Chapter 148: 148. Shattered shield
Lucius's eyes narrowed as he quickly sheathed both swords at his side and crouched, getting into a sword-drawing stance. Despite knowing the terrifying force heading his way, Lucius didn't dodge. Instead, crimson sparks began to rage all over his body, bursting out from his scales like countless raging flames.
"Glug! Glug! Glug!"
At the same time, blood in his body started churning like a raging river as his heart beat like a drum, causing a terrifying momentum to engulf his body. The two swords at his waist shook crazily like a pair of raging beasts. Right before Tyler could crash into him, Lucius's eyes opened, revealing berserk slits.
[Bullet Sword- Cross Slash!]
"Screech!"
The two swords tore through the air like rockets as they crashed into Tyler's shield, causing an explosion of crimson rage energy and white divine light. Sparks flew as the two weapons collided and even seemed to come to a standstill. But how could that stop Lucius? The power of the raging dragon was superimposed onto each sword, causing his muscles to twist and squirm.
A ferocious roar echoed from deep within his bones! In this state, Lucius felt his sword could cut through anything!
"Crack!"
'Impossible,' was the last thought Tyler had before he watched the pride of his bloodline shatter before his very eyes.
"Puff!"
Tyler's bloody body shot out like a cannonball, landing next to his brother in a faint dust cloud as Lucius calmly sheathed his swords.
"Hero family? Their strength is only so-so…"
As Lucius shook his head slightly, disappointed, the crowd that had been watching was too stunned to speak!
"What is this? Mother! Please tell me I'm still dreaming!"
Yes, many still believed they were in a dream. They had to be; otherwise, how could a first-year student break the defense of a hero family? And not just any hero family, but the descendants of the Shield Hero. The poor students couldn't be blamed for their disbelief either. If your symbol of strength and protection was broken in front of your eyes, you would be unable to believe it either!
But Lucius didn't care about the opinions of the spectators. His eyes were focused on the two descendants of the hero that lay on the floor covered in dust and blood. Forget about descendants of heroes, in their current state, even beggars would be too embarrassed to claim them.
The two brothers lay on the ground disheveled and in disbelief at their own weakness, but Lucius didn't plan on leaving them alone. He knew that when it came to people as arrogant as this, a true amount of terror needed to be instilled in their minds for them to truly learn their lesson.
Lucius took a step forward, and as he did so, the two brothers felt a shiver run down their spines. They could only watch in horror as the monster and root of all their problems stretched out his hand. Seeing the endless bloodlust radiating from his eyes, the brothers only had one thought:
'He- he really will kill me!'
But right before Lucius's hand could wrap around their throats, a deafening cry erupted:
"Don't move, boy!"
Lucius couldn't give a damn about someone else's instructions. It's just that his body wouldn't listen to him because a terrifying aura seemed to suffocate him, holding his body in place.
"Master class… it's a master class fighter!"
Lucius had felt the aura before, so he was familiar with it, but it was the first time he had it fully directed at his body. But so what? How could Lucius let himself be stopped by mere words! Lucius let out a furious roar! The Barbarian King and Ancient Dragon blood in his body refused to be humiliated like this!
Crimson electricity raged like a storm, and flickering scales emerged all over his skin, transforming the once handsome man into a terrifying demon!
Lucius's now clawed hand broke free of the restriction of the master class aura and shot out towards the idiotic shield brothers.
"Humph!"
A cold snort echoed as an aura even more terrifying than before emerged, and Lucius's body was submerged by the shadow of a giant fist. Lucius's muscles bulged as he tried to resist, but in front of a master, it was just like an ant trying to stop a bus—hopeless!
"Bang!"
Lucius's body shot into the air, crashing down again like a broken kite. Where Lucius once stood, a burly man with a thick beard and deep eyes stood, looking down on the beaten Lucius coldly.
"Even if they made mistakes and were in the wrong, you went too far, boy. Do you think the hero family can be humiliated by just anyone? An issue with our family members should always be handled by our family members."
After saying this, the burly man's aura surged, making all the spectators present shiver as the hairs on their skin stood up.
"Besides, you still need to be dealt with for your blasphemous words against the Shield Hero."
The man didn't hold back, and with a gloomy look on his face, stretched forth his hand that seemed to contain boundless power. But just before his fist could reach Lucius, his fist froze as a thought appeared in his mind:
'Wait, why is it nighttime?'
The man didn't know when, but his surroundings had suddenly turned pitch black as if time had fast-forwarded to midnight. No, it was even worse than that. It was as if they had been sucked into another world entirely. And right then, as if to confirm the man's worst fears, a deathly cold voice echoed throughout the room.
"You said some bold words, Magnus, but I can assure you that if you touch my student, heads will roll."
At the same time as the voice, an enchanting figure could be seen descending, like a goddess falling from the sky. Her milky white skin was in perfect contrast to the abyss of darkness that seemed to follow her every step.
