Chapter 342 The Zombie Den
Swain was about to order everyone to gather the corpses so the three leaders could either loot them or allow their subordinates to loot them instead, depending on their decision.
Swain, of course, planned to loot these Zombies and get experience points. Since there are 24 Stoneskin Zombies, he should be able to get at least 8 of them, even though his squad alone killed 12 of them.
However, before he could give his command, Shane suddenly interrupted.
"There are 24 Stoneskin Zombies here… Can I buy them for 5 Zombie Cores each? I want to loot all of them."
This sudden offer surprised everyone, including the squad leaders.
"Huh? You said you want to buy them? Don't you know that each of them would only give 3 Zombie Cores at most?" Iseult asked after hearing the offer.
Although these Stoneskin Zombies may also drop other items like Item Upgrade Crystal, Stoneskin Shard, and other materials that could be used in crafting prosthetics, they weren't all that expensive, or they were too rare to drop from these few Zombies.
The offer of 5 Zombie Cores each was certainly quite tempting…
However, the Experience Points that they could get from looting them were hard to calculate with Zombie Cores. After all, fighting against these Zombies would only improve their Skills and not their Levels.
"What do you think?" Maurice asked Swain, showing his decision to accept Shane's offer. Well, he didn't mind not getting experience points at the moment since he would probably need stronger mid-tier Zombies or high-tier Zombies to get more Experience Points.
Swain considered for a moment before nodding his head.
"How about 6 Zombie Cores?" Swain asked as he looked at Shane curiously.
Shane was, of course, happy with this offer, and he didn't even mind giving them 10 Zombie Cores for each of the Stoneskin Zombies.
Well, the reason that he needed them was because of his Blood Alchemy. The Stoneskin Ability requires not just the blood of the Zombies but also their Stone Essence, according to the book.
With his Complete Loot Ability, he knew that he would be able to get all the items he needed!
Furthermore, Stoneskin's ability could seem to be a decent Survivor Skill that could be combined or fused with his Aura of Protection or other defensive skills.
'Right… I only have 1 Skill Fusion Talisman… I want to combine a few more Survivor Skills. I hope someone would be stupid enough to sell them in the Market.' Shane thought.
He already informed everyone in the Clan about the Skill Fusion Talisman and to check them in the Market from time to time. Once it appeared, they just had to quickly inform him, and he would buy it no matter the price…
For now, however, he could only imagine what Skill he would combine once he got more of these Talismans later.
Anyway, Shane acted as if the six Zombie Cores were already too much but with a sigh, he replied in agreement.
"Fine… I accept the six Zombie Cores. Since there are twenty-four of them, here's 144 Zombie Cores."
Seeing how Shane decided to pay them even before he started looting the Zombies, Swain couldn't help but smile and accept it. He then shared the Zombie Cores with the other leaders.
As for Shane, he immediately activated his Auto-Loot.
[ You have earned 25 Experience Points. ]
[ Loots obtained: Item Upgrade Crystal x2, Zombie Core x5, 800mL Water, Bread x10, Unknown Meat ( Safe ) x5, 100mL Stoneskin Zombie Blood, Strength Enhancement Bottle x1, Stone Essence x2, Stoneskin Shard x2 ]
"Oh… They're actually giving a lot." Shane was surprised since he hadn't expected that the stone-like zombie would have the highest water drop so far. Furthermore, it also dropped a Strength Enhancement Bottle!
If he gets more of these, he will be able to strengthen his Clan members even more. After all, their Clan Trade was already open!
Soon, he looted all of the Stoneskin Zombies, and they continued on their way inside. They encountered Cave Dweller Zombies as well and more Stoneskin Zombies.
Shane then bought all Stoneskin Zombies for 6 Zombie Cores while he didn't show his interest in the dwarf-like Zombies or Cave Dwellers.

As the group continued deeper into the cave, the narrow passages opened up into a vast cavern.
The air was filled with the scent of damp earth but no one complained about it…
Soon, they saw one of the items they were looking for. However, it won't be easy for them.
In the center of the cavern, coiled around a gleaming Silver Treasure Chest, was a massive Rock Python Zombie.
Its scales, hardened like stone, seemed to be impenetrable for a moment.
'I wonder how they learned that this Den has 2 Silver Treasure Chests and 1 Bronze Treasure Chest.' Shane mused instead of getting scared of the python Zombie.
He was more interested in how they scouted this Den.
'In any case, I should be joining the battle this time… Kang Zhen might reward me if there's zero casualties…' Shane thought as he recalled that Kang Zhen was hoping for at least three casualties.
However, if the opponent was only at the level of this Python, then they might be able to avoid any casualty at all!
Nonetheless, the size of it was definitely intimidating at first…
This creature had clearly undergone significant mutations, making it an even more formidable guardian. However, Shane could tell that because it was too heavy, it was also moving slowly like the Stoneskin Zombies…
Of course, that statement came from a survivor with maxed-out agility, so it was still different from the others. The others might have a hard time responding to this Zombie's attacks later.
Swain, Maurice, and Iseult signaled their squads to spread out, preparing for the confrontation.
The tension within the cavern could be felt as they approached the monstrous zombie.
Suddenly, with a hiss that echoed through the cavern, the Rock Python Zombie dove at them, its massive body aimed to crush everyone in sight!
