Chapter 94: 【94】If you want to talk to me, first get my name right_1
“Li Wenxuan, long time no see.”
Having just gone over his homework at home, Tang Feng called out the man’s name directly.
His name was Li Wenxuan, the study committee member of their class, and he always ranked at the top regarding academic performance.
Additionally, due to his affluent family background and handsome looks, many girls had written him love letters.
However, at the time, he was solely focused on his studies and turned a blind eye to any girl’s advances.
As a result, he even earned the nickname “Iceberg Prince.”
After so many years, the Iceberg Prince was still as handsome as ever, sporting a slick hairstyle and wearing very sophisticated clothes that obviously came with a hefty price tag.
“Long time no see.”
Li Wenxuan extended his hand for a shake, and whether intentional or not, he revealed a watch around his wrist.
Although Tang Feng wasn’t knowledgeable about watches, just the material of the watch was enough to tell him that it wasn’t cheap.
There was no need for Li Wenxuan to introduce it himself; someone next to them proactively explained, “We were just talking about it, Wenxuan’s watch is from the RuiBao Sirius series and costs over two hundred thousand. Tsk tsk, that’s two years’ worth of my salary.”
Instantly, Tang Feng looked at Li Wenxuan in surprise, “Wow, it seems you’re the most successful one from our class.”
“Don’t say that, we’re all classmates here, it’s vulgar to talk about such things.” Li Wenxuan modestly waved his hand, and the two hundred thousand worth Sirius watch swung back and forth, nearly blinding people with its shimmer.
“Wenxuan, what do you do for a living now?” Tang Feng was genuinely curious. To afford a two hundred thousand watch, his annual salary must be at least a million, right?
A flicker of discomfort crossed Li Wenxuan’s face but he quickly masked it, “Hey, just messing around. Okay, everyone’s here now, let’s go inside.”
After saying that, he led the way inside.
The others followed suit.
Although his expression of embarrassment was fleeting, Tang Feng caught it with his keen senses.
He knew there must be some story behind it.
But this was someone else’s private matter after all, and he couldn’t be bothered to delve into it.
So, he followed the crowd into the hotel.
They had booked a private room, a large one at that, spanning over a hundred square meters.
In the center of the room was a large round table, big enough to seat more than fifty people.
There were around thirty people who attended the reunion, so there was plenty of room to sit.
A few classmates rushed to offer the seat of honor to Li Wenxuan.
Li Wenxuan proffered some token resistance before eventually sitting down.
From this small detail, Tang Feng could tell that although they were still the same classmates, some had developed a hint of opportunism.
If it truly were about classmate seniority, then Jiang Zi, the class president, should have taken that seat.
Jiang Zi didn’t seem to mind, though, and took a seat at the very end, next to him.
Just then, Li Wenxuan suddenly beckoned to her, “Class president, there’s a seat here, come sit next to me.”
He pointed to the empty seat on his right, which was presumably reserved for Jiang Zi.
“No need, I’m fine here,” Jiang Zi immediately waved him off.
“But you are our class president. If you sit there, it’s like you’re insulting us,” Li Wenxuan persisted.
The other classmates also tried to persuade her, but Jiang Zi adamantly refused to move.
Li Wenxuan, apparently feeling slighted by her refusal, was beginning to look displeased when he suddenly pointed at Tang Feng and said, “What’s the matter with you? Hurry up and pull the class president over.”
Tang Feng had intended to persuade Jiang Zi to move, but upon hearing Li Wenxuan’s commanding tone, his eyebrows furrowed and he continued to drink his water, pretending not to hear.
Seeing no response from him, Li Wenxuan immediately grabbed the chopsticks in front of him and threw them at Tang Feng, “Hey, I’m talking to you. What are you daydreaming about?”
The chopsticks, by coincidence, landed in Tang Feng’s glass, splashing a couple of drops of water onto his face.
He slowly set down his glass and looked up at Li Wenxuan, “Are you talking to me?”
“No kidding,” Li Wenxuan said, fixing him with an irritated glare.
“My name isn’t ‘what’s the matter with you.’ If you want to talk to me, start by getting my name right,” Tang Feng’s voice was calm, but it was clear he was annoyed.
“Tang Feng, what are you implying? Today is our class reunion, are you really going to start by spoiling everyone’s mood?” Li Wenxuan’s face grew dark.
The room fell silent immediately, everyone watching the two cautiously.
“I thought maybe you didn’t even know my name,” Tang Feng said, his smile returning as he turned to Jiang Zi, “Class president, don’t worry about what others say. Sit wherever you want to.”
Jiang Zi had already been swayed by everyone else and was getting ready to move, not wanting to disregard everyone’s intentions.
But after hearing what Tang Feng said, she sat back down, “I’ll just sit here. Everyone, please make yourself comfortable, it’s just a class reunion, there’s no need to be so formal.”
Li Wenxuan’s expression darkened upon hearing her words.
Her actions undoubtedly showed that she sided with Tang Feng over him.
Anger welled up inside him.
Seeing the tension rising, a few classmates quickly tried to smooth things over.
“Come on, it’s our first reunion in many years, let’s all be happy.”
“After being out in the world for a few years, I’ve finally realized how precious the friendship between classmates is.”
“That’s right, the affections in society today are all fake. The bonds between us classmates are the purest.”
“Let’s get the waiter to serve the food, we can eat and chat at the same time…”
With a few classmates enlivening the atmosphere, the room became lively once again.
Soon, the waitstaff brought in the dishes.
After the food was served, some students started to cheer, suggesting Jiang Zi should say a few words on behalf of everyone.”
Jiang Zi stood up gracefully and delivered a few formalities.
Being beautiful and having an outstanding demeanor, added to her eloquence, she quickly received applause from everyone.
After she finished speaking, a round of enthusiastic applause broke out in the room.
Then a classmate suddenly proposed again, “Wenxuan, after the class president, why don’t you say a few words too?”
