Chapter 93 The Mysterious Solo Player

Viora frowned. "That fruit… Could it be the Fruit of Sin?"

"It must be," Torin said. "It's what everyone is after."

Drask pointed to another part of the mural. "Look, there. The Swordking's commanders… they're kneeling in front of him. Swearing loyalty even after everything fell apart."

August narrowed his eyes. "That explains why we've been fighting corrupted commanders every ten floors. They followed him into the abyss."

Aria nodded. "And we'll likely face more the deeper we go."

The group continued their descent, battling fierce beasts that grew stronger with each passing floor. On the 91st floor alone, they encountered mutated wolves with obsidian fur and glowing red eyes, shadowy wraiths that drained health on contact, and towering stone golems immune to physical attacks.

[ System Notification: Shadow Wraith (Level 36) defeated. 18,000 EXP gained. ]

[ System Notification: Stone Golem (Level 38) defeated. 25,000 EXP gained. ]

With each fight, they grew more exhausted, but the loot and experience were worth it.

As they approached the final stretch of the 91st floor, the group spotted a faint glow in the distance—a treasure chest, seemingly unguarded.

"Too easy," Gareth muttered. "It's obviously a trap."

"I agree," August said. "Let's tread carefully."

Sure enough, as they neared the chest, the ground trembled. A massive stone slab slid away, revealing a hidden staircase leading down.

[ System Notification: Access to the 92nd floor unlocked. ]

Aria raised an eyebrow. "No boss on this floor? That's strange."

"Maybe they're saving the worst for the last," Viora said uneasily.

"Or maybe," August added, "they're just lulling us into a false sense of security."

The group began their descent to the 92nd floor, knowing the challenges ahead would only grow more daunting.

August paused as they went ahead upon noticing a small gleam at the corner of his eyes.

He spotted something and moved towards the edge of the wall and floor to pick it up.

"Hmm? A key?" He muttered as information about the key popped up.

[ System Notification: Unknown Key Acquired ]

"That's very informative..." August muttered with a dissatisfied look.

"Aleman, you coming?"

Aria's voice called out from up ahead.

"Yeah yeah... One second," August swiftly pocketed the key and went ahead to join them.

...

...

...

A lone figure treaded confidently through the eerie hallways of the 70th floor of the Ancient Swordking's Dungeon.

His steps were slow but deliberate, each footfall reverberating through the ancient stone. The red glow of his sword, strapped to his back, pulsed faintly, casting an ominous light around him.

His long, white hair flowed freely beneath the warrior helmet that masked his face, concealing his identity from any who might encounter him.

Above his head, his level was hidden, replaced with "???", leaving even the dungeon's system uncertain of his full strength.

The creatures lurking in the shadows, massive beasts with razor-sharp fangs and molten eyes, began to approach him. However, before they could come within ten feet, they collapsed.

[ System Notification:*

Beast of Flame (Level 30) has been afflicted by Overwhelming Aura.

-10,000 HP per second. ]

The ground cracked beneath the beasts as if the very weight of his presence crushed them. Their health bars drained rapidly, leaving them lifeless in mere moments. The system automatically distributed the experience to him, but he didn't even spare a glance at the loot that dropped.

[ System Notification: Beast of Flame defeated. 12,000 EXP gained. ]

[ System Notification: Giant Direwolf (Level 32) defeated. 14,500 EXP gained. ]

[ System Notification: Loot automatically distributed. ]

As he continued, the walls began to tremble.

A combination of growls, roars, and guttural snarls echoed from the end of the corridor. Moments later, a pack of massive beasts emerged—nearly a dozen of them. These creatures, each towering over twelve feet tall, bared their fangs and claws as they charged toward him.

Their names hovered in the air:

[ System Notification: Raging Behemoth (Level 35) ×6Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Ironhide Titan (Level 37) ×4 ]

The ground beneath his feet began to quake as the horde approached. Their sheer mass shook the floor.

But the lone figure didn't flinch. He stretched forth his hand with his fingers spreading apart as he uttered a single word: "Anti-gravity."

[ System Notification: Tier 2 Magic Activated: Anti-Gravity Field. ]

The effects were immediate.

The beasts that were mid-charge were suddenly yanked upward as though invisible hands had seized them.

Their monstrous bodies twisted unnaturally, their limbs flailing as they were hurled into the air. Some smashed into the dungeon ceiling with so much force that their massive frames got embedded into the stone above, while others were flung into the walls leaving their bodies half-buried in the jagged rock.

[ System Notification: Raging Behemoth afflicted by Anti-Gravity Field. Movement restricted. HP reduced by 8,000. ]

[ System Notification: Ironhide Titan afflicted by Anti-Gravity Field. Gravity increased 10x. Unable to move. HP reduced by 12,000. ]

Several creatures were slammed back into the ground with tremendous force, their faces buried into the floor as their health bars rapidly depleted.

[ System Notification: Raging Behemoth defeated ×4. 18,000 EXP gained. ]

[ System Notification: Ironhide Titan defeated ×7. 22,000 EXP gained. ]

[ System Notification: Loot automatically distributed. ]

The lone figure lowered his hand, dismissing the spell as though it were nothing. He stepped over the crushed remains of the beasts as he continued forward.

His stride was as calm and unhurried as ever.

It wasn't just his magic that was extraordinary; even his equipment was unmatched. The sword on his back wasn't just any weapon. Its name glowed faintly in the system logs: "Crimson Doomblade (Rare Artifact)." Though he hadn't drawn it yet, the mere aura it emitted seemed to drain the life of any who dared come close.

As he reached the end of the floor, another swarm of enemies appeared. This time, it was a group of winged serpents that slithered out of the cracks in the walls with scales that shimmered like molten gold.

[ System Notification: Goldwing Serpent (Level 36) ×8. ]

The serpents screeched and lunged at him, but before they could even come close, a pulse of energy rippled out from the Doomblade.

[ System Notification: Passive Skill Activated: Crimson Aura. Nearby enemies lose 15% HP per second. ]
