Chapter 1083: Ghosts and Spirits Will Bow Upon Seeing Me
Ye Guan brought Yang Yian to the teleportation hub.
There were hundreds of thousands of teleportation arrays here, allowing travel to all parts of the Guanxuan Universe.
However, travel to other universe regions required special approval. The restriction was put in place for safety reasons, as the civilizations outside the Guanxuan Universe Region were still too dangerous for many of its inhabitants.
After paying ten spiritual crystals, the two were led to a teleportation array. However, they had to queue, as many people were heading to the Qingzhou Sword Sect as well.
While waiting, Yang Yian took out the book that Ye Guan had given to her and began reading it.
Ye Guan was sure that the girl genuinely loved reading, but he was unsure about her aptitude for cultivation.
Little Pagoda suddenly asked, "Are you really taking her to the Qingzhou Sword Sect?"
Ye Guan nodded.
Little Pagoda spoke solemnly, "You should think this through. You can barely protect yourself, after all."
Ye Guan glanced at Yang Yian, who was engrossed in her book, and smiled before replying, "Master Pagoda, what will happen to her if we leave her behind?"
"Stealing and robbing are illegal, so she will eventually get caught," Little Pagoda replied.
"That's right." Ye Guan nodded. "At first, I had no plans of taking her. Bringing her along would indeed be inconvenient for me, but then I realized that if I left her to fend for herself, she'd get caught one day."
Ye Guan took a moment to stare at Yang Yian beside him before continuing, "If I can't even change her fate, how can I ever hope to change the Guanxuan Universe?"
Little Pagoda was quiet for a long time.
"You've changed a lot," Little Pagoda remarked.
Ye Guan smiled. "How so?"
"You used to focus only on the distant future. Now, you've learned to focus on what's right in front of you."
"That's grossly underestimating it, Master Pagoda," Ye Guan said, smiling faintly. "I used to claim that I'd rely only on myself. Every time there was a crisis, however, my family would always resolve the issue for me.
"Had it not been for my father and aunt, many top factions wouldn't have allied themselves with me. The academy wouldn't have grown so quickly as well."
"Haha." Ye Guan laughed self-deprecatingly and added, "I once declared that I don't want to rely on my family to such an extent, but it turns out that I've been the King of Relying on Others all along. I just didn't want to admit it."
"You've made a surprising decision by doing all this," Little Pagoda said, "But I must remind you—this path isn't as smooth as you think it is. You better have a plan, or I doubt you'll even make it to the Main Academy, given its corruption."
Ye Guan nodded. "Don't worry, Master Pagoda. I won't act recklessly. After all, I've become just an ordinary person. If I go too far, I might not even reach the Main Academy before they end up killing me."
The forces he had once subdued would submit to Ye Guan, but they would never submit to Ye Yang. Thus, Ye Guan decided to take his journey slow this time.
Just then, Yang Yian tugged on his sleeve. "It's our turn."
Ye Guan smiled and said, "Let's go."
With that, he led Yang Yian into the teleportation array. Once inside, he noticed that Yang Yian looked extremely nervous, and her face had become as pale as a sheet of paper as well.
Ye Guan smiled at that and asked, "First time?"
Yang Yian nodded, visibly uneasy.
Ye Guan smiled and held her small hand. "Don't worry, it's safe."
Yang Yian trembled slightly. She glanced at him and saw his warm smile. Beneath Ye Guan's gentle gaze, Yang Yian tightened her grip on the former's hand and felt that she had become much braver than ever.

The Qingzhou Sword Sect was located in the Qingzhou Mountains.
The Qingzhou Mountains was the largest mountain range in Qingzhou. Stretching thousands of miles, it was shrouded in clouds and mist year-round, making it resemble a paradise. The swordsmen of Qingzhou all longed to visit the mountain range one day.
The Qingzhou Sword Sect was a branch of the Sword Sect. The Sword Sect had many branches, and their goal was to recruit and nurture talented swordsmen.
The Sword Sect had produced many unparalleled prodigies over the years, and it was the most formidable sect in the Guanxuan Universe Region.
Ye Guan and Yang Yian emerged from a teleportation array. They looked around and found themselves inside a small city. The city had many teleportation arrays, and people continuously stepped out of them, making the city look lively.
They were in Qingyun City—a city at the bottom of the Sword Sect's mountain.
Once a desolate place, the Sword Sect chose this location as their base, allowing it to flourish. The residents made fortunes due to the sudden influx of customers.
The city wasn't large, but it was a decent city. It also served as a meeting point for the Sword Sect disciples, whose families weren't allowed to walk into the sect. Thus, it was common to see young swordsmen here.
Ye Guan and Yang Yian went to a horse shop. The journey from the city to the Sword Sect would take at least ten days on foot but only two days on horseback.
The horse shop was decorated grandly, and it screamed "luxury" that was far beyond the other shops.
A shop assistant glanced at them and asked, "Buying a horse?"
Ye Guan nodded. "Yes."
"We have five types of horses—Inferior Horses, Superior Horses, Spirit Horses, Flame Horses, and Sky Horses."
Curious, Ye Guan asked, "Sky Horses?"
"Spirit Horses, Flame Horses, and Sky Horses all have their respective ranks. Spirit Horses are Spiritual-rank horses, the Flame Horses are King-rank horses, while the Sky Horses are, of course, Sky-rank horses."
Ye Guan was astonished to hear that. A Sky-rank horse was equivalent to a Heaven Law Realm cultivator.
The shop assistant glanced at the pair and asked, "What horse do you want?"
Ye Guan came back to his senses and smiled. "An Inferior horse."
The shop assistant wasn't surprised. Ye Guan and Yang Yian's clothes told him that they were penniless.
The shop assistant said, "Two spiritual crystals, please."
"What?!" Ye Guan's eyes widened. "Two spiritual crystals? Isn't it fifty silver coins?"
Ye Guan heard in Qingzhou that an Inferior horse was worth fifty silver coins.
The shop assistant replied indifferently, "Since you've seen a horse being sold for fifty silver coins, then why did you even come here?"
Ye Guan's face darkened. "This is daylight robbery."
The shop assistant frowned slightly. "I think you're just poor."
Ye Guan had no idea what to say. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Waving his hand impatiently, the shop assistant said, "If you're not buying, then leave. Don't waste my time."
Ye Guan fell silent.
Two spiritual crystals were all he had left. If he spent them on a horse, what would they eat later? In the end, he bought the horse, as he had no choice but to do so.
They would waste too much time if they walked their way to the Sword Sect.
We can just eat the horse once we get there, Ye Guan mused, justifying his purchase.
The horse had no idea what to say.
With that, Ye Guan handed over his last remaining two spiritual crystals and led a brown horse out of the stable. As soon as he walked out, he cursed, "This is really outrageous! This is daylight robbery! Heartless, immoral, and shameless!"
"Hey," an elderly man said, looking at Ye Guan. "Watch your mouth, young man."
Still furious, Ye Guan retorted, "Elder, isn't this ridiculous? Charging two spiritual crystals for a single horse? Can you believe it? They're utterly shameless and immoral to the core! Are they not afraid of divine retribution? It's just too much! This is complete and utter bullying!"
"I said, watch your mouth!" the elder hastily exclaimed, " This stable belongs to the Immortal Treasures Pavilion, and its owner is none other than the Academy Master!"
Ye Guan and Little Pagoda were silent.
The black-hearted store owners here were actually a part of his faction!
Ye Guan walked away with his left hand holding Yang Yian and his right hand leading the horse.
"That was really outrageous..." Yang Yian muttered indignantly. "I've never seen someone so shameless before."
Ye Guan quickly interjected, "Let it go; forgive them."
Little Pagoda was speechless. He had been planning on buying some food to eat, but now, he couldn't even afford cookie crumbs.
As for their safety, Ye Guan wasn't worried at all. After all, they were within the territory of the Sword Sect. Who would dare to cause trouble here?
Leaving the city, the two of them rode on horseback and headed toward the Sword Sect.
Meanwhile, Ye Guan was still holding classes for Yang Yian.
Skipping breakfast? Manageable.
Skipping lunch? Still bearable.
Skipping dinner? Their stomachs finally growled.
Ye Guan glanced at the horse beneath him, but he ultimately resisted the thought of slaughtering it for food.
"Look at that!" Yang Yian pointed into the distance. "Over there!"
Ye Guan looked up and saw an old, dilapidated mansion. Its state of disrepair suggested that it had been abandoned a long time ago.
It was already night, so Ye Guan said, "Let's just spend the night there."
With that, he rode the horse toward the mansion. Upon closer inspection, the mansion was truly abandoned; there were cobwebs and weeds everywhere.
The mansion was even more eerie beneath the faint moonlight.
Yang Yian was terrified, and she clung to Ye Guan's arm.
Ye Guan chuckled at that and asked, "Afraid of ghosts?"
Yang Yian nodded. She wasn't a cultivator, so she was truly afraid of ghosts and spirits.
"Don't worry," Ye Guan said, smiling gently. "In the Guanxuan Universe, all ghosts and spirits will bow upon seeing me."
What do you think?
