Chapter 380 – Party Day
June 20th.
The party day had arrived. With them busying themselves with recording the songs and footage, days passed quickly.
Right now, Max was in Miracle Boutique's changing room, looking at his reflection in the mirror. A nice suit covered his body. His hair was done and waxed, slicked back neatly.
Unlike the usual him who had a slightly wild look, his current reflection reminded him of the time when he was in his old house.
"My! You look wonderful, Mr. Charles. It's as if you're born to wear a suit!" Georgina Gill, the owner of the boutique, praised him with an elated voice. "We just need to put a handkerchief in your left pocket and… There. It's perfect!"
Max smiled wryly as he looked at the owner's beaming expression.
"Thank you for the compliment, owner. It felt a little bit strange to dress formally like this."
'And suffocating.' He added in his mind.
Whether he wanted it or not, he had to get used to it if he planned to stay with Lily. StoneSword had warned him too.
'I guess I will see myself in this suit often.'
"No, it's not a compliment. I honestly thought that you look good, Mr. Charles." Georgina said, holding her cheek in her hand. "May I take your picture for promotion?"
'A picture for promotion?'
Max hummed. This might be something that he had to consider seriously, knowing he was a streamer. He couldn't agree to anything that used his face and name for free unless it gave him something.
"We will provide a discount and give you a VIP membership as an exchange. And we can talk about sponsorship at a later date. I know that you're a professional streamer, fufufu."
As if reading his mind, Georgia offered something that made him interested. A sponsorship from a famous luxury brand.
"I guess I don't mind having my picture taken." Max smiled softly at her, "But please put the name 'Breeze' if you decide to use the picture."
"We can arrange that."
'Sponsorship, get!' He exclaimed happily in his mind. Stay tuned with empire
After reaching an agreement, Georgina called a photographer. The changing room was aesthetic enough to become a background. They took his pictures in a few poses before wrapping them.
"Thank you very much. You may wait for Miss Spencer in the waiting room. Our staff will prepare beverages for you to enjoy while waiting."
Max accepted the offer and went to the waiting room. Lily would take a while before she finished. Her dress apparently needed a little bit more work.
He knew 'a while' that Georgina talked about earlier would at least be an hour. How did he know? He just knew.
That was why he made himself comfortable and drank the coffee provided by the staff. Because it was made from the highest grade of beans, the smell and taste were heavenly, different from the normal coffee he enjoyed.
He also opened a novel reading website. Reading a light fantasy novel was something he'd love to do to pass the time. The story he found was fanfiction about the Horizon Online game, which allowed him to know the game's mechanics, monsters, and how most players react in an event or raid.
Of course, because it was fanfiction, the main character was shown to be the greatest player with 99.1% SR. However, even the main character's fanfiction was depicted to never be able to defeat the crazy couple, Atlas and Ferin.
'They even appear in a fanfiction, huh? And what the heck? The overpowered main character is unable to defeat them? How strong are they in the game? Are they cheating?' That was his reaction when reading that part.
An hour later, Georgina exited the female changing room.
"Mr. Charles." She called out to him. "Miss Spencer is ready."
Hearing that, Max raised his head and stood up. The curtain behind the owner opened.
A beautiful girl, with a dress as dark as her hair, and accessories glimmering like her eyes, stepped outside. The clank of high heels resounded in the empty boutique.
The dress hugged her curves gracefully, neckline dipped modesty, accentuating her collarbone and showing off a stunning necklace with sapphire. The side of her skirt was slit up to her thighs, allowing her to move easily.
Her hair was styled into a regal crown braid, making her to look like a princess. Side bangs were let loose, framing her face elegantly.
Lily, in her new dress, stood shyly in front of Max. She raised her head slightly, a hint of makeup was apparent. Her pink lips were now dyed red. Her cheek was red, not only from the blush but also from shyness.
"H-How is it?"
Max couldn't answer. Was this the same girl who always wore a onesie in the bedroom? Was this the girl who only wore long pants on their first date?
Yes, he knew it was the same girl, his girlfriend. But the difference was just so stunning that it froze him for a second.
"Max?"
"A-Ah, yeah." He was pulled out of his thoughts by the impatient voice he heard. "Honestly, I have no words. You look so stunning and beautiful. I even wondered whether you're the same girl I fell in love with or not. Turns out I was right. And I have fallen in love once again."
"I-I see. Un. Y-You also look cool in the suit." Lily stuttered. The embarrassment she felt was just too great for her to stay calm.
On the side, Georgina giggled in a low voice and muttered.
"My~ Mr. Charles is so smooth with his words."
The owner let the two youngsters admire each other for a while. They looked pretty shy but not awkward.
But that short time had to end when a limousine stopped in front of the store. Max and Lily turned around when they heard the screeching of its wheels, something rare in this age where almost all cars were hovering in the air.
A middle-aged man wearing a tailcoat exited the car and opened the passenger door with a white heron drawn on it. The man looked at them and bowed as if he were urging them to enter the car.
"I guess that's our chauffeur," Max said as he turned back to Lily.
Prior to this day, StoneSword told him that he would send someone to pick him up. But he never expected that Lily's brother would send a limousine instead of a normal hover car.
"Un. That's indeed our family symbol." Lily confirmed, nodding at Max.
"So it's time for us to go." He smiled at her before turning to Georgina. "I thank you for everything, Owner. The suit and the dress turned out perfect."
"It's an honor for you to say that. We look forward to your continued patronage in the future. And please have fun at the party."
"We will."
Max extended his hand to Lily, which she took. They linked hands together and began to walk out of the store.
Outside, he helped Lily to enter the car first before following suit. The chauffeur closed the door for them and began to drive without asking a single question.
'It's so fucking nerve-wracking. I hope I don't mess up with anything at the party.'
