.
Wait, how do you two not know this already?"
But Horizon and Von weren't fazed—they were thrilled. They rushed forward, bombarding Frigid with questions.
"You're looking for a group?"
"What's your stat range?"
"Uh . . . guys, I don't really think—" Lydia started, but her words trailed off as Frigid's grin widened even further. His mouth stretched so wide it could practically swallow their head.
"Really? You're going to let me join?"
Horizon nodded, still enthusiastic. "Depends on your stats."
Without hesitation, Frigid shared his stat with everyone. Horizon and Von's excitement faltered as they took in the numbers.

Lydia let out a long, exasperated sigh. "I told you, this giant only pumps his HP and CONS. No one wants him in their party because he throws the whole stat balance off."
Frigid, the frost giant, had an impressive 500 points in CONS and 50 000 in HP, but that was where the praise ended. His STR wasn't even remarkable for his size, his INT was practically non-existent, and his DEX—well, let's just say Frigid was painfully slow. In a group, he'd be more of a liability than an asset.
