Chapter 444 - 311: Monsters of the Volcano, Magma Lake Riot!
This was a decrepit cave, with more than a dozen gray, skeletal remains scattered around.
"Zhu Wu, collect these skeletons as instructed. They need to be returned to their original home and laid to rest in the earth," Ying Xueji sighed lightly as she pulled out a crystal and replaced the energy-depleted one in the Array Plate beneath her feet.
"Let’s go, we are not far from the seal," she said as she felt the scorching aura around them, coupled with a vast and eerie ghostly presence, making everyone’s expression turn solemn.
Zi Liyuan scrutinized the passage and without hesitation summoned Lao Tie and the Spider Queen.
As a weak Necromancer whose own strength was negligible, was it too much to bring a few powerful bodyguards?
If the cave passageway had been wide enough, he would have called forth all epic creatures at his disposal.
Without the old turtle to act as a meat shield and absorb damage, he felt somewhat uneasy.
"The temperature keeps rising, my soft fur is curling up," Tuanzi suddenly emerged, his remark disrupting the deathly silence of the cave.
"Shut it, would you? You were told to stay in the Summoning Space. Why did you come out? To deliver yourself as a meal to the monsters?" Li Fengwen retorted irritably and covered Tuanzi’s mouth to silence him.
Unfortunately, it was too late.
The previously silent cave seemed to have hit a switch, starting to tremble, and small rock fragments began to fall to the ground, adding to the quiet jingle of noises.
"Careful!"
Just moments before, within the range of two hundred meters around their Spirit, no signs of life other than their group were detected. But now, dozens of life signatures suddenly appeared right beside them, within the walls of the passage!
Luckily, their sense of impending danger was very sharp. As soon as they sensed something was wrong, they immediately formed a circle and prepared for battle.
The "crackling" sound of breaking echoed continuously within the cave passageway as chunks of red stones, large as grinding wheels, detached from the cave walls and rolled onto the ground.
The next moment, these stones sprouted limbs and transformed into fiery red Stone Monsters.
They were uniformly Fourth Order Stone Monsters, all silver hero boss templates, with their rocky bodies wrapped in some kind of fire Demonic Runes.
In just an instant, dozens of these creatures had completely blocked the passageway.
It didn’t end there. While their Spirit couldn’t detect these Stone Monsters before, they were now clearly aware of them.
In the surrounding walls, hundreds, if not thousands, of Stone Monsters had yet to emerge!
They had stumbled upon a nest of Stone Monsters!
"What do we do? If we fight here, it might cause a collapse and attract those little devils stationed outside," someone fretted.
"How long will it take to break the seal?"
"Don’t know, but at the very least, half an hour," came the reply.
"Then we need to fight carefully, control the aftermath of the battle, and not make too much noise. Let’s wipe out these Stone Monsters," they concluded. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"In that case, attack!" Following the brief exchange, the group showed their ferocity and began the slaughter of the encircling Stone Monsters!
To minimize the impact of the fight, they all used restrained techniques in their attacks.
Ying Xueji’s face was frosty as she spread ice in all directions, almost in the blink of an eye, ice covered everything around her – the front, back, above, below, left, and right of the cave passage.
The entire cave passage was instantly frozen, and the Stone Monsters that had emerged were coated in a layer of frost. As for those still embedded in the walls, they too were frozen temporarily, hammering against the icy layers of the rock walls in desperation.
Zhu Wu, Liu Shengnan, and Li Fengwen, without any hesitation, charged forth to ruthlessly kill the Stone Monsters immobilized by ice.
Zhu Wu this time pulled out a massive axe, striking down with a powerful overhead blow, cleaving a Stone Monster into two from head to tail with ease.
Liu Shengnan still wielded her Halberd, violently stabbing it into the body of a Stone Monster. A tremor followed, shattering the creature’s rocky body into pieces.
Li Fengwen, meanwhile, brought out a pair of golden hammers and went on a wild rampage, smashing the Stone Monsters to pieces wherever he went, leaving nothing but rubble in his wake.
Lao Tie and the Spider Queen, keeping close to Zi Liyuan, also drew their weapons and joined the fray.
The Spider Queen, with her Dual Blades, made quick work of the Stone Monsters. The glint of her blades sliced through them as easily as through tofu, turning the creatures into innumerable stone fragments.
Lao Tie was not to be outdone, his blades piercing through the Stone Monsters like a cutter, while the eight spikes on his back allowed him to dismember a Stone Monster into pieces swiftly.
Zi Liyuan himself was not idle. With his Magic Wand, he pointed into the distance, gathering numerous strands of the Power of Death. In front of him, Spears of Death materialized one after another.
In a mere second, a dozen or so Spears of Death shot towards the passageway, piercing the Stone Monsters frozen behind him.
These Spears of Death, aligned in rows, carried immense piercing power and vast deathly energy, penetrating the Stone Monsters’ rocky shells. The immense Power of Death corroded their interiors, destroyed their defenses, and shattered the cores of their Spirits.
